Regulation of parameters of biological activity of colorectal cancer
Svobodová, Šárka ; Svačina, Štěpán (advisor) ; Beneš, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vízek, Martin (referee)
Colorectal cancer (CRC) has been considered to be the most frequent cancer disease based on prevalence rate and mortality rate. The earlier diagnostics provides the better therapy outcomes. Many new laboratory tests and techniques for early detection of CRC have been developed recently. Not many of the can be used for daily routine clinical practice so far. The aim of this dissertation thesis was to measure a large spectrum of parameters in patients with early stage of CRC and to evaluate them for routine practice, as they may play a potential regulatory role in cancer development and control process. (...) Our finding of a very low sensitivity of tumor markers CEA and CA 19-9 for CRC in early stages I.-III. is fully corresponding with literature data. When monitoring some parameters during chemotherapy course we have found that only TK seems to be important for adjuvant therapy control, but TK and CEA and CA 19-9 can be used of palliative therapy monitoring. TK increases after every chemotherapy cycle but it decreases before the beginning of the following cycle if the therapy is successful. But it is continuously increasing if the therapy is unsuccessful. CEA and CA 19-9 are permanently within reference intervals in adjuvant therapy. Before palliative therapy beginning all the parameters are elevated and...

The principle of end-focus in biblical narrative
Nováková, Eliška ; Dušková, Libuše (advisor) ; Čermák, Jan (referee)
The present study attempts to outline the influence of the principle of end-focus in a Biblical narrative by means of the theory of functional sentence perspective (FSP). It focuses on different types of interaction between two word order principles: the linearity principle of FSP, which places the communicatively most important element (rheme) at the end (end-focus), and the principle of grammatical word order, which in English requires SVOAdv(s) ordering of clause elements. Following a previous research in the field carried out on contemporary fiction, the textual material is analysed from the viewpoint of the following groups: (1) a group with clauses that adhere to both principles, (2) a group displaying violation of grammatical word order, and (3) a group displaying violation of the principle of end-focus. The fourth group is constituted by the so called transformed structures (in opposition to basic structures in the first three groups), i.e. clauses which with special devices to align the clause elements in agreement with both principles (such as the passive construction). This group is treated both separately, and in relation to the other three. As the study is intended to be diachronically comparative, the analysis is done on three versions of the same text: the Old Testament book of Esther in the...

Impact of ethnic war in Sri Lanka on social status of Tamil women
Hrdličková, Zuzana ; Vrhel, František (advisor) ; Štěpánová, Irena (referee) ; Knotková, Blanka (referee)
This PhD Thesis focuses on the relationship between war and gender, contextually set in Sri Lanka. It describes theoretical categories and specific gender issues typical to war, such as universal gendering of war and impact on the whole gender structure of war affected societies. The work then focuses on Tamil society in Sri Lanka: it shows the roots of contemporary Tamil female gender stereotype - old Dravidian belief in the female power of anangu and the ancient Hindu Law of Manu. These have resulted into twentieth century Sri Lankan Tamil female gender stereotyping, centred on the concept of kapu (chastity), i.e. self-controlled behaviour in every aspect of female existence stressing virginity in unmarried women, their limited interaction with the opposite sex and highlighting the most auspicious state of a woman - in marriage. Structuring women as chaste implied before the war their role was mainly in the domestic sphere, with very limited interaction with the world outside their homes and neighbourhoods. However, the Sri Lankan ethnic conflict (as described in this work), which started in the 1980s and continues until now, has had a serious impact on the lives of the majority of Sri Lankan Tamil civilians and their societal norms and constructions. Death of many men, displacement and destruction has...

