Need for self-actualization in patients during hospitalization
VACHTOVÁ, Ivana
Human personality is a dynamic and organized set of characteristics which are in a special relation. Personatity is thought to be determined largely by either genetics and heredity, or by environment and experience, or both. The personal needs are dependent on sex, age, education and differ in different generations. The personality is developed through interaction of life situation, life conditions and the place. Self-fulfillment means to fulfill one´s potencial. It refers to ability to realize one´s own needs and plans. According to Maslow the need of self-actualization belongs to growth needs. Self-realization evokes feelings of happiness and joy. It surpasses everyday routine, it is a spiritual need. The first objective of my thesis was to examine the need of self-realization in hospitalized patients. The second objective was to compare the needs of patients hospitalized in intensive care units to those of patients admitted to planned medical interventions and to those of patients in long-term care facilities. The third objective was to find out nurses´ attitude to hospitalized patients with needs of self-realization. To find relevant data patients hospitalized in intensive care units, patients in long-term care facilities and patients with planned medical interventions were addressed. Nurses taking care of those patients were also asked to take part in the research . Data were collected by the questionnaire method. The hypothesis I suggests that patients treated in intensive care units prefer the treatment which leads to feelings of security and alleviates pain. This hypothesis was confirmed. The hypothesis II suggests that patients admitted to planned medical intervention have more intensive needs of self-realization than patients treated in intensive care units. This hypothesis was not confirmed {--} patients expecting interventions feel the same need of security and pain management as patients hospitalized in intensive care units. The hypotesis III that patients admitted to planned interventions have more intensive needs of self-realization than patients staying in long-term care facilities was not confirmed. According to the data collected, patients in long-term care facilities need pain management and feelings of security, but they also need to be respected as personalities. They prefer to have the strength to fight the disease to the need of having the bed properly made. The hypothesis IV that nurses do not show enough interest in hospitalized patients´needs of self-realization was not confirmed. Nurses are informed enough about patients´ needs. They usually try hard to find the time to talk to patients. The results should make nurses be more aware of the need of lifelong learning despite their enormous workload and care for their own mental and physical health by following principles of mental hygiene. Key words: needs self- fulfillment patient environment relations communication

Working environment
Fialová, Michaela ; Reichel, Jiří (referee) ; Kocianová, Renata (advisor)
A person's working environment is one of the places that he/she spends a large part of his/her time, and that is the reason why it is necessary to dedicate sufficient attention and care to it. This care involves optimizing working conditions- which influence the activity and productivity of employees- and creating a pleasant atmosphere in workplace. If this care for working environment is taken as a whole, it reaches beyond social-psychological conditions to the actual conditions of the working station, which are called the physical factors. These factors are present in every type of workplace (whether in digger or smaller quantity) and they can markedly influence the mood of employees, the overall atmosphere of the workplace and finally also the achievement of individual employees. The physical conditions of work are composed of: noise, lighting, choice of colors, the conditions of microclimate, design of workplace, and last but not least ergonomically suitable tools and working equipment the worker uses. Almost all mentioned items have recommended limits and specification and quiet frequently they are regulated by sanitary codes and legislature.

Alcohol as a common phenomenon now
HANZALOVÁ, Zuzana
There are many reasons why people tend to consume alcohol. One of them is the influence of society. People practically get acquainted with alcohol in early childhood during different family celebrations where drinking alcohol is very tolerated. Certain amount can be accepted. Another reason, why people tend to drink alcohol, could be very individual. People are not able to deal with their problems and stresses, which are brought with their workload and this rushed age. But in both cases it could lead to the situation where the first shots do not work any more. Their amount must be increased ? but that also means higher load for body. Higher consumation of alcohol also brings the risk of exceeding of certain border. Person starts to drink excessively, no regard to his (her) health, age or suitable timing. The theoretical part of my thesis is aimed to the reasons of alcoholism formation and single stages of addiction. It also describes secondary illnesses to alcoholism, prevention and treatment of that. It deals with the groups of people which are the most endangered by addiction. The work contains the comparation of domestic and world statistics. The basis of the practical part is the research of different age groups of inhabitants which is aimed to alcohol attitude, degree of tolerance, finding of drinking frequency and amount of drink alcohol, differences between men and women. In cooperation with mental institution in Jihlava I have watched and treated the life destinies of concrete persons. There are also statistics of mental institution and statistics of accidents caused by driving under alcohol influence processed.

The workload of nurses in perioperative care
POLÁKOVÁ, Ivana
The basic theoretical background: It is known that the profession of nurses is very physically and mentally challenging. Otherwise, it is not even for nurses in the operating room. The work of nurses in operating rooms is highly specialized and demanding profession that requires specific skills and knowledge primarily because the operating rooms is very specific and puts high demands on the technical and material equipment, flawless organization work and to perfect the principles of antisepsis and asepsis. It's about challenging, diverse activities, including the preparation of operating material, devices, apparatus, instruments and sterilization. The correct execution of all these activities, the profession ranks between occupation with time pressure, physical stress and irregular rhythm of life and professions, in which psychological and physical depletion of reserves means not only a danger to themselves, but also the health of the patient. The objectives of the work: To meet the main intent of the work were established two objectives. The first goal is to find out what type of workload for nurses in perioperative care predominates. The second goal is to compare the differences of the workload for novice and long - term working nurses in perioperative care. Hypothesis: Depending on the set objectives have been identified four hypotheses. H1: the incidence of psychological burden for nurses in perioperative care predominates over the occurrence of physical exertion. H2: for nurses working less than three years in perioperative care is the presence of psychic load higher than for senior sisters. H3: for nurses working for more than three years in perioperative care is the presence of physical load higher than the sisters with less length of practice. H4: the workload of nurses in perioperative care does not differ from the standard, based on the Meister´s method of assessing workload. Methodology: Research method of quantitative inquiry of research using the techniques of a standardised questionnaire, supplemented by their own questions. The questionnaire was completely anonymous and respondents ' participation in the research was voluntary. Were used two standardized questionnaires. The first questionnaire was elected from Maister, which assesses the impact of work on the psyche of the individual. The second questionnaire was used as a working activity from Baecky, which is used to measure physical activity. The target group were the nurses working in the perioperative care. In total, were interviewed across nine hospitals of the Czech Republic. All selected Hospital have agreed to perform the research investigation to this thesis. The results obtained were statistically processed. Conclusion: The work provides information about what type of workload predominate for nurses in perioperative care and about the differences of the workload for starting and working nurses in perioperative care. The results of the thesis can be used by medical facilities to identify the workload for nurses in perioperative care and by the perioperative nurses. From the above results, it is clear that the issue of mental and physical loads primarily nurses in the operating room is a very current topic, and it is important to deal with manifestations of this load. In addition to this thesis was created, information material on the prevention of the workload and the methods of its elimination.

