Novák, Adam ; Janeček, Petr (advisor) ; Štěpánová, Irena (referee)
The Bachelor thesis is focused on analysing an issue of celebrating Walpurgis Night in the Czech Republic, especially focusing on freetekno community and its ways of keeping this phenomenon alive. Main question of the thesis is: Can contemporary subculture keep a traditional calendar custom alive? As they are going through noticeable changes nowadays and freetekno community, as one of the youngest subcultures, returns to the roots of these customs in its own particular manner. Thesis contains three slightly different topics and tries to relate them to each other. The first part is a general description of a ritual in a context of role in society and its meaning for an individual. The second part is aimed on celebrating the Walpurgis Night in Czech territory especially from the nineteenth and twentieth century. The third part contains a brief summary of subculture studies and an introduction to freetekno subculture as a contemporary young community, which tends to rejuvenate an archaic form of rite. A comparison of two developmental methods and their impact on behaviour
Štěpánová, Irena ; Loneková, Katarína (advisor) ; Rymeš, Milan (referee)
The goal of my thesis is to compare the impact of two developmental methods (role playing and discussion about a video specially recorded for the developmental activity). In theoretical part I introduce employee development area from a psychological point of view and I describe psychological concepts in the background of concrete skills as leadership, self-management, communication and influencing. I strive for deeper understanding of ways we use to absorb these skills and understanding of possibilities to be used to enhance employees' development whether we mean the concrete developmental methods or training and development process management as a whole. This knowledge is applicable in training and development, which is an area, where my research is conducted. In empirical part I made two researches. In qualitative research I was identifying target group developmental needs to be able to set relevant developmental goals and chose developmental methods corresponding with actual needs of employees which is an important premise of influencing behaviour. In the main research part I conducted quasi-experiment where I compare the target group score before and after the developmental intervention. I compared statistically significant differences between scores in experimental groups and in control group....

Vohradníková, Karolína ; Hejzlarová, Tereza (advisor) ; Štěpánová, Irena (referee)
Vietnam went through diverse historical development that contributed to the diversity of today's culture and specific craft industry. Vietnamese culture was mostly influenced by China, where we can probably find the origin of folk prints production. Two famous folk prints production workshops gradually developed in northern Vietnam, but many other smaller centers can be found throughout Vietnam. The diversity of folk motives illustrates the richness of traditional vietnamese folk culture. Vietnamese collection from Náprstek Museum started without any approach of systematic collecting, mainly from purchases or gifts of travelers or professionals who reside or traveled to Vietnam for work or research purposes. Within approximately past fifty years collection of vietnamese folk prints has become the most comprehensive part of asian collections from Náprstek Museum.

Fungáčová, Natália ; Šatava, Leoš (advisor) ; Štěpánová, Irena (referee)
(anglicky): Migration includes a lot of aspects and a lot of scientific disciplines focus on this. One of these aspects is integration, which we can perceive in this case as integration of immigrants into host country society. Approaches and methods of integration can be different depending on ambiguity of this term. This dissertation is focused on specific example of effort to integrate women immigrants with help of traditional food, which came from the ground of civil association InBáze, o.s. The association developed a project named Ethnocatering which helps to immigrants to become successful on job market via their own experience from gastronomy and it`s supporting itself by social entrepreneurship. Women from different countries of the world then have an opportunity to prepare specialties typical for countries they come from and introduce those to the local society. This essay is focused on immigrants from countries such as South Caucasus - Georgia and Armenia and also on traditional food typical for these countries. Kľúčové slová (anglicky): traditional food, different ethnic background cuisine, social entrepreneurship, immigration, integration
Transgender identity
Kováriková, Juliána ; Skupnik, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Štěpánová, Irena (referee)
The main purpose of the present diploma thesis is to introduce the transgender identity as a newly emerging lifestyle and political activism of transpeople. Because the transgenderism has been formed in opposition to the dominant medical discourse of transsexuality, it is necessary to include the transsexual stand of view which transgender people are defining against. I regard the transsexuality and transgenderism as two different discourses forming new different identity categories, having specific impact on lives of people they are naming. I focus mainly on the impact of different concepts of sex, gender and sexuality on formation of specific shapes of these ideologies. In the empirical part, I am applying my mind on the narrative construction of transgender identity. Through some parts of interview with a person diagnosed with transsexuality, that has accepted the identity of a transgender in the course of his life, I try to mediate a more realistic and sculpturesque image of transgender/transsexual life, identity and sense of self.