Problems of patients with left ventricular asisst device and access nursing sisters.
CHAMROVÁ, Anna
In my thesis we devote to problems of patients with the implanted system HeartMate II, which is now approved as a support for an indication to bridging the time to heart transplantation and for a destination therapy for patients with a refractory heart failure. We also devote to the access of nurses to these patients. The theoretical part of the thesis is generally devoted to mechanical cardiac supports and indications to their introduction. Next part describes HeartMate II, specifics of the nursing care for a patient who is after implantation mechanical cardiac support HeartMate II and limitations, which follow for a patient at home. The target of the work is to: 1. Find out, what the priorities of needs of the patient with a mechanical cardiac support are in a nursing care. 2. Find out, how the patient with a mechanical cardiac support perceives himself and his future. 3. Find out possibilities of nursing interventions to a saturation of needs by priorities of patients with mechanical cardiac supports. For the qualitative part of the empirical research the method of questioning with technique a semi-structured interview with opened questions was chosen. The research group consists of four patients after the implantation of left-hand mechanical cardiac supports HeartMate II. In this part we were finding out answers to four research questions. 1. Which damaged needs are predominant by patients with mechanical cardiac supports? 2. Do patients with mechanical cardiac supports have enough information about possible complications related to the life after the implantation of a mechanical support? 3. How does the patient with a mechanical cardiac support perceive his future? 4. How does the patient with the mechanical cardiac support HeartMate II perceive himself? Then results of research were analyzed and written into schemes. In the quantitative part of the research four hypotheses were determined. 1. Interventions of nurses during a nursing care which is oriented to monitoring of vital functions are predominant over the orientation of needs that are changed by the life with a mechanical cardiac support. 2. Nurses are available to answer to patients with mechanical cardiac supports questions which are related to a service of the device HeartMate II. 3. Nurses are well informed about possible complications after the implantation of the left-hand mechanical support. 4. Nursing interventions of nurses are predominant over interventions of the other members of the team during the care of patient after the implantation of the left-hand mechanical cardiac support. The research group of the research consists of nurses, who are working at the department with beds, the intensive care unit of clinic of a cardiovascular surgery and at the resuscitation department of an anaesthesiology and resuscitation in IKEM. 95 respondents were addressed. The returnability of questionnaires was 69% from the beginning number. On the basis of the result of the research we think that targets were fulfilled. Patients have enough information about complications related with the life with the mechanical cardiac support HeartMate II. Patients consider a satisfaction of psychical needs, especially the feeling of a safety and a security, as a priority, although they are highly specific problems. In this view a psychotherapeutic access and a therapeutic communication of a nurse with a patient are important. We are going to hand results of the research over to the management of IKEM. A thematic schedule of a tutorial was created. This tutorial engaged in psychic needs of a patient, a psychotherapeutic access of nurses and a therapeutic communication with a patient.

Analysis of menu cards at choice primary school from aspect of advised nutritional doses
BARTOŠ, Ladislav
Diploma thesis is based on the research which was carried out at the Primary school Velešín in the school year 2007/2008 and was focused on the pupils of fifth, seventh and ninth grades. The objective of the thesis was the analysis of the menus to find out saturation by macro-nutrients and selected micro-nutrients according to the nutritional requirements for school children. Research investigation might be divided into four parts. First part lied in the collection of the menus for the school year, their analysis in the programme NutriDan and following comparison to the norm of need of a school lunch, which is 35 % of a total daily nutritional dose. In the second part the variety of menus was assessed on the basis of repetition rate of particular meals in the school canteen in a month. The third part was the carrying out a questionnaire research of eating habits in pupils. In the fourth part the testing hypotheses were statistically assessed by means of chi-square distribution test. Out of gained results it was found out that required energy was fulfilled only in girls of ninth grade. The fulfilment was at the level 36.14{--}38.29 % of recommended daily dose (RDD). In other grades the energy was undervalued. Proteins were over the limit through the whole year. In the pupils of the fifth grade the fulfilment was in the interval 72.66{--}98.24 % of RDD (the average was 84.7 %), in the pupils of the seventh grade in the interval 55.28{--}74.22 % of RDD (the average was 64.2 %) and in the pupils of ninth grade in the interval 64.93{--}103.15 % of RDD (the average was 82 %). The fulfilment of carbohydrates was insufficient. In the fifth grade it was in the interval 18.81{--}25.35 % of RDD, in the seventh grade only in the interval 16.27{--}23.52 % of RDD and in ninth grade in the interval 21.54{--}29 % of RDD. The intake of lipids was excessive in the girls of the ninth grade (37.56{--}46.21 % of RDD). The fibre was in the norm of need. Out of the observed micronutrients calcium was deficient; the fulfilment was not over 21.62 % of RDD in the pupils of the fifth grade, in the pupils of the seventh grade 19.82 % of RDD. In the pupils of the ninth grade the fulfilment was in the interval 21.37{--}27.86 % of RDD. Through the whole year, vitamins B6 and B12 were over the limit. By the assessment of variety the low rates of leguminous soups, fish, fruit and vegetables were found out. Pork meat and sweet meals were excessive in several months. In boys increasing trend of Body Mass Index (BMI) depending on their age was evident; with higher age more respondents left out breakfast and had lunch more off the school canteen, which might be one of the causes of overweight or obesity in children. The consumption of fruit and vegetables was insufficient. Tested hypotheses proved the following: physical activity did not depend on respondents{\crq} sex; respondents{\crq} BMI depended on regular consumption of breakfast, time spent at a TV set and a computer did not depend on the age of respondents.