Srovnání ergonomických charakteristik stacionárních a otočných kabin vyvážecích traktorů
Kotyza, Pavel
The aim of the study is to compare the ergonomic characteristics of swiveling forwarder cab with standard fixed cab. There are compared data measured during the operator's workshift inside both types of cabs. Part of the operator's shift proceeded after dark, while the effect of different workload and two different types of reflectors was evaluated. Additional reference measurements were carried out during the work with the simulator of harvester technology. The measured data representing the progress of physiological functions of the operator, responsive to the degree of the workload. A prerequisite is a system and an integrative approach and orientation about how interdisciplinary processing, in particular with regard to link topics, such as health and safety at work, stress and strain. The contents of the theoretical part of the work gives an overview of the background and the most important knowledge on the basis of study and analysis of available relevant literature of our and foreign provenance, formulates hypotheses basic research assumptions and the method of authentication. Data obtained using the measuring apparatus Biofeedback 2000 x-pert are evaluated in the practical part. The intention of the discussion is to compare the results with data in the literature, indicate the open questions and options of the application. The conclusions are incorporated into a broader context and compared with available literature.

The evaluation of space conditions and work place in computer classes of selected primary schools in district Písek.
KLUIBEROVÁ, Michaela
This thesis deals with space conditions and working place in a computer lab. It also de-scribes the rules of correct seating of students and their feeling of comfort related to the stay in a computer lab. Theoretical part contents information about ergonomic requirements on the arrangement of working place at the computer. The information concerns table, chair, monitor, key-board and mouse. The requirements on space conditions of a computer lab are intro-duced as well as other factors. For example floor area, height of a room, position of working place and factors such as lighting, windows, noise, microclimatic conditions and ventilation. Working with computer effects our health, for example musculoskeletal problems, visual difficulties and psychical troubles are mentioned. Also the musculoskeletal system, sitting position, posture and examples of compen-sation exercise (concerning static load) are described in this thesis. The final section of the theoretical part is focused on the school stress, its conse-quences and also the school which supports health. The aim of the thesis is to map space conditions and working place in a computer lab in Písek district and to find out students opinions on feeling of comfort while staying in a computer lab and respecting the rules of correct seating. The second part of thesis gathers the results of my research. It concerned students from 6th till 9th classat chosen primary schools in Písek district by the method of ob-serving and the results were compared with the established criteria. Also the anonymous questionnaires were used. The space conditions of computer labs, working places of students and respecting the rules of correct seating were evaluated by observing. The questionnaires were focused on the recognition of students feeling of comfort while staying in a computer lab. Established facts were statistically tested by using chi-square test. The final results of the research show that working places in computer labs at pri-mary schools are suitable for ergonomic requirements. While observing of respecting the rules of correct seating, it was acknowledged, that these rules are not followed, despite the students have adequate conditions for their work. Although in the observed computer labs there were some deficiencies concerning space conditions and other factors, the students feel comfortable while staying in a computer lab. Because static load influences the musculoskeletal system of the students itis neces-sary to apply the factors of precaution at schools, especially as for the rules of correct seating. The students should be familiar with these rules and following the rules should be regularly and consistently controlled by teachers. The deficiencies in computer labs and on the working places are necessary to re-move to create adequate surrounding and conditions for the work of students. Appropri-ately arranged working place is basic requirement for the precaution of musculoskeletal problems and it also enables easier way of how to follow the rules of correct seating. Long-lasting sitting and unsuitable working conditions influence negatively the health of the students and that is significant also for the future. Health problems can be present till adulthood. The students should be aware of the risks and they should be taught to arrange their working place properly before they start working there.

Occupational safety and health
Justová, Gabriela ; Kopecký, Martin (referee) ; Kocianová, Renata (advisor)
Occupational safety and health represents a set of measures aimed at reducing, or totally eliminating, the risks endangering lives and health of workers. It is influenced by a character of work and also by working conditions. Lately, emphasis in this field is not only on accident prevention, but also on creating satisfying working conditions. Good working conditions contribute to keeping high productivity and pleasant atmosphere at work, to an increase of quality of life and to social and legal protection of employees. In my thesis I pursue not only work safety and health protection as one sphere of care for workers, its historical development in the Czech Republic and primary legal provisions, but also working conditions and work environment. In connection with these factors I use, as an example, work schedule of flight crews, and a level of cosmic radiation to which the flight attendants are exposed. In a separate chapter I describe contribution of ergonomics to work safety and health protection at work, specifically, and to improvement of human activities generally. In this chapter I describe ergonomic problems connected exclusively with occupation of flight attendant. In another chapter I define concept of "work accident" and duties of an employer when an accident at work happens. To prevent work...
