French reception of Czech written novels by Milan Kundera
Jelenová, Tereza ; Hrbata, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bílek, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with French acceptance of and reaction to Czech written novels by Milan Kundera which were published in France between 1979 and 1990. The thesis presents French reception of three books: The Book of Laughter and Forgetting, The Unbearable Lightness of being and Immortality. We are approching the pieces by applying the receptional and aestetical theory. The aim is to present that one work can be read in many ways, then we illustrate concretely how the opinions of the reviewers differ, how they comprehend the novels and how they describe them. The thesis is divided into ten parts. There is an introduction, the second part (theoretic base), the third part (short presentation of French press), three big parts named after three novels, whose French reception we are dealing with, a conclusion, a summary in Czech, a summary in English and a bibliography. Each of the three big chapters is also divided into smaller chapters, in which we subdivide the reception of literary context, the reception of genre, characters, themes and composition and also the evaluation of author and his novel. In the conclusion, we resume the development of the image of Milan Kundera and his novel in French reception, we describe the metaphors in the language of reviewers and we submit the analysis of the French press. Living Europe: the alien impressions of Henry James and Lambert Strether
Manire, Damian Peter ; Roraback, Erik Sherman (referee) ; Procházka, Martin (advisor)
Lambert Strether's position in The Ambassadors is, in my view, a metafictional allegory for James's techniques of authorial perspective. As Donald Stone notes, "It was James's contribution to fiction that [...] he not only codified the subjective nature of the novelist, but transformed the hero of fiction into a limited [...] observer."170 James effectively expresses his authorial consciousness in a novel that courts a more complicated delegation of positional plays between reader, author, and subject. Thus, I disagree with William Stowe's assertion that The Ambassadors' theme of "how life can and ought to be lived" presents problems for which neither the novel's subject nor author "has a solution, problems that challenge the reader to [sic] reexamine the very valuation of European experience which the texts seems also to be promoting."171 Considering James's formal virtuosity, it becomes clear that James has more to express to the reader than the "valuation of European experience."172 Indeed, I hope it has been made clear over these last pages that "the solution" for how "to live" is fixed in Jamesian aestheticism. James broadcasts a double perspective that simultaneously engages the aesthetic along the social fissures of modernity, producing "masterpieces of presentational technique"173 to cite Malcolm...

Estimate of Capital Services in the Czech Republic
Hudrlíková, Lenka ; Fischer, Jakub (advisor) ; Ondruš, Vítězslav (referee)
This diploma paper discusses the importance of implementation of capital into the system national accounts. The purpose of this work is an estimation of capital services for real data of the Czech Republic. Conducted its own calculation is first such comprehensive estimate of the capital services, which was made. The diploma paper is divided into three parts. In the first part there is a explaination of concept of capital services and the methods of estimation and possible ways of calculating the necessary data. In the second part there is already done my own calculations of estimate of capital services used the methodology recommended by the OECD, but subject to certain adjustments, which are better suited to national conditions. Due to the volume of data all the calculations are listed in the Annex. In the text work is illustrative example of one sector of economic activity and the economy as a whole. The last section deals with experimental estimates of impact of capital services on macroeconomic aggregates, particularly gross domestic product. Other possibilities obtained an estimate of capital services, it is possible to estimate multi-factor productivity. Capital services can be used to express the input of capital.

