Mathematics outside the classroom
BENEŠOVÁ, Eliška
The aim of this thesis is to introduce the MathCityMap application and its use in education. The focus is on the intersection of mathematics with geography and digital technologies. The thesis shows that mathematics education does not necessarily have to be implemented in the classroom, but also in spaces outside the school, in the city, in the open field or in the home environment. The application focuses on the mathematical aspects of various natural and technical objects. Mathematics is not seen as an abstract discipline; instead, its tangibility and practical application in life is shown. This is important for the depth and permanence of understanding the essence of mathematics. The app is a suitable tool for several different teaching methods and approaches. The activities associated with the app are validated by my teaching experience with students, second grade elementary school teachers, and future teachers.
Solving the problems of analytic geometry in GeoGebra
BENEŠOVÁ, Eliška
In the matter of mathematics, graphical representation of the curriculum for its better conceivability should be greatly emphasized. This bachelor thesis, called Solving Analytical Geometry Problems in the Interface of the GeoGebra Software, interconnects the relation between the geometrical and the algebraic representation. The GeoGebra software is an outstanding choice for the abovementioned topic, since it contains the necessary interface for both flat and spatial geometry, as well as for notation of algebraic expressions. The Bachelor´s thesis contains 24 tasks, which were selected from the analytic geometry curriculum of elementary and high schools, as well as its scope in the college studies of mathematics teachers. The subject matter of the problems is distance in plane and space. The problems are solved and illustrated with the help of GeoGebra. The thesis includes online sharing of the created applets, which are available online via links or QR codes listed in the text of the thesis. The solution of tasks can be studied through dynamic 2D or 3D structures. Applets are intended for sharing by teachers and students. A set of applets in the form of the so-called GeoGebra book is also part of the work. Furthermore, the work maps the curriculum of the analytic geometry of elementary and high school level of education and the college level of future teachers.
Ontogenetic changes of the face.
Benešová, Eliška ; Eliášová, Hana (advisor) ; Dvořák, Daniel (referee)
The human face is characterized by a combination of morphological characters, which are unique for each individual. These characters are subject to change during ontogeny influenced by age, pathological conditions, injuries. The aim of this diploma thesis was an observation of age changes in the face of individuals in the age range from one to eighteen. Resource material were black and white photographs of girls and boys. Analysis of age changes in facial area was performed using methods of geometric morphometrics, specifically thin plate spine (TPS). The shape analysis confirmed, that between age and face shape exists significant relationship. It was found, that is mainly due to significant changes in height and width ratios. Face extends and narrows, forehead height is reduced and lower jaw grows to lenght. Facial changes are also influenced by the sex of individuals, while for girls the overall growth in the face stopps about age of fifteen, for boys continues to the age of eighteen years. Keywords Geometric morphometrics, thin plate spline, ontogenetic development of the face, age changes.

The analysis of pharmaceuticals using instrumental methods
Benešová, Eliška ; Matysová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Šatínský, Dalibor (referee)
Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Analytical Chemistry Candidate: Eliška Benešová Consultant: PharmDr. Ludmila Matysová, Ph.D. Diploma Thesis Title: Application of the Instrumental Methods in Analysis of the Pharmaceutical Preparations The development and validation of a new high performance liquid chromatography method for the determination of calcium chloride dihydrate in the injection solution are described. This method is based on the combination of ion exchange chromatography and undirect spectrophotometric detection. Ion chromatography was performed in a cation-exchange Supelcosil LC-SCX analytical column (250 mm x 4,6 mm; 5 m) under isocratic conditions with 10 mM nitric acid (HNO3)/ethylenediamine (EDA) pH 3,0 with addition of the probe cupric sulfate pentahydrate as mobile phase at flow-rate 1.0 mL/min. The effects of pH mobile phase, concentration of the competing ion, organic modifiers, and concentration of probe were studied. Keywords: calcium chloride dihydrate, high performace liquid chromatography, ion exchange chromatography, undirect spectrophotometric detection
