Development Policy of the European Union with Focus on Colombia

Bc. Malá, Václava: Development Policy of the European Union with a view to Colombia, Prague. Josef Abrhám, Ph.D. The thesis focuses on the issue of the evolution of development policy and administration of development aid by the European Union as whole (i.e. the European Commission) as well as by individual member states. The case study looking into Colombia analyses putting the development policy and development assistance into practice. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter defines historical links between the European and developing countries, stipulates basic notions connected to the issue as well as defines the European Union institutions having development policy and development assistance in their respective agendas. Various forms of development aid are described at the end of the first chapter. The second chapter deals with prospective trends in the progress of development policy and development aid. Therefore, the Lisbon Treaty and the 10th European Development Fund are analysed in particular. The third chapter focuses on how development policy and development assistance are exercised in the Colombian case. The conclusion of the thesis contains a statement about a substantial importance of European Union in the field of granting international development assistance.

The search for extraterrestrial intelligence

Work is on the search for extraterrestrial civilizations. This topic has become the development of the Internet, and SETI @ HOME most popular. The Internet and SETI @ HOME is possible on home computers perform calculations with data from the Arecibo radio telescope, located in Puerto Rico. Most of the attention I devoted screensaver SETI @ HOME, which is described in detail in the work and form the basis of SETI projects. I have also outlined new projects in this area and the final section I devoted Kepler space probe, which is responsible for looking at distant stars, terrestrial planets.

The state support for environmental protection

The diploma thesis focuses on the state support for environmental protection in the Czech Republic and mainly the allocations from the state budget and from the State environmental fund. In the first part is defined the role of the state by supporting environment with looking on the actual stadium of environment and its reasons. Subsequently are analyzed the forms of state support and is discussed the question of the sense of the State environmental fund existence. The last part is devoted to the looking on the concrete public expenses in the environment and their efficiency.

Legal aspects of the indoor production of liquors and certified distillation The author analyzes all possible crimes, which can be comitted in the indoor production of liquors or during certified distillation. Firstly, he defines key terms and provides the sources important for the field of liquor production, provides information about history of liquors making and explains how the certified distillation works. The thesis also includes the author's own definition of yet undefined legal concept of the indoor liquor production. In the section devoted to the analysis of individual crimes, the author first looks at the offense of illegal production of alcohol, which has been excluded from the criminal Code. The recent health crisis in Czech republic called Methanol affair is described in the thesis as well with connection to indoor production of liquors and certified distillation. The part about the Methanol affair also describes why the crisis happened and what were the consequences for people living in Czech republic (prohibition, death of many citizens, injuries etc.) Detailed examination in relation to the indoor production of liquors and certified distillation is provided to crimes against life and health, economic crimes and to generally dangerous crimes. The aim of this work is to give some insight into the enviroment of digital comic and look at what kind of language is this new medium using, what is it´s specific quality. The work should put some light on what we can imagine when we say „Digital comic“, scatch out some possible issues around comics that had been transferd into digital form after they were released like a classical comicbooks. After that I am trying to analyse few works that had been designed specificly for the digital enviroment. At the end I am comparing these works to the classical comicbooks and trying to find out what makes them specific. I´m also finding an answer to the question what are the basis of these digital comics that didn´t lost characteristics of their original comic medium and at the same time were able to absorbed some new media.

Entry of Manufacturing Firm to the EU Market

This diploma thesis considers the possibility for Ukrainian manufacturing company entry into the Czech market. The diploma thesis aim is to analyze the possibility for the Ukrainian company entry to the Czech Republic and to choose an optimal form of an entrance. And on the basis of these results to offer the standardized method for the entry of the Ukrainian company into the European market. For achievement of the diploma thesis aim the most used methods are analysis, synthesis and comparison. Main analytical tools are Porter's five forces analysis and PEST analysis. Approach to the choice of the best form for an expansion to foreign markets can be used by the companies in case of making decision on geographical diversification of its zone of sale.

Culture-based aspect of Hyundai's communication in Czech Republic

This thesis aspires to introduce the question of cultural influence on forms and character of marketing communication. It explains the main approaches to intercultural marketing and more closely looks at Hofstede's theory of cultural dimensions. With regards to the specifics of Korean society, marketing communication of Hyundai in the Czech Republic is introduced based on this theoretical background. Attention is paid especially to the communication style of Hyundai as recognized in PR and CSR tools. The outcome of this thesis is an explanation of marginalized culture-based aspects of Hyundai's communication and a general evaluation of the company's adaptation process in a culturally different environment.

The diploma thesis brings the marketing study of company Aquasvět Chomutov. The own thesis is about the theory that gave a basic data for used methods and processes. Includes basic terms of marketing used in thesis. In practical part there is an introduction of the subject of thesis Aquasvět Chomutov. There are analyses made for main analysis SWOT, for its use. These are financial analysis and the competition analysis and the analysis of surroundings. Thanks to given data from used analysis it was possible to make SWOT analysis that showed weak and strong points of the company. There was also the marketing research made to show the meaning of customers and the way how they look at the company. At the end of the thesis there are suggested actions for improving the customer meaning and the attendance of the studied subject and the conclusion of given data.

The Czech and Italian non-profit sector : different and therefore uncomparable systems

Bachelor thesis The Czech and Italian Non-profit sector: Different and Therefore Uncomparable Systems offers an overview of the functioning of non-profit organizations in the Czech Republic and Italy. The main part is divided into two sections so each country is given a separate section. In the beginning is always summarized a historical development and events that most influenced the later development of the nonprofit sector. Next there are introduced types and forms of non-profit organizations, some of legislation arrangements and other basic information. In the analytical part I paid attention to various aspects of current affairs in particular sectors, i.e. new opportunities arising from the Czech accession to the EU or closer introduction of the main types of Italian non-profit organizations. Part of this section is also a general overview suggesting a relationship of local economies to their non-profit sectors. Finally, there is presented one selected Czech and Italian non-profit organization. I concluded my work with an unusual ending which explains the inability to compare the above mentioned sectors.
