Use GPS for in flight measurement
Čížková, Markéta ; Dvořák, Petr (referee) ; Jebáček, Ivo (advisor)
Bachelor thesis Use GPS for In-Flight Measurement addresses the applicability of Global Positioning System as a tool for aircraft certification. The theoretical part of thesis aims to acquire the GPS principle, it deals with accuracy of the system and methods of certification. The practical part contains a comparison of altitude measurement using GPS and Pitot-static system in a gliding flight.
Analysis of transport aircraft damage during of terrorist attack
Čížková, Markéta ; Jetela, Václav (referee) ; Petrásek, Miloslav (advisor)
In its theoretical part, the diploma thesis deals with the reasons leading to terrorist attacks and a brief list of some attacks on aircraft. It also focuses on the aircraft as the target of a terrorist attack, especially the aircraft kite as the major researched part. The conclusion of the theoretical part summarizes a list of types of aircraft fuselage structures in respect of design solutions for load transfer. The practical part determines the extent of damage caused by a missile with a fragmentation warhead. This scope is then applied to the illustrative case. In the following chapters, the calculation of the critical force of a panel loaded with pressure depends on the different nature and extent of damage. Then the work highlights the evaluation of the obtained results, which are also summarized in the conclusions of the work.

Reference patterns of "this" and corresponding Czech equivalents
Čížková, Markéta ; Klégr, Aleš (advisor) ; Šaldová, Pavlína (referee)
This MA thesis is first of all concerned with the distribution of different types of reference of the English demonstrative pronoun this. Reference can be divided into exophoric (personal, spatial, temporal, discourse, social, empathetic, and emotional deixis), endophoric (anaphora and cataphora), and non-phoric reference (introductory and recognitional). The second aim of this thesis is to study the way by which the individual occurrences of the pronoun this with different reference are translated into the Czech language. The sample that was studied consisted of 219 occurrences of this collected from three British plays: The Caretaker (1960) by Harold Pinter, The Public Eye (1962) by Peter Shaffer, and The Real Inspector Hound (1968) by Tom Stoppard. The Czech translations of these plays were used for the second part of the research. The analysis of the plays showed that the most frequent type of reference of this is exophoric deictic reference, more precisely its subtype spatial deixis. The outcome of the translational analysis was the finding that this is most frequently translated by the Czech demonstrative pronoun ten. Keywords: demonstrative pronoun this, reference distribution, exophora, deixis, endophora, non-phoric reference, Czech translation equivalents
Occupational Therapy Focused on Upper Extremity Motor Disorders at School-Age Children with Cerebral Palsy
Čížková, Markéta ; Krivošíková, Mária (advisor) ; Sládková, Petra (referee)
Cerebral palsy (CP) is one of the most frequent neurodevelopmental deseases. The brain lesion may disturb upper extremity functioning in children with cerebral palsy (CP). This thesis aims to create a therapeutic program focused on movability of upper limbs in school-aged children with CP and and verify the efficiency of this therapeutic program. Another goal is to consider the applicability of the Jebsen Taylor Test of Hand Function for assessment of hand function in children with CP. The theoretical part deals elaborately with cerebral palsy, therapeutic interventions in children with CP and its efficiency according to the evidence based medicine. This part also deals with standardized assassment tools and pays close attention to the Jebsen Taylor Test of Hand Function (JTTHF) and the Manual Ability Classification System (MACS). The practical part presents six case studies of children with cerebral palsy who attended the occupational therapy three times a week over three weeks. The created therapeutic program includes three areas focused on the bimanual training, grips and grafomotorics. This program was appropriate for four of six children patients. The program was too hard for children with quadruparesis classified as MACS IV. The other children were classified as MACS II. The efficiency of...
Gender Differences in Selected Works of Ernest Hemingway
Čížková, Markéta ; Veselá, Pavla (advisor) ; Ulmanová, Hana (referee)
During his life, Ernest Hemingway was not only surrounded by many ambitious women but he also witnessed the change in women's social positions in society. It is observable in his works that Hemingway's own experiences with gender issues affected his life and his literary output as well. Thus this thesis focuses on the issue of gender differences in selected novels of Ernest Hemingway. Its aim is to describe and analyze the author's characterization of his male heroes and their female counterparts in the following novels: A Farewell to Arms, The Sun Also Rises and For Whom the Bell Tolls. Even though it might seem that Hemingway's heroes are generally known for being very "masculine" types, they are often, as the thesis argues, under the influence of female characters. Moreover, although it might seem that women are not important for Hemingway's stories due to the fact that his heroes are depicted as strong and independent men who do not need women, it is the other way around since women's presence provides the reader with an ability to see the emotional side of the heroes. Thus an analysis of the individual relationships and their impact on the characters' development is another important part of this thesis. Moreover, Hemingway's works are always connected with his personal experiences and thus...
