Financial crisis impacts on the chosen EU states
Radová, Jana ; Melcher, Ota (advisor) ; Čajka, Radek (referee)
Bachelor's thesis Financial crisis impacts on the chosen EU states analyses the impact of the financial crisis on two particular EU member states, Ireland and Portugal. Even though the root causes were different, both cases experienced similarly devastating effects that made them ask for international financial assistance. Thorough analysis of the anti-crisis governmental policies in the context of chosen macroeconomic indicators will then reveal the level of their effectiveness. Final comparative analysis of the key factors between the two countries will not only show the inadequacies in the economic behavior of these two states in the last decades and the current state of the economies, but will also enable to draw some conclusions on the future evolution of these economies as such.

Quality assessment of products - Environmentally Friendly Products
Böhmová, Dana ; Plášková, Alena (advisor) ; Hykš, Ondřej (referee)
In my thesis I would like to show how to reduce negative impact on the environment that is caused by for example corporations. I insist on the system of ecolabelling in the Czech Republic. But I also pay attention to others voluntary instruments of environmental policy (to concrete the situation I will mention the most important legal standards about environmental legislation, that enable at least a bit of protection of the environment). The basic quiestion and goal of my thesis is to find out, in which aspects the "common" products has changed their character, what is their development that we could call them these days "environmentally friendly" products, where is their "friendship". Other important thing is to tell which groups of products I will judge: paper, environmentaly friendly cars, detergents.

Unemployment and its impact on number of elective surgeries at surgery department
HÁLOVÁ, Magdaléna
SUMMARY A surgery ward is one of the crucial departments in the České Budějovice Hospital. It provides a highly specialized care not only to patients from the district of České Budějovice, but also to people from the whole South-Bohemian region. Nearly 4,000 patients are treated in this ward every year. In my work I focused on a group of people who are able to work, but at the time of hospitalization they had no job and were registered in the employment agency and they came to the surgical ward for optional surgeries. The reasons why they did so could be as follows: they either neglected the care of their health due to a large amount of tasks at work, or they postponed the surgery since they were worried that they could lose their job due to a long sick leave. The objective of the work was to identify the influence of employment on decisions of clients to undergo surgeries. Questionnaires were used to gather data; they were distributed to patients hospitalized in the surgical ward of Nemocnice České Budějovice a.s. (the České Budějovice Hospital). The hypothesis which assumed that people registered in the employment agency for a short time have more surgeries than people registered in the employment agency for a long time was confirmed in the degree work. The second hypothesis assuming that people registered in the employment agency have more optional surgeries than employed people was confirmed as well. The third hypothesis where I assumed that the fees charged for hospital stays would influence the length of hospitalization of unemployed people was not confirmed since political changes resulted in the conclusion of a donation agreement between Nemocnice České Budějovice, a.s. and the South-Bohemian region; the agreement enables people to take advantage of the South-Bohemian region{\crq}s donation to cover the hospital fees starting from 1 February 2009. The results of my work could be used as arguments in solving the unemployment policy.

The domestic violence is very serious and wide-spread phenomenon which appears across the social spectrum despite the people's priorities, education, income, religion or social position. The domestic violence has been quietly tolerated across the centuries. In the Czech Republic it was regarded as a private thing of the partners even till the year 2004 when the paragraph §215a (harassment of the person living in the common household or a house) was included in the penal law. From the 1st January 2007 the police have been allowed to save the victims of the domestic violence already at the very beginning of it and expel the violent person from the common household according to the law number 135/2006 Sb. This enables to stop the wave of the violence and avoid further traumatisation of the endangered person or his or her children. Sufficient number of information about the domestic violence and its features and possibilities of solution of the demanding situation within use of the wider psycho-social services also including the possibility of expelling the violent person is essential assumption to stop the domestic violence in time. Comparison of attitudes of Germany to a minority issue (by way of the examples of Turks in Germany and German minority in Upper Silesia)
Hanuš, Tomáš ; Dubský, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Veselý, Zdeněk (referee)
Since 1950s when the first influx of cheap labour force appeared the social situation changed rapidly. The original labour force managed to get over the denial of the majority society and administrative obstacles and turned into a permanent part, but not part and parcel of the German society. The German government trying to support economic growth decided to use foreign labour force as a less dangerous option for the future. The second option was to allow the admission of foreign capital investments. However, the project which should have been controlled by the migration policy and should enable the foreign workers to satisfy the demand of the German labour market has not met the expectations.
