Gender and primary school girls
HRONKOVÁ, Martina
The thesis deals with gender issues. It is divided into two parts, theoretical ? based on literature review and practical ? based on research. The theoretical part deals with the concept of gender as a social construct. It is focused on manifestation of gender stereotypes in various aspects of girl?s and woman?s life. The first chapter defines the most important terms (gender, sex, socialization, identity) and is followed by a chapter dealing with gender stereotypes related to female and male social constructs (of femininity and masculinity). The next part describes manifestation of gender roles, (differences and behaviour) in family. The following chapter shows the picture of woman which is presented in the media (magazines for women, advertisement, publications for children). The last chapter describes manifestation of gender roles in school environment. The practical part presents results of the quantitative and qualitative research. The quantitative research is based on questionnaire investigation. The qualitative research was conducted through controlled interviews. Both types of research were focused on gender problems ? whether the girls participating in the research realize the effects of gender roles and how they perceive them. The result of this research is that girls are aware of pressure based on gender differences. They realize the conflict between their wishes and reality, but they fully respect the traditional gender division of the worl into the male and female world and they lead their lives in accordance with the traditional gender stereotypes.

Value drivers of startup projects relevant for venture capital investors in the Czech Republic and valuation methods
Habrnal, Marek ; Špička, Jindřich (advisor) ; Starý, Oldřich (referee) ; Špaček, Miroslav (referee)
The main objective was to create a normative model of determining the value of early stage for companies in the seed and start up stage. The model should be applicable to entrepreneurs and investors, taking into account the assessment of the value of qualitative factors. Another aim was to identify the significant factors affecting the value of early stage companies in the seed and start up stage, i.e. at a time when there are no or very little revenues. Based on a research among investors and other experts on the valuation of early stage companies and venture capital, the most significant factors were not only identified, but also determined by their weight. The quality of evaluating investment opportunities has a major impact on the profitability of the investor´s capital. Current knowledge of the key value drivers and the mechanisms of valuation can help businesses to set realistic expectations when trying to raise capital to finance the startup of the project. It is therefore necessary to provide a clear methodological framework applicable to both parties of investing. The actual research was divided into two phases - individual interviews with investors and questionnaires. It was confirmed that the most crucial factors are those associated with quality management and company founders.

The world without men? Gender stereotype and magazine Elle
ŠANDEROVÁ, Eva
This work deals with gender stereotypes in the Czech version of Elle magazine. The impulse for the analysis of the practical part of the essay became Novels and Children by Roland Barthes, where the author said that although the Elle magazine presents to readers it?s ?world without men, but thoroughly created male gaze?. The main aim of this work is to describe gender stereotypes (or their absence) in Elle magazine pages. The operational aim is to bring the uninitiated viewer to gender issues, clarify the basic concepts. In the theoretical part firstly the key concepts related to gender are presented and then the analyses of the selected authors who are dedicated to the reproduction of gender stereotypes in the media are represented. The practical part is dedicated to the research of gender stereotypes in Elle magazine so that already described analyses of the authors are applied to the selected photographs.

The czech contemporary dance in the nineteen nineties
Opavská, Andrea ; GREMLICOVÁ, Dorota (advisor) ; STAVĚLOVÁ, Daniela (referee)
The main goal of this thesis is to clarify the situation of the Czech contemporary dance platform in the nineteen-nineties and its transformation, on the basis of four case studies of concrete personalities and their dance works: Eva Černá a Karel Vaněk (Little blue nothing), Lenka Flory (..and where is Mary?), Jan Kodet (Jade) and Petr Tyc (The Fall of The House of Usher). The emphasis is put on catching the different qualities of movement, searching for the origins of their source of inspiration. In order to understand the deeper context of this period it was necessary to briefly describe the development of "scénický" ("scenic") dance before 1989. This matter is put into the larger context of the change in aesthetics of the corporeality since the nineteen-sixties and the formation of the concept of contemporary dance with delimitation of its content.