The issue of taking capillary blood for glycemia
KOPAČKOVÁ, Lucie
The proper technique of capillary blood sampling to determine the level of glycemia plays an important role in diagnostics and therapy of diabetes mellitus. There has been a large shift in this disease in recent years, especially in diagnostics and treatment. It is a disease characterized by high blood sugar levels. In practice, it often happens that although it is a procedure nurses carry out almost daily, during capillary blood sampling to determine the level of glycemia, a number of errors occurs. This fact inspired me to write a bachelor thesis on the topic "The issue of capillary blood sampling to determine the level of glycemia?. The empirical part of the thesis deals with both the disease Diabetes Mellitus itself and the capillary blood sampling. In the introductory part history and definition of diabetes are given, the causes of the disease, complications, diagnostics and treatment of Diabetes Mellitus are described. The issue of capillary blood sampling to determine the levels of glycemia is discussed in detail, as well as the recommended procedure of capillary blood sampling and devices designed for the sampling . The practical part of the thesis is focused on selected objectives, research questions and hypotheses. The objective of the research was to identify the factors that may affect the results of the examination, to find out whether nurses follow the recommended procedure for capillary blood sampling and to identify the most common errors nurses make during the sampling. To achieve the objectives both quantitative and qualitative research surveys were carried out. The qualitative research was conducted by observations of six nurses working in inpatient wards in České Budějovice Hospital, plc, supplemented by interviews with the nurses. The three research questions can be answered as follows. The most common factors that may affect the test results is poor sample handling, sample exposure to unsuitable temperature conditions, and forced squeeze of blood from a finger. While collecting capillary blood nurses often make mistakes in communicating with the patient, when they do not give information about the performed punction and do not properly explain the whole procedure to the patient. They wash their hands before blood sampling without using a disinfectant. The interviews gave the answer to the last research question that the most common problem the nurses are aware of during capillary blood sampling is forced squeeze of blood from a finger, poor disinfection of the punction site and a delayed transport to the laboratory. Qualitative research survey was supplemented by quantitative research, which consisted of 66 observations of capillary blood sampling, which were carried out by nurses in České Budějovice Hospital, plc. This research survey was conducted to verify the results obtained from the qualitative research. This hypothesis was formulated: H1: During capillary blood sampling to determine the level of glycemia nurses most often make mistakes in communication with the patient. Based on the quantitative research, it has been found out that the most common mistake made by nurses is a failure to use a disinfectant for hand hygiene before sampling blood (16%). The mistake in communication took the third place (14%). Based on the above results the conclusion can be made that H1: During capillary blood sampling to determine the level of glycemia nurses most often make mistakes in communication with the patient, has not been confirmed. Using the knowledge earned from literature and the conducted research I have proposed a standard of nursing care for nurses called "Capillary blood sampling to determine the level of glycemia." Nurses will have an opportunity to have a manual at hand that will serve them as a quide to correctly perform capillary blood sampling to determine the level of glycemia and they will not be consider the blood sampling to be a routine procedure.

Biodosimetry for persons exposed to alpha radiation: dependence on malignity (exp. work).
KŘÍŽOVÁ, Marcela
In the thesis I focus on evaluation of the effect of familiar occurrence of cancer on presence and number of micro-nuclei in blood preparations with particular groups of persons. One of the biodosimetry methods, test for presence, number and kind of micro-nuclei, was used. I was not investigating the dosages as such and connection of the number of micro-nuclei with the dose, however, I followed up the effect of potentially influencing side factor on presence and number of micro-nuclei, which is the familiar occurrence of tumour. As a lot of information about ionizing radiation, its sources, radioactivity, radio-biologically important quantities, mechanisms of effects, molecular and cellular changes and biodosimetric methods as such falls under the topic, the theoretical part of diploma project is dedicated to such information. In the practical part, evaluation of the number and kind of micro-nuclei with set groups of persons is carried out. These groups of persons are particularly exposed to ? radiation. They are employees of spa Lázně Jáchymov, former miners from already closed uranium mines in Příbram and current miners from uranium mines GEAM o. z. Dolní Rožínka. These selected persons are divided according to their workplaces into two groups, i.e. a group of persons without cancer occurrence in the family and a group of persons with occurrence of cancer in their families. The numbers of bi-nuclei cells without micro-nuclei and with micro-nuclei and the kinds of micro-nuclei were determined with all these persons using fluorescence microscope. Expression and comparison of percentages of bi-nuclei cells with micro-nuclei to total number of all bi-nuclei followed and then expression and comparison of proportion of micro-nuclei without centromeres to the number of micro-nuclei of both kinds (with centromeres and without centromeres) with all persons and groups were carried out. Based on the results gained from statistical assessment, it was found that differences between percentages of the two main compared groups of persons did not show higher genomic instability (statistically significant difference) in persons with familiar occurrence of cancer than in persons without cancer in the family. But by comparing the shares of micronuclei without centromeres was proved statistically significant difference between these main groups.

