Critical evaluation of Šik s reform

The thesis deals with the so called Šik s reform, which was a reform, that tried to implement certain elements of market economy in the centrally planned economy of Czechoslovakia in the sixties of the twentieth century. Firstly the thesis describes the course of the reform, when the importance of the central plan was significantly reduced, the position of enterprises was strengthened and the price system was rebuild. Lately the thesis examines and compares opinions on reform and new economic system of foreign and domestic experts. The goal of the thesis is to discover mistakes and imperfections of implementing of new systém, which could endanger its functioning.

The Effects of the New Deal on the social status of Afro-Americans in selected sectors of the US economy

This bachelor thesis deals with the effects of the New Deal legislation on Afro-Americans in the 1930s. Specifically, the thesis analytically focuses on the influence of various politician of this program on their social environment within the US economy. For the ease of understanding of whole issue is needed to know the situation of Afro-Americans in the previous decade as well as in the Great Depression. That is the content of the first two chapters. Subsequently there is the outline of the situation leading to the election of F. D. Roosevelt, US President. The last and as well the most important chapter of the whole thesis is devoted to analysis of individual programs and their impact on Afro-Americans. It concludes that the New Deal had both positive and negative influence on this minority, depending on the economic sector and the relevant administration. New Deal generally meant a huge progress in their economic and political affairs.

The knights of the cross with the red heart (Cyriaci) and their convent in the Old Town of Prague between 1628-1729

An extensive historical knowledge of the Cyriac church order is enabled due to a set of mostly Latin archival manuscript books (deposited mainly in the National Library in Prague), accomplished betw. 1740-1770 by the conventual historian, a luminary Joannes C. Rohn whose work methods and sources have been a subject of investigation. The further aim of this paper is to define the order`s involvement in the social and liturgical life in terms of Post-White- Mountain catholic superiority. Prague`s order possessions were restored from Cracovian centre after a long cessation in 1628, and later (till 1783) remained a single Cyriaci convent in Bohemia. These regular canons focused their public activity predominantly on a local spiritual service, carried out up from 1640 also in the adjacent Holy Spirit`s district, and later in a stretch of suburban village area. As well, variably, assisted in a parochial administration throughout the country. Within a few decades the clerics gained confidence of the local, hitherto confessionwise prevalently utraquist parishioners, and a close cooperation was established. While in materially harsh beginnings neighbours` loyalty had to be urged, later, by the vastly instigated public devotion, plentiful private ecclesiastic donations and pro anima mass foundations became a common...

The Macroeconomic Impacts of the Selected Oil Shocks in the United States of America

The aim of this study is to analyze macroeconomic impacts of four selected oil shocks on the United States economy and their subsequent comparison. The first part of this study deals with the theoretical background of supply shock, its influence on the economy, and the possible responses of economic policy. Furthermore, in the first part I focus on the historical events that led to the oil crisis, specifically on the OPEC oil embargo imposed on the United States, production cuts caused by the Iranian revolution, Iran-Iraq War and Persian Gulf War and on the demand as well as the supply factors that led to the oil shock of 2007-2008. The second part of this study presents the specific impacts of four selected oil shocks on the US economy and their comparison. Based on the findings, it was possible to confirm the hypothesis saying that past oil shocks, especially those that took place in the 1970's, had more negative impacts on the United States economy in comparison with those that happened more recently. In other words, that the effects of changes in oil prices have lessened over time. There are many reasons of this moderation, but the most important ones include more effective monetary policy response, the decrease in wage rigidities, and more recently also the decline of United States dependency on imported oil.

Comparison of Selected Impacts of New Frontier and Great Society Programs in 1960s

This thesis deals with New Frontier and Great Society programs and their impact on social policy of the United States in the 1960s. The main goal of the thesis is to compare impact of both programs on selected indicators of standard of living with primary focus on the poverty rate. Thesis describes antipoverty measures of both programs and analyzes their impact on the standard of living. Hypothesis stating that the Great Society was more successful than New Frontier at reducing the poverty rate could not be proven true because of the immense influence of strong economic growth in the 1960s. Thesis suggests that the biggest success of both programs was the positive impact of the Great Society on education.

Economy of Chile in 1960s and 1970s with Accent on Market Reforms after 1973

This bachelor thesis puts the stress on the analysis of economic reforms approved in Chile in the 60's and 70's years of the 20th century. The focus of this work is profoundly dedicated to the analysis of two important macroeconomic indicators: developments of inflation and trade exports, bearing in mind the context of the coup in 1973 which is seen as a direct consequence of the communist rule of the Salvador Allende's Cabinet (1970-1973). The Allende's Cabinet strove to transform the Chilean economic society into a socialist one. The bachelor thesis has validated a hypothesis stating that the pro-market reforms approved after 1973 led to diversification of the Chilean export as well as a gradual and progressive stabilization of the country's inflation that had reached as 350 % during the socialist Allende's government. This work brings a comparison of two very different economic doctrines that formed Chile in the 70's of the last century. There is being compared a socialist government approach, having focused on nationalizing of the private sector, to the liberal government's approach aimed at decreasing the public sector, privatization as well as tearing down international trade barriers.

Public support from the Czech and Community law perspectives

Resumé The state aid from cognition of Czech and Community law The definition of state aid consist primary the Treaty establishing the European Community (TEC). In article 87/1 TEC is explicit basic signs, which comprehensive: support in any form, attractive act, grant from state resources, possibility violation of contest and influence on members states. It's also referred as primary Community law. It's base on principle "common prohibition" their grant. But exist the three exceptions: compatibility on TEC, block reserve and compatibility by decision of Commission. The secondary legislation includes many regulations, directives and court rulings. Especially I illustrated: statute n. 659/1999/EC, which consists detailed form of article 93 TEC, statute for national regional aid (n. 2006/C 54/08), environment (n. 2001/C 37/03), science and research (n. 2006/C 323/01), employment (n. 2204/2002). The Czech Republic is a member of European Community and that is why must respect above mentioned legislation. The others statutes exists as supplement to community legal rules. As main base present the investment incentives act, n. 72/2000 Col. . But presently be in progress. It is the aim of the doctoral thesis to bring new current issue to Czech comparative educational science while using a non-traditional methodological approach and to provide incentives for Czech educational policy. The thesis consists of two main parts: theoretical and methodological part, and research part. In the theoretical and methodological part the aim of the research and research problem are first defined, existing knowledge concerning the topic of thesis are then briefly evaluated, and the the theoretical and methodological bases of the research are presented. The most comprehensive chapter of this part views the presented research from the perspective of the theory on educational research.