May Little Children be Baptised?
Lamser, Jan ; Macek, Petr (referee) ; Štefan, Jan (advisor)
The Purpose of this writing is to address the issue of paedobaptism from the perspective of dogmatics. It contains an historical and confessional overview. It articulates the open issues and demonstarates, that so far no fundamentally balanced dogmatic reflection has been developed. Consequently, individual dogmatic views and positions have largely suffered from offering just partial perspectives. It seems critical to avoid such drawback while setting sound methodological background for such type of research. In the following sections an absence of a robust general methodology in the area of sacramentology is observed, an attempt to articulate key attributes of such metodology is presented, taking into account approaches taken so far. Such approaches are structurally analysed through metanarrative, research discipline, discours, argumentative logic. Finally, a practicable approach to deal with abundant available relevant theological material is proposed. Such an approach, if applied, might offer more holistic perspective on paedobaptism. Summary of the taxonomy of the genus Helix.
Korábek, Ondřej ; Juřičková, Lucie (advisor) ; Král, David (referee)
Despite the genus Helix Linnaeus, 1758 (Gastropoda, Pulmonata) comprises large and common land snail species, it is rather neglected by taxonomists. A vast number of species and subspecies level taxa were described along 19th century, most of them currently not considered as valid. Nevertheless, there remain doubts about species delimitation. It is obvious, that there is great morphological variability in some species, but little is known about its taxonomic value. Today, about forty valid species are recognized. The diversity center of this genus is situated in northeastern Mediterranean. The distribution data of particular taxa are fragmentary and ecology of some species is largely unknown. No collections are still available from extensive areas, thus completion of field collecting can lead to changes in status of some taxa or perhaps even to description of new species. This work is based on the review of available literature and partly also on the study of collection materials. It provides a list of available names in the genus Helix in its present sense. The problems of traits used for species identification as well as weak points of current knowledge of diversity of the genus Helix are briefly discussed.

Impact of taxes and social benefits on income inequality and relative poverty in the Czech Republic
Janský, Petr ; Kalíšková, Klára ; Münich, Daniel
International comparisons have long shown that income inequality and the proportion of people at risk of relative poverty in the Czech Republic are among the lowest both in the EU and across the world's most developed countries (OECD). Data from representative surveys on household incomes and expenditures show that the Czech tax and social benefits system has rather little effect on income equality and the risk of poverty. Relatively low variation in gross income, for which the old-age pension system plays a key role, plays a greater part in maintaining the low rates of both measures. If besides direct taxes and social benefits we also take into account the effects of indirect taxation (value added tax and consumer taxes), then we find that the current system reduces income inequality relatively little, and in fact slightly increases the relative poverty risk. 80 % of those in relative poverty and 33 % of other individuals are in receipt of at least one social benefit. Only 38 % of total expenditures on state social support are spent on people who are at risk of relative income poverty. The most potentially effective benefits for reducing relative income inequality and overall poverty rates are benefits in material need (contributions towards basic living costs and accommodation). The most effective instrument for reducing the proportion of the population at risk of relative income poverty is child benefit.

Introducing the concept of basal stimulation in the surgical department
FRÜHAUFOVÁ, Hana
The concept of basal stimulation is currently one of the most popular concepts in nursing care. Basal stimulation is intended for people with changes in perception and communication. The aim of this thesis was to map the use of basal stimulation in the surgical department of the district hospital of South Bohemia. Furthermore, I investigated the possibilities of using this concept for restless patients hospitalized in a standard surgical ward. The last goal was to determine whether basal stimulation effects medical treatment. The topic of the thesis was researched using expert sources. The research part uses methods of qualitative research. The research was conducted in four phases. The research showed that respondents have little knowledge of the concept of basal stimulation, but showed interest in it during the implementation its elements. The surgical ward, where the research has been conducted, currently does not use any elements of basal stimulation, nor is it being used in the hospital itself. During the research in the surgical ward, only two elements of the basal stimulation were implemented, the application of which is summarized in the tables showing the results of stimulation in the individual case reports. Patients showed both verbally and nonverbally increased levels of well-being, peacefulness, relief and comfort during stimulation. Nurses who participated in the research and monitored the patients also held this view. The third focus of the research did not provide unambiguous data. I focused only on the treatment of pain, the area in which the data obtained proved to be insufficient. It would be appropriate to expand the scope of the study in this respect, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.

Analysis of Shares of Stock Exchange in Chosen Sectors in Securities Exchange
SIEBENBRUNER, Vít
The aim of my work was analysis of the risk and the rate of return on investments in chosen sectors of capital market. The next aim was determination of basic factors, which affect the risk and the rate of return on investments. Analysis was made on New York Stock Exchange in time period of 60 months. My work was divided into three main parts. The first part dealt with analysis of risk and rate of return on investment. The second part dealt with analysis of basic factors, which affect them, and in the last part I investigated effectiveness of markets in view. In the first part was found, that the most suitable sector for investment is flow of oil. This sector has relatively little risk with high rate of return on investments. In the opposite side is pharmaceutical industry with the highest variation coefficient. In the second part of my work was found, that the main influence on risk of investment has company indebtedness. It means that high of foreign capital is very important for company and every investor should be interest in this economic indicator. At the end was made a correlation analysis. It was found, that the market meets the effectiveness in a week form.
