Photography and new media - changes in visual narrative approach.
Zoulová, Tereza ; Láb, Filip (advisor) ; Slanec, Jaroslav (referee)
The work deals with the changes that brought the photos to new media. In summary provides insight into history of first attempts in this field to the invention and development of digital camera. It also deals with the presentation of photographs at the time of new media. It especially pays attention to the Internet, which greatly contributed to the mass dissemination of images of both professional photographers and the amateur. It points out that availability of digital cameras and the Internet are the main cause of changes in both taking and presentation. It analyzes different ways of online presentations from older like personal websites and blogs, to the latest - social networks. The social networks are in middle of interest, as they spread through photographs recorded a large increase and the largest deviation from professional presentations, such as galleries. The last part deals with examples of journalistic practice. Weekly Respekt serves as an example of media that the most brief form, ie black and white newspaper, developed to color magazine and websites. So it is possible to compare the changes caused both by transition from one technology to another, as well as by concurrent presentations on the web. The second example is the photo agency Magnum Photos. Here are discussed the changes...

Definition of a refugee under international law
Burová, Petra ; Honusková, Věra (advisor) ; Hýbnerová, Stanislava (referee)
Refugee definition in international law The definition of the term "refugee" in international law is a very wide issue which can be conceived from many different points of view. One of the best ways how to deal with it is to focus on only one part of the generally most widely accepted definition of a refugee. This is the definition according to the 1951 Geneva Convention relating to the Status of Refugees. According to this document a refugee is a person who "owing to a well-founded fear of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, membership of a particular social group, or political opinion, is outside the country of his nationality, and is unable to or, owing to such fear, is unwilling to avail himself of the protection of that country..." This definition is more than fifty years old and still actual. It has been adopted in response to the Second World War and the mass refugee flood. The missing interpretation of the term "persecution", which is the fundamental element of the Geneva Convention refugee definition, is still one of the biggest problems of refugee law. The aim of my thesis is to find out whether the missing definition of the term "persecution" is really such a serious imperfection as it is brought out sometimes. I try to answer this question through researching the...

Trade-off between egg size and number at the level of bird families
Špaldoňová, Alexandra ; Hořák, David (advisor) ; Reif, Jiří (referee)
Trade-off between offspring size and number belongs to the most discussed concepts in the life history theory. The aim of this study was to elucidate the relationship between egg size, clutch size and female body mass at the family level in bird's and to examine whether there is the relationship between offspring size and number and life history traits specific for particular bird families. From published sources, I collected data about 5.073 species belong in 146 families. Most species of birds lay smaller clutches, on average three eggs. In 112 families from 130 tested eggs size was positively correlated with female body mass. There is evidence that egg size and clutch size are inversely related in 83 families from 130 tested but only for 34 families was significant. The relationship exists independently of female body mass across bird families and this suggests a trade-off between these traits. The relationship between the strength and shape of egg size-number correlations and life history characteristics of bird families was not frequent. According to results, the strength of correlation seems to be related to development mode and diet type. The negative egg size-number correlation is stronger when incubation period and fledging time is longer and in birds with longer lifespan. The...

At problems of regular and irregular - chaotic motions in faintly and strongly nonlinear gearing systems
Hortel, Milan ; Škuderová, Alena
The dynamic force is the basis for the minimalization of mass and measures of engineering structures. Gear pair models which mostly approximate the real fact lead to the solution and analysis of nonlinear differential equations with time variable structure.

The motivation of children for the entrance to the Art School
ŠŤÁVOVÁ, Martina
This bachelor thesis called "The motivation of children for the entrance to the Art School" occupies with the leisure time in the theoretical part and point out its main functions and characteristics that influence children. The most important factors are the family, school, peer group, mass media and information technologies. Another chapter is dedicated to the development of hobbies in different periods of children´s lives. In the theoretical part play very important role terms such as: motivation, motive, need, interest, value, attitude, primary and secondary motivational system and relation between motivation and emotions. The subchapter "talent" dedicates to the definition of the term talent, classification of talent and also to the characteristics of the artistic talent that includes the musical talent, dancing talent, literary talent and drama talent. The last topic of the theoretical part is focused on Art schools. The author focuses on the education of talented students and also students with special educational needs. The main target of this bachelor thesis is to find out the main motivation of children for the entrance to the Art School in Trebic, the motivation for choosing the particular activity and why and how long students do this activity. The theoretical part is based on the quantitative survey, method of questioning, questionnaire. The research group S1 is formed by the students of the Art School and the research group S2 is formed by their parents. The research group S3 is formed by the teachers of the Art School. The results of the survey show that the main motive for the entrance to the Art School is the family and the interest in the particular activity. The average length of the time dedicated to each activity is 5,7 years and includes boys attending the musical department. The result 5,5 years shows that the girls are attending the musical department shorter time. The lowest result is 2,3 years and includes boys attending the dancing and the drama department. The average length of the attendance of girls at the drama department is 3 years. The survey has shown that the main reason, why the students spend their leisure time at the Art School is that they enjoy the activities the school offers. The research shows that the students are satisfied with the Art School and they do not want to finish their studies. The parents of the students have expressed the satisfaction with the education as well. The author asked the research groups S1 and S2 if the students would like to become professionals and both of these research groups said "maybe". On the other hand a lot of teachers mean that among their students are these who could become professionals because of their talent, specific skills, desire and interest. Totally 66% of teachers say that some of their students have become professionals. The research has shown that the students are very creative during their workshops and that they need particular dispositions such as: skills and talent to be able to graduate at the Art School. Concerning the handicapped students, it is not unusual to meet them at the Art School and more than 45% of teachers have taught them during their career. When talking about the graduation of the handicapped students, the teachers have rated this fact very positively and added that it is very important to create an individual education plan and adapt to the requirements of each student considering the handicap and possibilities of these students.

