This article is based on Austrian studies of the re-organisation of the General Planning Directorate in Vienna in 1783 - 1788, and it outlines the options of a further examination of the relationship between the architecture of civil engineers of Czech planning directorates and the engineers of military planning directorates in Terezín and Josefov.

Experience of simultaneous interpreting into "B" languages. Interpretation in the EU institutions

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tématem, které je v letech po rozšíření Evropské unie velmi aktuální, přesto je velmi málo teoreticky i empiricky zpracováno. Po vymezení pojmu tlumočení do cizího jazyka (tzv. "retouru") a jeho přijímání translatology a tlumočnickou obcí je nejprve podán přehled historie a současného kontextu tlumočení v Evropské unii. Následující část je věnována kritickému přehledu translatologických teorií ve vztahu ke směru tlumočení - touto otázkou se dosud specificky zabývalo překvapivě málo teoretických prací. Proto bylo nezbytné před formulováním hypotéz pro náš empirický výzkum provést jakousi syntézu dosavadního stavu bádání nejen přísně translatologického (zejména deverbalizační teorie pařížské školy a Gilélv model úsiiO, ale také v oblasti očekávání posluchač(} a vnímané kvality tlumočení. Vedle toho hypotézy čerpaly z některých současných psycholingvistických teorií o využití fonologické paměti (zejména Baddeleyova modelu artikulační smyčky). Na základě těchto teoretických poznatkél byl formulován výzkumný předpoklad, že tlumočníci pracující pro evropské instituce jsou fakticky bilingvní, proto neexistují větší rozdíly v kvalitě obou směrél tlumočení a preference tlumočení do A není založena na objektivních faktorech, a že při poslechu v rodné řeči lze lépe využít fonologickou...

The Choice of Universal Abseiling Aids for the Requirements of the Czech Armed Forces

Title: The Choice of Universal Abseiling Aids for the Requirements of the Czech Armed Forces Objectives: Choosing abseiling - belaying aids in accordance with the needs of the Czech Armed Forces. Methods: A mixed empirical research was involved. In order to analyse the results, closed questionnaires created in MS Excel were produced and evaluated later on. They were split into two phases. The analysis of the relationships of the variables was carried out using methods of descriptive statistics. To collect data, the Delphi research method was used. The survey was conducted in cooperation with chief instructors of military climbing. Respondents were selected according to their qualifications. Results: It was chosen ATC Guide like the most acceptable abseiling aid for the requirements of the Czech armed forces by informant with help research method Delphi. Fiscal Behaviour of municipality within Economic Cycle

The aim of this thesis is to identify fiscal behaviour of municipalities in the Czech Republic within economic cycle. The starting point of this thesis is that municipalities do not have the responsibility for macroeconomic stability, unlike the central level of government, and their preference is sustainability of its own budget. Absence of a motivation for implementing the countercyclical policy leads to a consideration that the behaviour of municipalities is rather procyclical. For the analysis there were used datas of 325 municipalities during the time from 2001 to 2014. The research was designed to test the dependence of the budgetary indicator on the output gap. As a method of exploration there was used the panel regression analysis with random effects estimate for help with robust standard errors in the version of White cross-section method. The results confirmed a statistically significant effect of the output gap on the budgetary indicators, tax revenues, tax on personal income from self-employment and capital expenditures. With the growth of the output gap also tax revenues and revenues from taxes on a personal income from self-employment are growing. With the growth of the output gap capital expenditures are declining. These budgetary indicators are developed countercyclical. A statistically significant effect of the output gap on the other budgetary indicators failed to prove. The main hypothesis of this thesis is not rejected. Budgetary behaviour municipalities in the Czech Republic is influenced by the economic cycle. Fiscal behaviour of municipalities in the Czech Republic within economic cycle is countercyclical.

NATO and the Czech Republic

The main aim of this thesis is to answer the question how the security of the Czech Republic was solved during the Cold War and after it, with the emphasis on the time period after 1989 and the development of the relationship between the Czech Republic and NATO. Special attention is drawn to the political discussion in the Czech Republic before its accession to NATO in 1999.

Science and Army - Science and War (1914-2004)
The publication includes papers given at the conference „Science and army - science and war (1914-2004)“ which took place in Prague in November 2004. The book also includes a round-table discussion on topic „Science and army at the present“. The conference was organized by the Masaryk Institute of the ASCR in cooperation with the Institute of Strategic Studies of the University of Defense in Brno and the Research Centre of History of Science and Humanities in Prague. Most of the papers focus on the various problems of science and military affairs in the 20th century. Some of them also discuss problems of the present military research or the changes of the defensive doctrine of the Czech Republic.

Poland and Czechoslovakia in 1968
In 1968 history of Czechoslovakia and Poland had intertwined. On one hand there was mutual feeling of solidarity on the part of Polish and Czechoslovak societies, on the other hand the Polish military forces participated in the invasion of Warsaw Pact forces, which had ceased the transformations of Prague Spring. Many new information derive from archival documentation which had been recently disclosed. The publication includes materials from Polish-Czech conference.

The issue of minorities in Spain in the 20th and 21 century

Práce se zabývá historickými národnostními menšinami ve Španělsku - Katalánci, Basky a Galicijci. Problematika je studována v kontextu dějin Španělska, mezinárodních vztahů a evropských dějin. Důraz je kladen na 20. a 21. století, obsahuje však také popis starších událostí. V novodobých dějinách je značný prostor věnován separatismu a terorismu národnostních menšin , zejména baskické ETA. Práce vychází také z teoretických studií národnostních menšin.
