Determination of parenthood
Hrušáková, Alexandra ; Salač, Josef (advisor) ; Švestka, Jiří (referee)
Determination of Parenthood - Alexandra Hrušáková Abstract In my thesis "Determination of Parenthood", I focused on the largest area of family law. Everyone's life is influenced by his family the whole life. And there are many consequences connected to the relation between a child and his parents. My topic responds lively to the changes brought by current scientific and technical progress and dynamic development and metamorphoses in our society. I tried to describe it in a complex way, but in order to put accent on the most important segments of this problem. From the times of ancient Rome there exists the principle "mater semper certa est, pater incertus", which means that the identity of the mother is always certain, but the father isn't. However there exist some situations in which the principle could not be so clear. These situations created objective of this thesis. This thesis is divided into ten chapters. In every single chapter I wasn't only working with Czech law, but I also attempted to compare it to legislation of another countries The first chapter called Parenthood and Child is dealing with the theoretical definition of the components of a relation among parents and children and the rights and obligations rising from this relation. The next chapter presents The Right of the child to know his or...

Reproductive biology of brown frogs of the Czech Republic
Žáčková, Lucie ; Šandera, Martin (advisor) ; Vojar, Jiří (referee)
The frog reproduction biology is species-specific. Most of them, searches for water environment for reproduction. Our true frogs are no exception, they can be found in water right on the beginning of spring. For the rest of the year, the move on the land and only return to water when they intend to enter hibernation. They are also sometimes named as "land frogs" due to them spending most of their life in terrestrial environment. The true frogs look very similar and for their definition the combination of more determining attributes is used. The coloration of both sexes differs depending on time of the year in different species. The differences between males and females, but also between different species, are visible the most during the reproduction phase. Apart from coloration there are many other different characteristics. One of those is the calling of males in reproduction phase. Moreover, the species differ in the length of hibernation, the time of clutch laying or the manner of their placement in water. Many reproductive isolation barriers exist between true frog species inhabiting the Czech Republic which prevent the successful inter-species breeding. Key words: hibernation, calling, reproduction, amplexus, clutches, metamorphoses

„I love Justine so much that I can not be without her…“ The metamorphose of the narration from passio to hagiographic romance
Zajíčková, Vendula
There is no article in Legenda aurea or in old Czech Passional which has its pattern from Christian ancient times when acta and passions were creating. The genological prototype of acta has not been reflected in later periods. In spite of this, the prototype of passio is evident with its original topoi (“idols, or torture to death”, imitatio Christi, ancilla Dei, sponsa Christi, desire to death) and the dialogue, which was developer from original examination of Christian by Roman high official. On the hagiographic text about Saint Justine and Saint Cyprian was proved the features of magical novel (Zauberroman). The tendency to narrativity rose up during High Middle Ages, the topoi of beauty and noble birth were added. The character of devil was changed: from the pagan as the (d)evil´s instrument transformed into the personificationed devil.

Metamorphoses of the Myth of Ottokar II in the Gallery of National History
Kofránková, Václava ; Čornej, Petr (advisor) ; Galandauer, Jan (referee) ; Žemlička, Josef (referee)
The conflict between Ottokar II and Rudolph I of Habsburg is one of the driving moments of common Czech and Austrian history. As their fight was accompanied by strong propaganda on both sides, it was subject to political exploitation since the Middle Ages. The death of the King of Bohemia in the Battle of Durnkrut and the subsequent period of Brandenburg administration of the Czech Lands started, according to deep-rooted notions, the series of Czech historical disasters, completed by the Battle of Lipany and the Battle of White Mountain. For the Habsburgs, on the other hand, the victory meant the beginning of their dynastie rise, rounded off by the domination of a large part of Europe and the attainment of the title of Holy Roman Emperor. The present study focus es on this fundamental dichotomy in the understanding of the common past, mapping the changing interpretations of the conflict in historiography, literature, drama and visual art, with a speciál emphasis on the 19th century. Thus it builds upon the a u t h o ťs older studies dedicated to the same theme as treated by medieval and early modern sources.

Jan Kameník's poetic work
El-Dunia, Zita ; Červenka, Miroslav (advisor) ; Vojvodík, Josef (referee) ; Žůrek, Jiří (referee)
The topic of my thesis is the body of poetic works by Jan Kameník, which was a pen-name of Ludmila Macešková (1898-1974). Jan Kameník's poetic works consist of five collections of poetry; they are frequently classified as unusually distinctive and unique in the Czech literary context. My thesis asks two related questions: "where does Jan Kameník fit in to the Czech literary context" and "what is the relationship between mystique and poetry in Kameník's literary work". My fundamental methodological point was an examination of the "aesthetic content" as applied by Josef Vojvodík in his monograph From Aestheticism to Eschaton. Models of the World and Existence in the Lyrical Work by Otokar Březina. Symbolic Paradigm Reconstruction (2004). In the case of Jan Kameník/ Ludmila Macešková, the issue of the subject comes forward in specific contexts and in relation to the male stylisation in a female author's texts under her male pen-name. To grasp the problem issues of the subject in Jan Kameník's poetry, I applied studies by Miroslav Červenka, Marie Kubínova and Vladimír Macura presented in the bulletin, Proměny subjektu (Metamorphoses of the Subject) (1994). By giving a view of a wider cultural and literary context, evaluation of Kameník research so far and my own interpretation of Kameník's poetry collections, I...
