Dependent Data in Economic and Financial Problems
Kaňková, Vlasta
Optimization problems depending on a probability measure correspond to many economic and financial applications. The paper deals with the case when an empirical measure substitutes the theoretical one. Especially the paper deals with a convergence rate of the corresponding estimates. ``Classical" results for independent samples are recalled, situations in which the case of dependent sample can be (from the mathematical point of view) reduced to independent case are mentioned. A great attention is paid to weak dependent samples fulfilling the Phi-mixing condition.

Depressions problems in pacients with diabetes mellitus - analysis of the Beck depression inventory
Halamová, Magdalena ; Niederlová, Markéta (referee) ; Hrachovinová, Tamara (advisor)
Research results Monitored variables was evaluated with the application of following statistical methods: t-test for two independent samples, analysis of variance ANOVA, and correlaation analysis (the Pearson correlation coefficient). The level of depression judged by the average BDI score and the distribution of frequencies was significantly different only in terms of sex, women had a significantly higher average BDI score than men. In the lowest BDI score ( without depression) population percentage had more men, in the moderate depression and depressive had higher number of women. Analysis of BDI items found, in the terms of each observed variable a number of items, which differ significantly. Most often was item 9 - Suicidal Ideas, which differs significantly in relation to type of diabetes, sex, age and type of treatment. Analysis of general components BDI evidence highlights 3 factors explaining of 41,3% variance in the study population. Specificaly these were Negative feelings of oneself, Psychical discomfort and Somatic symptoms. Factors of Negative feelings of 7 oneself and Somatic symptoms differ significantly in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Conclusions The level of depression doesn't differ in patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Negative feelings of oneself is an underlying...

Higher Heating Value of Sewage Sludge
Mikluš, Michal ; Bělohradský, Petr (referee) ; Houdková, Lucie (advisor)
The thesis is focused on problems of thermal treatment of sludge from wastewater treatment plants. The main objective is to establish a formula for calculating higher heating value (HHV) and lower heating value (LHV) of sludge based on its chemical analysis. The work is divided into two main parts: The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of sludge, thermal treatment of sludge, it isn´t omitted higher heating value and lower heating value. The main topic of a practical part is formulation of eguations for HHV and LHV calculation. Chemical analysis of sludge samples were supplied by TÜV NORD Czech s.r.o., together with the values of HHV and LHV. The calculations were verified by the program MINITAB.

The prevention of nosocomial infections at central venous catheters in standard inpatient departments and intensive care units.
PAŽOUTOVÁ, Petra
Nosocomial infections are one of serious problems of modern medicine and nursing also nosocomial infections mean real serious problems for future. Prevention of nosocomial infections, applied together with pointed and meaningful antimicrobial therapy is the only causal solution now. This work was aimed primarily at a comparison of knowledge of common nurses working in intensive care wards and common nurses in standard wards. In general, it could be said that the aim of this work was to map the scope of knowledge of common nurses as for nosocomial infections as well as aseptic care for central venous catheters including catheter sepses. The found deficit in knowledge of common nurses pointed out the occurrence of mistakes in nursing practices. Quality of nursing is connected closely with standardisation of nursing procedures. Quantitative research inquiry was realised in 4 medical facilities: Regional hospital Liberec, a.s., Masaryk city hospital in Jilemnice, Hospital České Budějovice, a.s. and Hospital with polyclinic in Semily. As the research method there was chosen a non-standardised questionnaire. The sample of respondents was chosen as an intentional selectionand and in to statistic processing included 290 relevantly filled out forms. The research investigation also included a comparison and quantification of nursing standards. In view of the performed comparison of standards in nursing we concluded that creation of incomplete or even inconsistent standards occurs here. We have prepared a "Proposal on a standard of nursing care for inserted venous catheter", of which form could enable to implement it in medical care facilities within the Czech Republic and define clearly basic nursing procedures within the scope of these problems.

Brázda, Jiří ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Osička, Karel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a technology of production milling of sample component “ending of generator shaft” by CNC milling in environment of small company. At first common aspects of CNC machines, technology of CNC milling and technology of construction are introduced. Possible problems with milling of sample component are analyzed and their possible solutions are presented. Next technology of CNC milling with operating program for CNC lathe (HAAS SL20) and CNC milling machine (HAAS VF3), production of component in small company with necessary documentation in technology procedure are projected. Using of operating systems HAAS, Fanuc and HEIDEHAIN are compared. Using of cutting tools and cutting condition for component milling is projected. Finally timing of operations and financial calculations necessary for small production of sample component is proposed.

Difficulties of banks in the Czech Republic in the years1993-2003
Mikšová, Lucie ; Jílek, Josef (advisor) ; Vebrová, Ludmila (referee)
At the end of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century, most banks in the Czech Republic got into trouble. Some banks overcome this problems, but others have to cease their activities and lost their banking license. Difficulties of banks varied from case to case, but there were some common attributes. The first objective of this work is to find these common attributes. The second objective of this work is to identify "culprits" who were most involved in the difficulties of banks in the Czech Republic in the years 1993-2003. Method of incomplete induction will be used in this work. First of all, from all banks, which had difficulties in the years 1993-2003, I selected a sample of ten banks. Then for each bank I will detect the main causes of its problems. Subsequently, through a comparative method, I will determine the most frequent causes of the problems of banks in the years 1993-2003. To each cause I will assign a group of persons or institutions that contributed to its emergence. Finally, according to frequency of institutions and groups, I will identify the main "culprits", who were most involved in the difficulties of banks in the years 1993-2003. This work will be based primarily on the sources available in the library of University of Economics, the Library of the Czech National Bank and specialized literature, which deals with this issue.

The analysis of aberrations in the localization of the radiated fields during irradiation of the patients with rectum tumors by EPID method
HARTMANOVÁ, Magda
The presented thesis deals with the analysis of deviations in radiation fields during the irradiation of the patients with rectal tumors. The first part of the thesis is focused on the current problems connected with rectal and rectosigmoid cancer both in the Czech Republic and worldwide. It also includes the description of risk factors, characterisation of the given type oftumor, manifestation of the disease as well as the prognosis. What is also tackled is the prevention, which is important and often neglected. It was necessary to mention the possibilities of screening and dispensarisation programs. The next part deals with the diagnostic process (from anamnesis to specialised examinations) as well as the therapy. Chemotherapy and surgery are mentioned only marginally whereas radiotherapy, including its planning and methods, is dealt with in a more detailed way. The main part consists of the analysis of deviations in radiation fields. The deviations have been obtained by means of EPID (electron portal image device) in a sample of patients with rectal and rectosigmoid cancer who are treated with the use of radiotherapy at the oncological ward of the Hospital České Budějovice, Inc. The maximum, minimum and average deviation in the localization of radiation fields were assessed statistically, by means of the khi-quadrate test. The results obtained will be submitted to the oncological ward of the Hospital České Budějovice, Inc., where they can contribute to the assessment of radiotherapy quality. The thesis includes supplements such as portal images and tables with graphs indicating the development of the incidence and mortality for the chosen diagnosis within the entire population.

Continuous and discrete time attitude control of a vehicle
