Educational game activities with chemical theme

The rigorous thesis deals with study of one of the method, which go to development of creative genius and activity of students, namely with game. The main goal of the thesis is to explore problems of the game activities, inclusive of conditions, possibilities and advantages of their introduce to teaching chemistry at the second grade of basic school and to present suggestions for their realization. The thesis contains also fifteen concrete game activities with their rules and methodical hints. By means of the guest-size pedagogical research, practised on the choiced sample of the pupils from six basic schools, the prediction, that the result of teaching with games are better than results of teaching, where game activities weren't used, was ratified. North Korea at the turn of the 2nd millennium - its role in the international arena

Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is a very unique and closed country that remains hidden to the surrounding world in many various aspects. My thesis focuses on the status of the DPRK at the turn of the 2nd millennium on the background of historical and political development on the Korean peninsula. I present the role of DPRK in the international arena especially on the issue of the DPRK's nuclear program and the process of its solution with its key partners. The history of DPRK is an essential part of the process how to understand contemporary North Korea. Therefore I briefly introduce a historical and cultural impact on the development of Korean peninsula and a historical development of the Republic of Korea in relation to DPRK. The historical development of DPRK since its establishment in 1948 provides a crucial background for a current situation in DPRK. Except the role of DPRK in the international arena I point out a current situation within the country - in the economic, political and human rights areas because they certainly have a great impact on the DPRK's position in the international field (e.g. issue of refugees).

Regional function of the Regional Library in Pardubice in the region

Bakalářská práce "Regionální funkce Krajské knihovny v Pardubicích v rámci kraje" se zabývá metodickou činností krajské knihovny a knihoven pověřených výkonem RF. Jejím cílem je přiblížit krajskou knihovnu a pověřené knihovny z pohledu činností v rámci kraje a ukázat dopad a využití regionálních funkcí v různých typech knihoven. Práce je členěna do pěti hlavních kapitol. V první kapitole je představena krajská knihovna, její historie a počátky metodické činnosti. V druhé kapitole práce seznamuje s pokyny a doporučeními pro tuto činnost. Jádro práce tvoří především třetí kapitola, která se zabývá sledováním plnění standardů výkonu RF v kraji v letech 2003-2007, krátce představuje pověřené knihovny a jejich okresní metodickou práci v roce 2007. Praktické zkušenosti se službami RF ve dvou malých knihovnách jsou uvedeny ve čtvrté kapitole. Závěrečná, pátá kapitola shrnuje a hodnotí výkon RF v Pardubickém kraji.

The effect of second-hand smoking

Smoking of tobacco is practised worldwide by over one thousand million people. However, while smoking prevalence has declined in many developed countries, it remains high in others and is increasing among women and in developing countries. Between one-fifth and two-thirds of men in most populations smoke. Women's smoking rates vary more widely but rarely equal male rates. The purpose of this review is to discuss cigarette smoking and its effect on health in general with emphasis put on environmental tobacco smoke. In addition some of the carcinogenic effect and diseases caused by second hand smoke is discussed here. Finally actions or measures made to decrease the effect of second hand smoke. Most of the information is based on American source together with some sources from WHO.