Management of post-term pregnancy
ZEMANOVÁ, Hana
The choice of the topic of thesis has been based on my practical experience gained from working as a midwife in the delivery room. The post-term pregnancy, i.e. pregnancy after the expected date of delivery, could be encountered in the delivery room very often. Despite the fact that we live in a time of unrestricted access to information, women are not always well informed about the risks associated with the above mentioned condition. I believe that in such a case women should know and be sufficiently informed on the labour conduct process, without distinction between primiparous and multiparous women. This fact should be taken into account in the post-term pregnancy management. The theoretical part of the thesis is primarily focused on the pregnancy, its diagnosis, duration and the date of delivery calculation. Nowadays, the most accurate method for calculating the date of delivery is considered to be the calculation of the date of delivery by the foetal ultrasound, which is performed in the first trimester of pregnancy, until completed 12th week. The ultrasound can reduce the number of false post maturities. Without having a reliable screening ultrasound examination it is very difficult to perform an adequate post-term pregnancy management. Subsequently, I will deal with the post-term pregnancy of pregnant women. We can talk about the post-term pregnancy in case the woman does not give birth until the expected date of delivery, i.e. until the 40th week of pregnancy. Prolonged pregnancy means a pregnancy that has extended beyond 42 weeks, or 294 days from the first day of the last menstrual period, or 280 days from ovulation. According to the Czech Gynaecological and Obstetrical Society?s recommendations, the pregnant woman is sent no later than at the beginning of the 41st week for further prenatal monitoring to the facilities where the woman has decided to give birth. Beyond the 41st week all necessary steps should be taken to end the pregnancy. Thus, the pregnancy should be end no later than within the term 42 +0. Post-term pregnancy in duration of 7-14 days after the verified date of delivery represents the indication for labour induction. Midwife understands the holistic nature of the pregnant woman and treats her like an individual being. The aim of my thesis is to determine whether pregnant women are aware of all risks associated with the post-term pregnancy, reasons and procedures for the labour induction and whether the study group includes more primiparous or multiparous women. On the basis of the objectives various hypotheses have been established, which should have confirmed the objectives. In the practical part I have used quantitative research techniques to collect the necessary data - questionnaire. The study group is made up of a statistically significant number of women with the post-term pregnancy, hospitalized at the Gynaecological and Obstetrical clinic of the University Hospital in Plzeň. After the consultation with the statistician I was recommanded not to analyze the data obtained for the confirmation of the hypothesis statistically. The research results of my thesis have led to the preparation of a leaflet about nursing practice and labour conduct in women with the post-term pregnancy. The leaflets will be, with the approval of the Board of the Gynaecological and Obstetrical clinic of the University Hospital in Plzeň, available at CTG counselling centres and gynaecological and obstetrical outpatient departments of the Gynaecological and obstetrical clinic of the University Hospital in Plzeň.

