Optimal location of transform rollers of lift cabin
Žák, Martin ; Chalupský, Petr (referee) ; Špička, Jiří (advisor)
The work is a project of a component that allows lift transform rollers skewing. Three possible ways of construction are introduced. Their advantages and disadvanatages are mentioned. The best option was selected and checked by FEM. Prestressed bolted connection was also worked out. In the conclusion of the paper there is a source code of the computer programme for maximum rollers skew calculation.
Solar Concentrator System with Automatic Tracking System
Žák, Martin ; Sumec, Stanislav (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on current possibilities of solar energy utilization – especially on concentrating solar power systems – and their optimization using solar tracking systems to maximize energy gain. The thesis also deals with solar position algorithm and offers an Arduino based automatic dual axis solar tracker design which provides various solar devices the ability to pivot using stepper motors, DC motors or servos. The motion might be driven by calculated solar position or by actual illuminance.
A technological solution and design of serial production of sheet metal part
Žák, Martin ; Dvořáková, Jana (referee) ; Dvořák, Jaromír (advisor)
Design of a sheet metal product imitating a world map, which is a wall decoration for interiors. The serial production procedure was designed on the basis of a prototype and a survey of production processes.
Design and construction of an interactive light sources panel
Žák, Martin ; Pavelka, Tomáš (referee) ; Škoda, Jan (advisor)
This semestral thesis deals with design and construction of the interactive light sources board and measurement of various parameters of those light sources. Using the given requirements, a solution is worked out (construction materials, behaviour, design, wiring etc. are given). Based on this, the interactive board was also constructed and put into operation. The thesis is also focused on the given light sources themselves (incandescent light bulbs, halogen lamps, compact fluorescent lamps, fluorescent tubes and LED lamps) and their measurement results are presented.

Social History of Plant Breeding and Seed Production
Lichá, Tereza ; Žák, Martin (referee) ; Kollarová, Denisa (advisor)
How do Grocery Stores Shelves Stay Full All the Time is a visual essay based on extensive research. In the form of an iterative website, the work explores the issue of vegetable shortages in the UK during the months of February and March this year and the UK government's response to the situation. The aim is to highlight a fragile system that is invisible to us in our everyday lives through the commonplace of full supermarket shelves. Despite the fact that it is only a century since people worked in the fields every day for their own livelihood, millions of lives have been lost because of the imperialist experiments of the world powers in food self-sufficiency. The essay then shifts its excursion from the current situation in the UK to the experiments in landscape intervention in the 20th century, beginning with the Great Depression in the US and Mao's Great Leap Forward. During the so-called longread, pop-ups pop up with historical references serving as brief points of interest on the topic, such as Marie Antoinette's artificial village or the idea of draining the Mediterranean Sea and creating a new state at its bottom to be populated and farmed.

Výkrm jatečného skotu
Žák, Martin
The bachelor thesis is focused on the issue of fattening cattle for slaughter. It mentions the importance of bovine animals, the breed types of livestock species and the state of cattle. In the Czech Republic, cattle have been slowly increasing since 2011, when they were on the historic bottom. In the world, they are still the largest livestock breeders in India, Brazil, China and the US. Among the cattle for slaughter, we include all the bovine livestock categories: calves, young cattle, heifers, oxen, bulls and cows. Specialized fattening is the most traditional in the Czech Republic, especially for bulls and heifers. Calves, young cattle and oxen are specially fattened rather exceptionally. These figures also confirm the number of slaughters in the Czech Republic. Foreign trade is in the Czech Republic in recent years, the number of exported live animals is growing. All continents of the world between 1990 and 2013 have increased beef and cattle production, in the European Union, on the contrary, cattle and beef production have fallen by 50%. The technology and techniques of fattening have tradition in our country, but this system is still slightly neglected. Priority in investment and reconstruction is mainly the production system of dairy cows, rearing young cattle, etc. The fattening animals should be treated as well as high-yield dairy cows. We can judge slaughter animals according to a number of criteria, such as weight gains, slaughter yield, slaughter weight and many others. The current hot topic is the quality of meat because the consumption of beef is not as high as it used to be in the past. The quality of the meat is influenced by a number of factors that never act in isolation, but on the contrary affect each other.
