Electronic Media in Professional Education

SUMMARY: The objective of this dissertation is to map, analyse and assess the role of modern information and communication technologies in the field of media education within the initial training and lifelong professional education provided by the police training colleges in the Czech Republic. Media literacy is a part of core competency of each individual in the current societal epoch, which is defined by the communication explosion. The issues of media education are pursued by media pedagogy. The work submitted analyses the scope of media education elements within the individual teaching subjects which are parts of police educational programmes approved by the Police Presidium of the Czech Republic. The research part of the thesis focuses on assessing the media literacy level of Czech police officers. The method of questionnaire investigation of the students of the initial professional training course provided by the police training colleges in the Czech Republic was used for the purpose of the research investigation. Subsequent relevant information was obtained through an unstructured interview with a senior official of the Police Presidium of the Czech Republic. Non-verbal creativity development in field of technical projection basics

The thesis addresses the problems of developing pupils' non-verbal creativity in technical projection basics curriculum segments. The introductory theoretical part defines the idea of creativity and factors influencing its development. The second part is empirically explorative and deals with the state of general, unspecific and technical creativity of basic school pupils and especially high school students with the possibility of non-verbal creativity build-up. Under the terms of the thesis, an educational system for non-verbal creativity development was devised, which particularly focuses on the field of depth perception. The Use of Webcasting systems in education

The issues discussed in this thesis are the problematics of making use of web casting systems in education. The aim of this research is the identification and analysis of web casting systems as a contemporary kind of audiovisual or multi-medial directed instructional media. A wide spectrum of properties and characteristics of web casting systems are subject to exploitation with the aim to understand their didactical specifics and possibilities of the functional use within the frame of innovation methods and techniques in education. The results of theoretical and empirical exploitation provide a solution for a model design of a web casting system. By detailing the theory of this specific area of didactical instruments, this thesis attempts to contribute to the development of information and technical education didactics and conscious of the growing importance of technologies for the support of education in the society, of knowledge and pedagogical science generally.

Research part of the thesis is focused on proving hypotheses referring to comparison of study results gained by students in the traditional face-to-face education and eLearning way of academic education. The relationship Czech majority and national minorities in the region of South Bohemia

Práce se zabývá zkoumáním problematiky národnostních menšin v kontextu Jihočeského kraje. Vychází ze skutečnosti, že současná společnost čelí problémům, které jsou historicky dané a navíc, které jsou způsobené imigrací. Vychází z rozsáhlého výzkumu, který byl proveden v Jihočeském kraji a který zkoumal jednak vztahy většinové populace k národnostním menšinám, na druhou stranu také věnoval i vztahům menšin k většinové populaci. Nabízí návrh koncepce Jihočeského kraje ve vztahu k národnostním menšinám. Je přínosná především z hlediska možnosti praktické aplikace získaných poznatků, ale může posloužit jako základ pro další analýzu dané problematiky, jednak v kontextu Jihočeského kraje, ale také na obecnější úrovni.
