The Value of CSR for Czech Consumers
Faradji, Elise ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Seror, Patricia (referee)
Nowadays consumers purchasing behavior is influenced by new factors such as the social and environmental implication of companies. This is why Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a growing trend which companies need to look after carefully. However implementing an efficient CSR strategy is a complex process for corporations; especially since the core concept of CSR remain quite blurry. The goal of this study is to analyze the perception of consumers towards CSR to find out about the value creation that CSR produce for consumers and its impact on their purchasing behavior. This paper will ultimately help companies to implement their CSR strategy more efficiently. This study aims to contribute by conducting an in-depth analysis of consumers attitudes and behavior towards CSR. If most of researchers are using a quantitative approach this study means to deal with the issue with a qualitative perspective. Indeed twelve semi-structured interviews will support the findings. On top of those practical and physical interviews some theoretical knowledge will be added to the construction of the argument especially to bring a framework that shows the importance of all types of value creation (functional emotional and social). The findings of the thesis emphasize the facts already proven by other researchers; value creation is fundamental to make consumers care about CSR. However the study will show how much skepticism towards CSR can impact negatively consumers purchasing behavior. The research will help companies implementing more successful CSR strategy and develop new solutions to reach customers and influence their purchasing behavior through the creation of value for them.

Alcoholism in Czechoslovakia: social reflection on this feature in the 20th century
Trousil, Pavel ; Pullmann, Michal (referee) ; Rákosník, Jakub (advisor)
The thesis entitled " Alcoholism in Czechoslovakia - Social Reflection on this feature in the 20th Century" deals with the topic of alcohol consumption in the cultural environment of Czechoslovakia which the author tries to describe in historical perspective on a general level with a special emphasis on description and comparison of public opinion, important social norms (also those implicated by legislation) as well as social structures. The temporal horizon concerned is related approximately with the period of existence of Czechoslovakia. Moreover, the author takes into consideration also the present situation which is characterised by considerable alcohol consumption and a not very restrictive system concerning the distribution of alcoholic beverages in the Czech Republic. Due to the fact that this topic is not a typical one in the field of historiography, the author first tries to define basic notions related to the "alcohol question", points out to the importance of alcohol as a specific fact of the European civilisation and, at the same time, tries to emphasise some fundamental moments which had a significant influence onto the relation of the society towards this substance as well as onto its thinking about it (such as the discovery of distillation and, in the second case, the process of...

Fish passes and their role in landscape and ecosystem management
Míka, Martin ; Horký, Pavel (advisor) ; Kuříková, Pavlína (referee)
Fishways are devices intended to restore fish migration through the transverse obstacles in fragmented flows. Basic types of fish passages can be divided into technical and close to nature. Technical as cellular or crevice between the close to nature can include, for example, a bypass channel or boulder ramps. Close to nature fishways are suitable not only for Migration wider range of species and the size of fish, but they are preferable as landscape elements in urban landscapes. Can be recommended to be close to nature when crossing streams fragmented preferred, although not necessarily their use, for example, due to space constraints at a particular location possible.

Význam ohrožených druhů rostlin lesních biotopů ŠLP Křtiny pro místní komunity

My thesis deals with some endangered species in the Training Forest Enterprise Křtiny and Moravian Karst, design certification of local forest nurseries logo regional product for sale, and also the importance for the local community. The work is focused on identifying endangered species of Training Forest Enterprise Křtiny, which are grown by the locals on their land in selected communities. Study deals with legislative restrictions in the management of endangered plant species. It explains the concept of the term "non-wood forest products", and its relevance to the forestry and biodiversity. In the work described conducted a field survey in which was collected seeds of selected endangered in the Moravian Karst for school forest enterprise Křtiny. Seeds were sown in a cold frame of Botanical garden and arboretum of Mendel University in Brno and made them germination tests. The last section describes the idea of certifing some forest nursery in the area of the Moravian Karst, giving the logo "MORAVSKÝ KRAS regional product." This tree nursery could selected endangered species grown and sold in order to increase the number of these plants in nature and the preservation of biodiversity.

Significance of MLL gene aberrations in patients with acute myeloid leukemia
Šárová, Iveta ; Březinová, Jana (advisor) ; Král, Jiří (referee)
4 ABSTRACT Significance of MLL gene aberrations in patients with acute myeloid leukemia In acute myeloid leukemia (AML), predominantly in AML M5a, the most frequent recurrent aberration of chromosome 11 involves region 11q23. Molecular breakpoint studies of several translocations involving chromosomal band 11q23 led to the detection of a gene that was named MLL (myeloid/lymphoid leukemia). Since that time, more than 70 different translocation partners of the MLL gene have been described. This gene is important for the proper HOX gene expression during ontogenesis and hematopoiesis. Chromosomal aberrations affecting the MLL gene occur in 5 - 10 % of AML cases and are very variable. Aberrations of the MLL gene are associated with an aggresive type of the disease and its detection is needed for the treatment decision. Therefore, we investigated the occurrence of MLL abnormalities in bone marrow cells of the 66 newly diagnosed AML patients, using conventional cytogenetic and fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analyses with a commercially available MLL Break Apart Rearrangement probe (Abbott VYSIS). Out of the 66 patients, we proved MLL abnormalities in 9 (13,6%): 5 (7,6%) showed translocation of MLL gene, in 3 (4,5%) we detected MLL gene amplification without any evidence of rearrangement and in 1 (1,5%)...

