Annotation Václav Kopecký - minister of ideology (Ministery of Information in years 1945 - 1953) Institute of History, Faculty of Philosophy, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, České Budějovice 2010. 86 pages, 7 pages of picture supplements. The presented thesis describes political and personal life of an important communist statesman, Minister of Information and Enlightenment Václav Kopecký. The work is mostly intented on his acting in the office at the ministry from 1945 to 1953. The thesis consists of four main chapters. After the introduction there follows the first chapter, devided into three parts, which introduces life of Václav Kopecký. The second chapter, devided into two parts, is focused on his ministry office, the first part on years 1945 - 1948 and the second one on years 1948 - 1953. The third chapter analyses Kopecký´s works written between years 1945 and 1948. The last, fourth chapter focuses on analyses of his works in years 1948 - 1953. After this chapter there folows the conclusion with a summary of the work. The last part of the thesis contains list of used sources and literature and supplements.

"PORTA COELI" CONVENT IN PŘEDKLÁŠTEŘÍ U TIŠNOVA AND WEST PORTAL OF ITS CONVENT CHURCH The Tišnov convent Porta coeli ("gateway to heaven") was probably founded in 1232 by the Czech Queen Konstancie, daughter of the Hungarian King Béla III and widow of the Czech King Przemysl Otakar I, who was greatly supported by her sons - the Czech King Wenceslas I and Moravian Margrave Przemysl. Of the church notables it was particularly Robert, bishop of Olomouc, who rendered his support during the construction of the convent. The building progressed quickly, sponsored by the prominent figures of the Przemyslid state. Earliest core of the convent was constituted by the convent church and convent buildings, cloister and chapter house, enclosing wall with a moat and defensive towers, a residential building by the entrance gate and St Kateřina's Chapel in the northwestern part of the courtyard (torn down just before the convent was closed by the Emperor Joseph II in 1782), which was finished at very earliest stage. Most important buildings of the medieval convent were built in the years 1232 - 1240. The early Gothic complex of buildings which survives basically intact today, ranks among the most valuable architectural works built in the Czech state in the second quarter of the 13th century. Czech translations of the First Old Slavonic legend of St. Wenceslas

The diploma thesis deals with the issues of translation in modern Czech of the First Old Slavonic Legend of St. Wenceslas. The first chapter summarizes basic information on this unique literary work and on individual editions preserved until today. The second chapter describes all translations of the Legend into Czech and outlines the main problems applicable to each of them. The third chapter compares individual translation versions with respect to their main stylistic features and general translation methodologies applied. The concluding fourth chapter analyses the translation of selected passages of the text with unclear passages translated differently as their uniform interpretation is still missing.

Negotiations and processes of dividing of the Czechoslovak Federation

Themes of this thesis are negotiations and processes leading to the division of Czechoslovak federation. At the beginning this work describes common history of Czechoslovakia till the year 1989. This part of the thesis is primarily focused on problems and common issues of both nations present in Czechoslovakia. There is also brief analysis of national policy towards other nations. Second part of the beginning is dealing with the political history of Czechoslovakia between November 1989 and June 1992. This part describes in detail the biggest difficulties both nations had to solve. Special attention is paid to the "dash-war", dispute about competence between republics and federation, negotiations about state agreement and constitutions. From the opening analysis results, that till the election in June 1992 was achieving a compromise between both nations difficult but still possible. Next part of this thesis describes its main theme, the negotiations between political elites of ODS and HZDS, rule parties elected in the year 1992. Tradition in interpretation of Czech organ repertoire of the 2nd half of the 20th century

The thesis provides a list of the most important organ compositions written in second half of the 20th century by several Czech composers. The second chapter analyses Kabeláč?s 4 Preludes for Organ and Mácha?s set 3 Toccatas for Organ. The notes about registration are attached as well as other instructions about the sheets interpretation based on the experience and whitness of the performer, who personally attended premieres of these compositions. The third chapter captures Associate professor Václav Rabas?s authentic observations.

Presidents of the Czech Republic - Medial Representations of Václav Havel and Václav Klaus

Jaroslav Šimáček - Diploma Thesis Abstract The diploma thesis "Presidents of the Czech Republic - Medial representations of Václav Havel and Václav Klaus" analyses media images of presidents of Czech Republic Václav Havel and Václav Klaus in magazine Týden. After delimination president's role in czech political system and introducing to concrete heads of the state in the biographical part, author deals with media's role and function in contemporary world. At the same time he brings out medial communication manners and generation media images. Consequently he examines new technological possibilities in medial world plus procedure at media content analysis, which is chosen as main method. In methodology part author links hypotheses, concerning with media images of czech presidents, also describes concrete working methods and characterizes choice of medium. Select experimental period is the second presidential term of both presidents. In practical part author tries to prove or disprove given hypotheses. The research proceeds first of all in the internet archive of magazine Týden, that contains data since 1994 and is relatively well - aranged. President´s Amnesty of the Czech Republic and its consequences

This bachelor thesis is called Amnesty of president of the Czech Republic and its consequences. It analyses in detail the institute of amnesty and so mass pardons. It is purely the theoretical thesis. The work is divided into two parts. The first one is focused on amnesty from the general viewpoint. In this part we speak about basic characterization, history, the difference between amnesty and individual mercy, particular application forms, medial perspective, legislation in our country and also comparison with legislation from abroad. The second one deals with the full-of-contradiction amnesty by Václav Klaus in 2013. There is practical demonstration of using the amnesty by president of the Czech Republic in our legal environment. In this part the amnesty in 2013 is described from several points of view. The extent of amnesty which was criticised by general public is analysed including of particular clauses and thorny questions. We also focused on application problems which are described in detail with respect to particular application amnesty forms. The thesis is also speaking about the impacts on Prison service of the Czech Republic, Employment offices of the Czech Republic or Probation and Mediation service of the Czech Republic. There is said in outline the reaction of several social segments (convicted persons, aggrieved persons, the expert public and non-professional public). With the topic of people who were pardoned is closely related their social rehabilitation. It is followed by dealing with countersignature of Prime Minister Petr Nečas. A few questions about the function of countersignature in our legislation arose with him. The conclusion of thesis is aimed at future changes of amnesty institute from the constitutional viewpoint in relation to problems which appeared with the latest declared amnesty in our state territory.

The underground culture through prism of contact between political power and ideology

The contribution concerns non-official journalistic discussions on character of non-official Czech literature during the communistic perior. The text references important controversy over conception and acceptance of underground culture in Czech countries (critic Václav Černý rejects it, theoretist Ivan Martin Jirous defends it), and than goes into the two phazes of theoretical reflection so-called second culture, what was implicated from this polemic and what is represented mainly Petr Fidelius´s, Rio Preisner´s, Jiří Gruša´s and Václav Havel´s opinions. In the end contribution demonstrates these theoretical texts also shows certain ideological taint which is done of conventional image about contact between rationalization and political power, how Michel Foucault describes in study The Subject and Power.

Work of the selected Theorists of the beginnings of the music Theory in czech Language

The second part is deals with the peculiar music theorist and philosopher Karel Slavoj Amerling.