Educational attitudes of foster parents.
FIALOVÁ, Adéla
Foster care is a form of foster care and it regulates family law (Foster care is a form of foster care and it regulates family law). Foster care controls and guarantes the State. Children suitable for foster care are children which are legally free, and therefore can not be entrusted to adoption. To foster care are usually placed older children or children with disabilities. Foster care expires at legal age of the child. If the child prepares for a future job, foster care can take up to 26 years of age. Foster care can be performed in groups or individually. In the first chapters on the topic: educational attitudes of foster parents I deal with family and the atmosphere in it. In the other chapters I describe forms of foster care - custody, guardianship, adoption or foster care and adoption, where I also mention the history of foster care and intermediation of adoption and foster care. One chapter I deal to biological parents of the children because foster children in foster care and biological family have the right to be in contact. In a few chapters I deal to education, where I write in detail about educational resources and of reward and punishment. In addition, in the chapter on education I deal with parental attitudes toward child. In half page I deal chapter titled rules, where I mention the importance of the rules and the various areas in which there are rules. One chapter I devote to conflicts and their solutions, where I write about the different ways to solve the conflict. Because they are placed in foster care the children with disabilities, at the end of the theoretical part of the thesis I deal with chapter named: the children with disabilities in foster families, and specifically down syndrome and autism. I choosed a qualitative method for the research project and I performed interviews with respondents with half structured interview. The respondents were six foster families. I recorded interviews on the recorder with the consent of the respondents and then transcribed . The only criterion to decide on the respondents was that the respondents must be currently foster parents and be in foster care for at least one foster child. In the research section I have chosen the following objectives: 1. The objective is to establish a conscious and unexplored educational attitudes of foster parents 2. The operational objective is to capture the context changes and the development of educational attitudes of foster parents. To achieve these objectives, I formulated the following research questions: 1.Which styles of education do foster parents use in the upbringing of the children? Half of the respondents agreed that in education are important rules and boundaries that should be respected. In the education of children with foster parents attempt to a democratic approach. 2. Which rewards or punishments do foster parents use? Foster parents report that violations of the rules are punished by a ban on popular activities, such as television or computers. Foster parents agreed that physical punishment don´t use, except for an occasional slap. 3. Do exist differences in education of biological children and conferred on the children in foster care? All foster families have agreed that they don´t make differences in education, biological and conferred on the children. But also the majority of foster parents think that generally foster parents make the differences between biological children and the children entrusted, for example, as clothes, and that for some it is a lot to see. Two guardians indicated that there should be a difference in approach, in the sense that not everything should be entrusted children to say straight. The conclusion of my bachelor thesis I finish discussion, where I return again to the results of the research part of the thesis. This thesis provides an authentic experience of foster parents

Význam sialovaných glykoproteinů pro klíště \kur{Ixodes ricinus}
ONDRUŠ, Jaroslav
Sialic acid is a highly abundant and a common component of vertebrate glycans, where it can be found in the terminal positions of the cell surface glycoconjugates. The amount of sialylated glycoconjugates as well as their complexity vary between both different species and different tissue types within one individual. Considering the vertebrates, these well studied structures are know to be important for cell-cell interactions, cell adhesion and immunity. In contrary, sialic acid in arthropod glycans has been identified only in a limited number of species. In obligatory blood feeding parasites such as ticks, distinguishing between sialylated glycoproteins of tick and host origin is challenging due to huge volumes of ingested blood containing heavily sialylated structures of host origin. In the tick Ixodes ricinus, the presence of minor amount of tick´s sialylated structures has been shown previously in the ovaries and salivary glands, however, their role remains completely unknown. In this thesis, we study the importance and role of both the tick-originating and the host sialylated glycoproteins for I. ricinus, the tick commonly found in Czech Republic. We show that the tick-originating sialylated glycoproteins are present in I. ricinus eggs, and that their amount changes over time after laying the eggs. Furthermore, these molecules were localized in cryosections of 14 days old eggs and in the larvae using confocal microscopy. In addition, we shed some further light on the role of sialic acid for ticks in the tick blood meal. According to our results, the glycan part of glycoproteins is the key in recognition of these molecules by tick cells.

Bohemika in the castle library collection in Český Krumlov
ČECHOVÁ, Petra
My thesis Bohemika in the castle library collection in Český Krumlov is devoted to the processing of the Czech collection of the castle library in Český Krumlov. The primary source are Czech books, which are now stored in the castle library. The Czech collection was developed by the aristocratic family of Schwarzenberg. In my thesis I deal not only with the general evaluation of this part of the collection, but also with the attitude of individual book owners towards the Czech language and literature. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter briefly describes the development of Český Krumlov Castle and the castle library, the second chapter is devoted to the general evaluation of the Czech collection in the library. The third chapter outlines the historical development of Schwarzenberg family in the concept of the castle library. There is a significant point of view of the owners of the Czech books and the access of the individual members to the Czech language and literature. The fourth chapter focuses in detail on the area of artistic literature and its presence in the castle library. The fifth chapter deals with the Czech collection of the castle library in Vrchotovy Janovice and its owners, particularly with the baroness Sidonie Nádherná from Borutín. The book collections of both the libraries are compared in the end of the thesis. The thesis also includes the catalogue of the Czech books, which I prepared and organized.
