SPATIAL DATA IN ORACLE DATABASE
Hanuš, Ondřej ; Chlapek, Dušan (advisor) ; Krch, David (referee)
More and more applications work with digital geographical data is occurring in the present era. Users of these applications are more and more ambitious and are looking for applications that are able to assist them and give them information as simply as possible. One example of this typical information is: the shortest way to work. There are still more causes when we lose paper data because of natural disasters such as floods or hurricanes and these press us to consider data digitalization, saving and archiving data. This work describes one of the themes that should help us to solve this problem. This theme is storing and the manipulation of geographical data. Geographical data involves the problems of geographical information systems which are very often requested in the present digital era. There are many applications that are able to navigate us to a target on the internet. This problematic is not only about to find the shortest way to a target but also a lot of companies use these applications for planning and developing industrial networks, house development and they are also useful in connection with applications for facility management. Spatial data uses geographical data, and thus it is very easy to imagine that the amount of this data could very quickly reach size in hundreds of terabytes. For this size of data it is necessary to find an appropriate warehouse and mainly efficient management. This functionality is offered by the most extended database ORACLE with Oracle Spatial extension.

Women in the countryside in the time of the reign of the House of Přemysl
Faltusová, Zuzana ; Žemlička, Josef (referee) ; Bláhová, Marie (advisor)
Medieval Woman has been a very popular topic In the European historicalliterature within last fifty years. I have chosen a theme of a W oman in countryside in early medieval Bohemia. Despite the low number of historical sources, I have selected a few topics, which are not only describable, but also very interesting. My essay is based on the Bohemian medieval sources like records and chronic1es, but also on the results of archeological excavations or medieval paintings. And further, I used not only the literature of the Czech historians, but also the German and English books about that period and questions. I did not seek to write about single women and the single history of their life, but I tried to describe the world of them - the society, countryside, time and the other aspects. The first big theme was the woman and her family and also the path of her life. The second topic is about the world around her. The village, where she lived, the house of her family, things she used day by day and so on. Another part speaks about the labor of women - their typical work like spinning, weaving or cooking and taking care of the house animals. The two chapters which are most based on the sources research are about the names of medieval countryside women and about the mysterious women ofthe records.

The aim of this thesis is to explore the phenomenon of the Harlem Renaissance as not only an artistic but also a socio-political movement in American history. I shall try to trace its historical conditions, its ideology and accomplishments. Introducing its main intellectualleaders--scholars as well as men of belles-Iettres, I will take an insight into the ambience of cultural events and discussions that they created and comment on the diversity of attitudes toward the role of the African American in American society that they launched. Among the most prominent and influential intellectuals who fathered the Movement were Alain LeRoy Locke, W. E. B. Du Bois, James Weldon Johnson and Charles S. Johnson. The second target of this thesis is to examine one of the outstanding literary voices of this period. Out of the many artists who began their career during the Harlem Renaissance-and one should name at least Langston Hughes, Countee Cull en, Claude McKay and Jean Toomer--I chose the personality of Zora Neale Hurston as a representative of the unconventional black female artist of this time. In my focus were Hurston' s artistic aims to ground the Black identity as opposed, and sometimes even parallel, to some of her contemporaries. Hurston' s former friend, later a rival, Langston Hughes would probably be her...