Journalist's freedom of expression in the light of European convention on human rights and case law of European court of human rights
Lopour, Martin ; Balaš, Vladimír (referee) ; Hubálková, Eva (referee)
114 6. Summary "Freedom of expression constitutes one of the essential foundations of a democratic society and one of the basic conditions for its progress and for each individual's self-fulfilment."320 A journalist is a person who tests the above mentioned statement through his work almost every day. "Although journalists, or the media for that matter, are not mentioned in paragraph 1 of Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, which is devoted to freedom of expression, a great deal of the case-law of the European Court of Human Rights concerns journalists and the proper functioning of the mass media. Media professionals are typically the main beneficiaries of a liberal freedom of expression regime. When States decide to clamp down on freedom of expression the journalists are the first to be affected. In this body of case-law the Court has laid down several principles that apply in cases concerning journalists and the media."321 This thesis entitled Journalists' Freedom of Expression in the Light of European Convention on Human Rights322 and Case Law of European Court of Human Rights323 reacts on fact that this subject-matter has not been so far systematically analysed in Czech written literature. The intention of this paper was to fulfill the gap because it is undisputed that journalists'...

The study of influence of inorganic pigments on the identification of egg tempera by mass spectrometry
Čámská, Lucie ; Hynek, Radovan (referee) ; Hrdličková Kučková, Štěpánka (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out in what way inorganic pigments influence the identification of egg and yolk tempera using mass spectrometry MALDITOF (matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight). The other aim was to prepare a set of model color layers including ten inorganic pigments combined with the egg and yolk tempera. Using the method of peptide mass fingerprinting mass spectra of the samples were found out and the obtained peptides were compared. Finally the egg tempera was distinguished from the yolk tempera and it was found which pigments negatively influenced the identification of the temperas. The m/z values were found out for both temperas and they were used to upgrade database of the reference proteinaceous binders that have been used in art works.

Alien's registration office
Libichová, Lenka ; Tomandl, Miloš (referee) ; Šatava, Leoš (advisor)
This Bachelor's thesis deals with the relationship between immigrants and the Alien's Registration Office in the Czech Republic. The thesis should be divided into two parts. The first one - Chapters 2 and 3 - summarizes the theoretical view. That is the structure and the history of the Alien's Registration Office, the structure of the immigrants and the introduction to the legal issues. However, the Alien's Registration Office is developing and the laws are changing very quickly, so the thesis is going to be past. The second part - Chapters 4 and 5 - deals with the practical problems of the Alien's Registration Office reflected in the mass media and literature and also includes the field research. The most criticized problems are the queues associated with a long waiting, a shortage of officers which are often unpleasant and the clientelism which is associated with bribery. The Alien's Registration Office tries to solve these problems, but it is a 'fight' for a long time.

Records of dose parameters in radiodiagnostic workplaces - contemporary state
MRÁZOVÁ, Monika
The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the characteristics of ionizing radiation. It explains the interaction of ionizing radiation with substance and cells. Attention is also paid to the mechanism of damage caused to the cells of the human body. It explains the basic principles of radiation protection. The paper describes the function of the ionization chamber, as the most common device used in dosimetry of ionizing radiation. A large section is devoted to formulas, which are routinely used to determine the effective doses. It explains basic indicator of obesity, body mass index, which has a significant impact on the dose received by a patient during examination. At the end of the theoretical part, hospital information systems and programs, offered by companies for record keeping of batch parameters at radiodiagnostic workplaces, are mentioned. An integral part is also the legislation which governs the registration of batch parameters, not only in the Czech Republic, but also in the European Union. The practical part of the bachelor thesis provides a comparison of two radiodiagnostic sites. Furthermore, an analysis of data provided by the database of Radiodiagnostic Department of the University Hospital in Plzeň - Bory was conducted in the practical part of the thesis. Due to the increasing number of computer tomography, 20 most dose-intensive examinations were selected. What examination it was and what could cause such a high dose was examined.