The future of central banking in the economic system of developed countries on a basis of evalution of the experience from the last decade
Vilt, Lukáš ; Ševčík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Munzi, Tomáš (referee)
Thesis is dealing with the development of the central banking on the basis of experience from the last decade. Hypothesis is the statement, whether the central banks of the developed economies are increasingly less capable of the effective reactions on the accelerating development of the global economy and their position in the money emission and regulation of the banking sector is and will be more and more weakened by the alternative banking and monetary systems. This hypothesis is successfully disproved because of the behavior of the four chosen central banks which are CNB, FED, ECB and BoJ. The main reason was an increase in their activities and interventions causing among others multiplication of their balance sheets. On the other hand the alternative in the free banking is further from the reality than before. Virtual currencies also did not show threatening growth of the national currencies substitution in the reference period. Thesis also provides insight into new and potentially new instruments of the central banks.

Snaha o regulaci retailového bankovnictví ? přínos či ztráta pro klienta
Čáp, Ondřej ; Ševčík, Miroslav (advisor) ; Halás, Vladimír (referee)
Bankovní sektor procházel v posledních patnácti letech procesem transformace, privatizace a implementace technologických změn.

Electrochemical determination of 2-nitrofluorene and investigation of its interaction with DNA
Skalová, Štěpánka ; Stávková, K. ; Barek, J. ; Vyskočil, V.
2-Nitrofluorene (2-NF) belongs to the group of nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. These compounds are categorized as environmental pollutants and they can manifest mutagenic and carcinogenic effects. A differential pulse voltammetric method at a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) was developed for sensitive determination of 2-NF. Under the optimum conditions found, a linear calibration dependence was obtained in the concentration range of 2 x 10(-7) - 1 x 10(-5) mol L-1, with the limit of quantification of 2 x 10 mol L-1. The practical applicability of this method was verified on the direct determination of 2-NF in a model sample of sand. Moreover, the mutual interaction between 2-NF and DNA was investigated using an electrochemical DNA biosensor (DNA-modified GCE). Cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and square-wave voltammetry were employed in this study, confirming the formation of a 2-NF-DNA complex.\n

Yellow rust protection on the wheat
Hanzalová, Alena ; Bartoš, Pavel
Heavy incidence of yellow rust in the years 2014 and 2015 has proved high deleterious effects of this rust. For this reason this publication deals with yellow rust on wheat. Rusts on wheat cause losses every year. In the years of an epidemic yield can be decreased by more than a half. Epidemics of stem rust and yellow rust occur in irregular intervals. Leaf rust causes damage every year particularly in central and southern part of Moravia. Chemical control limits yield losses, however in the case of heavy rust incidence this control particularly on susceptible cultivars is not sufficient. Repeated chemical treatments increase the costs and are limited by phytosanitary regulations. Economic and ecologic rust control consists in resistance breeding and growing resistant cultivars. Knowledge of virulence in the rust poppulation and suitable sources of resistance are prerequisites for successful resistance breeding. This publication presents a summary of data from literature on the yellow rust on wheat. Data on resistance of the grown cultivars and possibilities of the chemical control are included.
