Resonance and damping behavior of lattice structures produced by Selective Laser Melting
Lagiň, Adam ; Čížek, Petr (referee) ; Koutný, Daniel (advisor)
In reaction to the uptrend of additive manufacturing of lightweight structured metallic parts, this diploma thesis is focused on the resonant and damping behavior of micro-truss lattices produced by Selective Laser Melting (SLM) technology. Micro-truss structures already found usage in various types of optimizations. Therefore, the optimization of resonance or damping could be also assumed as possible. For this purpose, several finite element analysis approaches were used, including the referent solid element model and simplified beam models. Obtained results were verified experimentally via pulse modal analysis. Material and mechanical properties of samples for FEA results and experimental results comparison were unified through secondary experiments. The main goal of this research was to explore the behavior of resonance and damping of structures when their elementary parameters are changed. The results from both, numerical and experimental approaches confirm that the eigenfrequency and the damping ratio of the structure can be affected by the change in the truss diameter, cell size, or type of structure. The work also presents the successful methods for simplified beam model optimization, which guarantees its high precision in the wide field of tested samples. This newly obtained knowledge creates a comprehensive overview of micro-truss structures, which can be used for the conscious design of ultra-light parts with the required eigenfrequency and damping ratio.
Experimental 3D printer for the selective laser sintering of polymers
Kroutil, Tomáš ; Čížek, Petr (referee) ; Paloušek, David (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with design and realization of experimental 3D printer for selective laser sintering of plastic powders. The output of the work is a device that can create the main process conditions for laser sintering. A diode laser is used in the device, which allows aluminum composite powders to be processed. The printer allows you to heat up the applied layer of powder and set-up space. The research section focuses on similar equipment, process parameters, laser technology and control system. The design section contains solution variants and a description of the chosen solution.
Design of hip joint simulator
Žonda, Peter ; Čížek, Petr (referee) ; Vrbka, Martin (advisor)
The master's thesis is concerned with design and execution of an experimental acetabulofemoral joint simulator. Its primary use is the study of lubrication film thickness in hip implants. The work first describes available hip joint simulators, which simulate particular joint positions. Next, the thesis proposes author’s own designs and solutions. The result is a produced device allowing for dynamic change of load in simulation of hip joint flexion and extension as set by ISO standard. Contact is recorded by an optical apparatus composed of a high-speed camera and a microscope. The work also includes the initial testing experiment and the complete design documentation of the device including electrical wiring diagrams.
Design of Testing Bench for Determination of the Operating Parameters of the Magnetic Shaft Sealing
Kubík, Michal ; Čížek, Petr (referee) ; Roupec, Jakub (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of testing stand for operating parameters magnetic seal. In this thesis was done analysis of construction magnetic circuit and analysis of operating parameters. This work contains FEM analysis of magnetic circuit and experimental tune up. The results of this analysis will be used for design magnetic circuit and geometric sensitivity analysis in test stand.
Monitoring of FDM printing process
Rafaja, Hynek ; Čížek, Petr (referee) ; Zatočilová, Aneta (advisor)
The target of this work is the development of a monitoring system for 3D printing by the Fused Deposition Modeling method, which will be able to identify printing error conditions. During the solving process the needed error conditions were identified. Then, an algorithm was programmed to identify the error condition using the criterion. The resulting Monitoring Hardware was implemented in the printer and experimentally verified. A system has been developed that can identify error conditions with an accuracy of 94.7%. The main benefit of this work is the automatic identification of error conditions that stop printing if necessary. This leads to a reduction in scrap and cost savings. In the future, the software could automatically adjust the print parameters when identifying an error condition. This would prevent or completely eliminate the error condition without user intervention.
Electronic Xylophone
Čížek, Petr ; Vojáček, Zdeněk (referee) ; Marada, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and create a working electronic xylophone which could be controlled by a programmable logic controller or by an Arduino based board. The finished xylophone could be used for promotional purposes of the faculty.
DESIGN OF AUTOMATIC PIPETTING HEAD ON THE PRINCIPLE OF PERISTALTIC PUMP
Čížek, Petr ; Lang, Stanislav (referee) ; Matoušek, Radomil (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to design and create a prototype of automatic pipetting head that will be useful for pipetting in laboratories after attaching it to a robotic manipulator. In the beginning, a research about various types of automatic pipetting heads was made followed by a device design and component analysis. The prototype was made using 3D printing method and it utilises a peristaltic pump, Arduino microcontroller and Bluetooth interface. A measurement of repeatability and dispensing accuracy was made on the finished device. The results are evaluated in the conclusion.

Větrovec, Ondřej ; Čížek, Petr (referee) ; Samek, František (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with the cooling of electronic component. The work focuses on contemporary design of LED signal functions used in modern automotive headlamps and a on new design solution for the DRL function in the headlamp Skoda Octavia, including the use of alternative materials for cooler.
CFD simulation of exhaust gases flow through the wastegate of petrol engines turbocharger
Methods for the wear determination of a railway wheel
Čížek, Petr ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Řehák, Kamil (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of measuring the wear of railway wheels. Railway wheels are subject to high loads and therefore their profile also suffers from high wear. Early exposure of a damaged wheel can prevent fatal train accidents, and hence there is a need to measure wear not only periodically in laboratory but also in during train operation. Wear measurement methods are currently divided into 3 types, the most developed of which are the on-track and laboratory measurement methods. On-train measurement methods are in most cases only at the study stage due to the difficulty of their application to the train set.
