Losses of catastrophic scale and the effect to insurance market

Thesis shows progression of catastrophic events and their influence on insurance market. Insurance and reinsurance are connected to conception of catastrophes and therefore it is necessary that this thesis firstly presents key features and classification of notion catastrophe itself. For understanding of the notion is important to differentiate between nature and manmade disasters. Next part summarizes large-scale events in 2008, significant events in the past and disasters in Czech Republic. Catastrophic events are analyzed from various angles, but the most important one seems to be insured losses volume. The core of the thesis is concerned with explanation of the disaster trend and its consequences. Key problem of disaster insurance is connected to the question, how to cover catastrophic losses for both, individuals and insurance companies.

Wage accounting

The main task of this thesis is to describe wage accounting in the Czech republic. The theoretical part of the thesis deals in particular with the legal regulations in the area of the Labour code, health and social insurance and taxes. The practical part represents the system of conducting wage accounting and displays the progresses in the calculation (especially differences between 2008 and 2009.)

Historisms in Czech language

Tato rigorózní práce se zabývá dvěma základními tématy. Tím prvním je historismus jako specifický prvek lexikálního systému, druhým místo tohoto jazykového jevu v rámci textů literárních děl Zikmunda Wintra. Nejdříve je provedena komplexní charakteristika historismu jako lexikální jednotky, jejího postavení v systému našeho národního jazyka a jejího užití. Jsou zde shrnuty poznatky, které poskytuje k tomuto tématu autorovi dostupná česká i zahraniční jazykovědná literatura, jež jsou doplněny o vlastní autorova zjištění. Pozornost je věnována i zpracování tohoto typu lexémů v současných českých výkladových slovnících. V další části této práce je stručně charakterizován Wintrův autorský jazyk a způsob, jakým při tvorbě svých literárních děl tento významný spisovatel využíval zastaralých slov. Následná rozsáhlá část textu je pak věnována rozboru historismů, které se objevují v autorem analyzovaných a excerpovaných Wintrových prózách, způsobu, jímž těchto jazykových prostředků uvedený tvůrce užívá, a jejich specifickém místě v jeho autorském jazyce. Risk Process Evaluation

The first part of my work is focused on technology of Oracle. Here are mentioned individual languages, which works with data and different data types. Here is made clear manner, how are data saved in the database. Next I described technology of Apollo, on which information system Apollo is build. Next part of my work is analyze, in which is described present state of evaluation risk process and requests, which are layed on this module. Following chapter is implementation. There are described both database schema and by detail parts of module in a form of strips. Here is at large interpreted the way how to value risk and risk process. This chapter contains print reports for this module as well. The next chapter is dedicated to how module was brought to functioning. Except making this module running in information system Apollo is here a chapter about education of employees. In the closure I present evaluation of reached results, show next development and present my own benefit.

Web services and design of their implementation in DDS system for digital document order

Tématem práce je popis technologie webových služeb a jejich začlenění do systému dodání kopie digitalizovaného dokumentu (DDS) ve Státní technické knihovně. Cílem práce je objasnit princip fungování webových služeb jako prostředku pro komunikaci a přenosu informací napříč systémy, jejich aplikačm'ho využití a navrhnout řešení pomocí této technologie do zmíněného systému DDS. Technologie webových služeb je tvořena třemi základními komponentami - komunikačním protokolem SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol), dokumentem pro jejich popis WSDL (Web Services Description Language) a registry služeb UDDI (Universa! Description, Discovery, and Integration). Tento komunikační a funkční model je vystavěn na značkovacím jazyku XML, jehož část týkající se webových služeb je v práci popsána. Jde o problematiku syntaxe XML, definice datových typů, jmenné prostory a schémata XML. Součástí práce je rovněž přehled o systému DDS obecně a popis a analýza stávajícího řešení systému DDS Státní technické knihovny. Na základě popisu funkcionality webových služeb je zpracován návrh do sytému DDS Státní technické knihovny ve formě WSDL dokumentu, který by mohl sloužit jako základ pro skutečnou implementaci webových služeb v STK. Digital comic

The aim of this work is to give some insight into the enviroment of digital comic and look at what kind of language is this new medium using, what is it´s specific quality. The work should put some light on what we can imagine when we say „Digital comic“, scatch out some possible issues around comics that had been transferd into digital form after they were released like a classical comicbooks. After that I am trying to analyse few works that had been designed specificly for the digital enviroment. At the end I am comparing these works to the classical comicbooks and trying to find out what makes them specific. I´m also finding an answer to the question what are the basis of these digital comics that didn´t lost characteristics of their original comic medium and at the same time were able to absorbed some new media.

Effective tax rate of the company in 2015

This thesis focuses on the effective income tax rate of the company and its comparison with the statutory corporate tax rate. The theoretical part includes general definition of effective tax rate and describes its classification. Furthermore it describes Czech Republic's tax system with a detailed focus on corporate income tax and its calculation. The practical part analyses the effective income tax rate of the company chosen. The ex-post evaluation method has been used to calculate the company's effective income tax rate. This index has been compared with the statutory income tax rate via distortion ratio. The conclusion involves determination of the average effective income tax rate of the related industry and its comparison with the effective taxation indicator calculated.

Formality and informality in pupil´s written speeches

The Bachelor thesis is called "Formal and informal language in pupil´s writing," it mainly deals with non-standard elements in written form (errors in phonetics, in grammar, (il)logicality in speech..). The thesis is divided into two main parts, the first part is theoretical, it summarizes the most important findings about children's writing skills with its features and the most common mistakes. The second part is practical, written on the basis of research and subsequent analysis of written expressions of sixth grade students. The main goal of the thesis is to provide information about the issue and subsequently confirm or disprove the assumptions stated in the theoretical part, or possibly help the students who wish to avoid these inaccuracies in writing.

Intellectual property protection by Customs

The aim of this thesis is to detect the causes, extent and means of breaching the intellectual property rights, including its negative consequences from the point of supervisory activities of the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic. Also to suggest possible measures to enhance the service and to eliminate any imperfections in the legislative, its abidance or in organization and work management if found. The thesis is divided into two parts theoretical and practical. The theoretical part contains, according to the author, the most important international treaties, conventions and agreements, as well as the European Union law and the national legislation. In the practical part the author states his opinion on the legislation concerning the protection of intellectual property rights, brief classification of the intellectual property rights and it introduces the controlling authority including the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic and its procedures towards the goods that breaches the intellectual property. Furthermore, it presents the statistic data concerning the seized goods. The thesis states the penalties for breaching the intellectual property rights, for both the administrative delicts and criminal offences. It also contains a questionnaire carried out within the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic which purpose was to find out their opinion on the legislation, organization and work management in the field of intellectual property. The results are analysed in the conclusion of the thesis and it presents the imperfections in the areas stated above. The author suggests suitable adjustments to eliminate these imperfections according to his best judgement even though he is not a lawyer. Finally the author reviews the issues mentioned throughout the whole thesis and summarizes the aim of the thesis.