Compensatory market mechanisms in the sphere of conservation of species diversity and their potential use in the Czech Republic
Martíšková, Kateřina ; Louda, Jiří (advisor) ; Macháč, Jan (referee)
Benefits that mankind obtains in connection with existence of the well-functioning ecosystems and biodiversity, are called ecosystem services. Although biodiversity is not an ecosystem service in itself, however it is one of the basic prerequisites for their function. The importance of this topic for society, directly depends on the importance of ecosystem services as a source of direct or indirect benefits that impact the well-being of the human population. The aim of the application of market mechanisms on this issue is to find the optimal level of environmental protection and human development, together with optimization of the allocation environmental goods. These market mechanisms are used by many countries around the world. The thesis analyzes several cases of use of compensatory market mechanisms, with a closer focus on the Australia, the Britain and the France. Costs and benefits of the system are recognized, together with the configuration of the operation in the various states. This thesis also provides views on the territorial structure of the Czech Republic, the value of their ecosystem services and they are also presented methods of biodiversity conservation on the basis of which the possibility of establishing a market-besed systém of biodiversity conservation in the Czech Republic has been discussed. Application of market mechanisms could bring a certain dynamism to the protection of biodiversity in the Czech Republic, which is currently provided by the system of national parks and other specially protected areas, which can act as barriers to economic development. On the contrary, the market system will allow the use of the landscape in places with the highest demand through the application of the price mechanism. However, due to administrative costs of this system so far, it seems that the application of biodiversity conservation is rather unlikely in the Czech Republic.

Road Movie
Kajánková, Lucia ; Ryšavý, Martin (advisor) ; Jech, Pavel (referee)
The thesis devotes itself to the analysis of the road movie film genre, restricted to American cinema, that has been the primary ground of the genre since its establishment in the late 1960's. It presents detailed characterization of its sources and typical traits, summarizes its historical development and analyses its attributes, components and techniques, using examples from actual road movies. The thesis' focus is especially directed at the character and the generic protagonist twosome model of the road movie - the breakdown provides typology of characters and their relationships, as well as derives sub-caterories of the genre, while as resolution identifies the basic core characteristics of the protagonist(s) in their being an outsider. This key determination has its wide spectrum spread across the genre's history, as exemplified by films, that were employed for the protagonist sorting. The complex exploration of the road movie genre, with focus on the character, provided the basis a tools for a separate analysis of a specific breaking point in the development of the genre - the introducing of characters, whose genre typical outsider definition is bound is hardwired in their sexual identity. The historical moment is the start of the 1990's, when the films Thelma & Louise (1991), directed by Ridley Scott with the screenplay by Callie Khouri, Gus Van Sant's My Own Private Idaho (1991) and The Living End (1992) by Gregg Araki emerged. A case study is devoted to each of the films, focusing on their treatment of the road movie genre and the significance of the radical innovation in protagonist designation, the protagonists being women in the first film, homosexual men in the two others.

The renovation of historical parks near the small feudal residences on the example of the study of the renovation of the castle garden in Doudleby nad Orlici in Eastern Bohemia.
Faltysová, Lenka ; Buttry, Ivana (advisor) ; Jakub, Jakub (referee)
The aim of this work is the processing methodology and presentation process how to restore monuments of garden art. On the example of the revitalization of the castle garden immovable cultural monument Castle Doudleby nad Orlicí, based on the study of literature, similar interventions and the analysis and interpretation of various types of archival material the current quality of historic garden was evaluated. It is based on field survey, which consists of dendrological research, analyzing the authenticity of trees and appreciation of all the collected documents, historical sources and professional literature. Concept recovery of castle garden is based on the expert authority´s binding point of view of the state care of historical monuments. Renaissance castle in Doudleby nad Orlici is located in the eastern part of the town on a slightly raised hill on the right bank of the River Divoká Orlice. There was a wooden medieval fortress with the farmyard on this place in the 13th century. Sr Mikuláš from Bubno started to build a hunting lodge in the Renaissance style as villa in 1588, which was finished in 1590. The significance of Renaissance residence, which complement the early Baroque elements from the late 17th century, is enhanced by the opulent and impressive sgraffito - carpet pattern covering all external and internal frontage, restored in 1886 by Kirchner. The tall chimneys are the part of decoration in the courtyard decorated with sgraffito as well. The chateau complex is formed along its circuit of farm buildings and residential buildings. Building of castle itself is separated by a park with old trees and newer lawns (Hieke, 1984). Castle park in Doudleby nad Orlicí was founded in 1809 in compositional continuity of the Renaissance castle building. The park forms one organic complex with the castle. The promoter strived, like in the castle rooms, to demonstrate here his wealth, his sense of art and his botanical-dendrological knowledge. The park is designed as a narrow disposition in landscape style and it is composed as a long vista to the castle. The area of the landscape park is 3.76 hectares nowadays. The literature search is especially dedicated to the Renaissance and its relationship to the garden art. The monument care in the Czech Republic and the activity of professional organization of the monument care of the National Heritage Institute in Josefov is introduced in this section. The methodological guide describes the used bolsterings and resulting outputs on the basis of them are implemented of such measures, which will help to improve the health and vitality of existing promising trees and new plantings of trees, which are consistent with the original composition with emphasis on the rehabilitation and upgrading of historical value of the object. Treatment of trees and supplementary planting will be done within the frame of total revitalization of the castle park. The practical unit describes the current status of vegetation monuments of garden art. The inventory trees is the essential tool for analyzing the current status of vegetation monuments of garden art. Inventory, which should provide quality base for a draft recovery, should also be addressed in certain parts with characteristics of individual species (Krejčiřík, 2015). The results of field investigation were completely recorded in the graphical output.
