The Man, Death and Other World in the Time of Baroque
DUDA, Zdeněk
The thesis deals the question of the last things of man, so the theme of the death, dying and imagines about the world and the other world, especially in the first and the second third of the 18th century in the South Bohemian town of Písek. The themes of the last things of man are studied on the example of two possible contemporary discourses, namely the semipopular and popular discours. The contemporary popular discours was constructed by the analysis of testaments of town people of Písek from the thirties of the 18th century, as the resources of the semipopular discours books ars moriendi and hymn-books were used. The world and the other world diffused especially in the time of the funeral; the almighty God was usually coming into the world through the death and the ritual of the funeral and manifested his fairness and grace. In the view of the popular discours the reality of baroque world was still confirmed and accepted by the funeral ceremonies again.

Thesis is focused on relationship between fertility rate and tools of state support. The goal is to reveal relationship between these two factors. Partial goal is to discover specific effects of tools of state support in specific regions of Czech republic. I have aimed on research at national level and also specific regions between years 1993-2014. In order to find these relationships I used method that compares differences in development of the fertility rate. After that, I set up regression model solved by method called fixed effects. For specific regions analysis was used OLS method. Model was able to explain more than 80 % of variability. This results can be used for predicting of citizens behavior, when some changes in family allowances occurs. Main finding is, that most motivating tools are parenting allowances and child benefits.

Specific features of nursing care provided to members of the Church of Scientology.
MATOUŠKOVÁ, Eva
The Church of Scientology was officially registered in Los Angeles in 1954. It is present in more than 150 countries of the world, and is professed by over 8 million people. The founder of the movement is the American author of science fiction and fiction, Laffayete Ron Hubbard, who conducted research in the sphere of the human spirit, summarised in his books "Dianetics". Later on, he focused his research on spiritual beings and their abilities. This gave rise to an applicable religious philosophy - Scientology. It has not been possible to register the Church of Scientology officially in the Czech Republic so far, and therefore it acts as the civil association of "Dianetické centrum" (the Dianetic Centre). The number of its members and sympathisers in this country is not very high, reaching approximately 800 persons. Still, it is important for us to know the differences of this minority, to be able to provide its members with nursing care corresponding to their specific needs. This subject is dealt with by the multi-cultural nursing care studying cultures and religions from the point of view of nursing practice. In connection with globalisation, this subject becomes even more topical. The national, cultural and ethnic structure of the population undergoes gradual changes and the number of foreigners legally residing in the territory of the Czech Republic keeps growing. For this reason, it is important even for nurses to be prepared and have at least the minimum knowledge of multi-cultural / trans-cultural nursing care that will enable them to provide adequate nursing care respecting the specifics in question. The objective of my thesis is to get to know the specific features of nursing care provided to members of the Church of Scientology and to establish the specific features of their life style. To meet the objectives, I set five research questions. Research question 1: Do members of the Church of Scientology have specific needs when they are being provided nursing care? Research question 2: What is the attitude of members of the Church of Scientology to the health care provided in the Czech Republic? Research question 3: Do members of the Church of Scientology have specific spiritual needs? Research question 4: What attitude do members of the Church of Scientology have towards their health? Research question 5: Do members of the Church of Scientology have a specific life style? To collect data for fulfilling my research objectives and obtaining answers to the research questions, I applied the method of qualitative research. To conduct the qualitative research I used the technique of a semi-structured interview with the members of the Church of Scientology attending the Dianetic Centre in Prague. The interview contained altogether 46 questions divided into four areas, and the participants were four men and four women of different ages and different lengths of being members of the Church. The qualitative examination established the main and most distinct specific feature in providing nursing care to members of the Church of Scientology, which is maintaining silence at the time when human mind is weakened. Further, the research showed that scientologists respect physicians and do not exclude them in cases of accidents or danger of life. They normally undergo preventive examinations and do not object to being vaccinated provided that they are supplied with sufficient information. The only exception is psychiatry. Being provided with assists constitutes the only spiritual need, and the Church of Scientology has no specifics in terms of diet. This thesis may be used as a study material for general nurses and students of nursing studies, to expand knowledge in the field of multi-cultural / trans-cultural nursing care, which will facilitate providing culture-specific nursing care to members of this religious minority.

Czech-Chinese partnership and marriage
ZHAO, Ting
The objective of this thesis is to describe the way Czech-Chinese partner-ships/marriages are perceived and experienced by the partners involved. The thesis has two parts. The theoretical part forms the basis for the subsequent empirical research. It clarifies the terminology, the motivation of meeting one?s partner, the importance of mixed marriages and the life of the Chinese minority in Bohemia. The practical part describes the research. Qualitative research through the method of interviewing was used. The interviews with eight questions yielded information from nine respondents - Czechs and the Chinese who are partners involved in this type of relationship. Their views and experience are analyzed by the method of clumps. The research results yielded insights into the relationship and coexistence of Czech-Chinese partnerships. The research showed that most partners in Czech-Chinese marria-ges had been learning about each other for some time before entering into the relation-ships. The research yielded thirteen kinds of motivation to get acquainted. Some of them are characteristic only for marriages between foreigners. Most respondents, however, met their partners by random coincidence. The answers of the respondents indicated twenty-one specific problems in their relationships. These problems are of social or cultural nature or ones commonly occurring between partners. Partners? par-ent? attitudes vary. The reasons for rejection are concerns about the happiness of their children or prejudices against foreigners. In public, the couples usually feel good. Only occasionally they are confronted with negative responses. The partners communicate using Czech, Chinese and English. According to the respondents, this type of coexisten-ce in most cases has not changed the usual lifestyle. The only exception is food. The other areas of co-existence are individual and standard. The opinions of the respondents on this type of marriage are not uniform. Some think that the boundaries of cultural dif-ference cannot be overcome. Others look positively that cultures complement each other. When people can take advantage of these differences, they enrich their lives. The research results expand the knowledge of ethnically mixed marriages and they can serve as a basis for further research.

Possible Applications of LNG in the Czech Republic
Machalová, Markéta ; Sedláček, Jiří (advisor) ; Kysilka, Hugo (referee)
This thesis evaluates the possibilities of application of LNG (liquefied natural gas) in the Czech Republic. LNG is a relatively new commodity, which has broad use in the world, but as of now, the Czech Republic hasn't entered its market. The main objective of this thesis is to determine whether there exists suitable use for LNG in the Czech Republic today. By analysis and calculation I came to the conclusion, that there are applications that would be economically advantageous and would, in addition, bring other significant benefits, such as reducing emissions. The most perspective is the use of LNG as an alternative truck fuel. Under certain conditions suitable applications are also LNG satellite stations, cogeneration or bus transport. The conclusion of this thesis is that liquefied natural gas has a great potential to expand to the Czech Republic.
