Epidemiological study of obesity in populations of different racial, cultural, economic and dietary background
V ekonomicky méně vyspělých zemích existují rozdíly mezi BMI žen a mužů, kdy ženy mají průkazně vyšší (P< 0,05) hodnoty BMI oproti mužům. Obecně nejvyšší BMI vykazují státy s křesťanskou kulturou, poté státy s kulturou islámskou a nakonec státy ovlivněné buddhismem a hinduismem. U ekonomicky méně vyspělých států je dosahováno nejvyššího BMI u křesťanských států, naopak z ekonomicky vyspělých států mají nejvyšší hodnotu BMI státy s islámskou kulturou.

Comparison of optical methods for characterization of glass mosaic weathering
Kocour, Vladimír ; Petráňová, Veronika ; Valach, Jaroslav
The work presented in this paper is a part of research project supported by Ministry of Culture and devoted to conservation of precious mosaic of 'Last Judgement' on St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. The aim of the project is to enhance external protective polymeric coating on glass tesserae of mosaic and also to develop optical method for assessment of coating’s surface conditions. The paper concentrates on comparison of various methods for surface evaluation assesses their advantages and disadvantages and also discusses their suitability for long term monitoring of coating state, namely reflectometry, scanning probe microscopy, nanoindentation, white-light interferometry, and scanning electron microscopy. It is found that white-light interferometry and reflectometry methods are the most suitable ones for monitoring purposes.

The Catalogues of Records Companies of Early 20th Century
Gössel, Gabriel ; Šír, Filip
Grey literature often contains documents such as publisher or corporate catalogues. Included among these are catalogues of record companies, which provide evidence of all the sound documents issued for sale. Recordings are part of the collections of many institutions, but few of them also own these secondary information resources. Therefore, they are not able to contribute to the overall view of the cultural heritage of the era when the gramophone industry began and developed rapidly.

Cultural Centres
Adolfová, Barbora ; PROKOP, Petr (advisor) ; KAŠPAR, David (referee)
This thesis is concentrated on cultural centres built between years 1960 and 1990 in the former socialist Czechoslovakia. Six cultural centres have been chosen and analyzed to conclude the purposes they serve as well as the programs they offer. These chosen cultural centres are run as municipal organisations financed from the town budgets. The six towns where they are located are similar to each other in terms of their history, size and the time when their cultural centres were built. All of these centres share difficulties with the lack of cultural interest of local citizens, bad technical shape of the buildings in question and low budget. The aim of this thesis is to compare the functioning of these six cultural centres and conclude whether being directly funded and influenced by the municipal councils has a positive impact and should serve as a model for cultural centres or should be replaced by a different one. It also focuses on cooperation between the management of cultural centres and municipal officials, cooperation with other local cultural institutions and cultural centres from different towns.

Chapter 2 9 are specific parts of thesis where following scientific and practical aspects of pikeperch reproduction biology and aquaculture are described. Quality and quantity of pikeperch spermatozoa after varying cold water treatments are presented in the chapter 2 and can help to optimize broodstock management of males with the aim to obtain high quality spermatozoa during a seasonal and an out of season spawning as well. Benefits of hormone treatment of both sexes in semi-artificial reproduction in pikeperch are described in the chapter 3 where the importance of hormonal treatment of both sexes in tank spawning is evaluated for effective production pikeperch larvae. The use of an alcalase treatment for the elimination of pikeperch egg stickiness is being shown in the chapter 4 of this thesis. Post-ovulatory oocyte ageing and its effect on eggs viability rates and occurrence of larval malformations and ploidy anomalies are listed in chapter 5. These results describe the effects of the egg over ripening fertilization process in pikeperch. The first report of heat shock triploidisation in pikeperch is described in chapter 6 with production of 100% pikeperch triploid population. The effect of water surface treatment on survival, swim bladder inflation and growth of larvae is given in the chapter 7 with the aim to optimize the intensive culture of pikeperch larvae. Last two chapters (8 and 9) are describing the adaptation of intensively cultured juveniles to pond culture and the adaptation of pond-cultured juveniles to RAS as a new and effective methods for ongrowing production of pikeperch.
