The Bass as a Manifestation of Periodicity in Music
Esterle, Vojtěch ; MRKVIČKA, Luboš (advisor) ; HOŘÍNKA, Slavomír (referee)
This paper defines the function of the bass as the basis of harmonic hierarchy at first. After that the different forms of the bass in particular periods of time are followed. Then the problem of suppressing a bass in avant-garde music of the 20th century is brought forward; its new comeback is found in the minimal and the spectral music. The thesis is based on the concept of the affinity of principles which are responsible for the harmonic and the rhythmic hierarchy; this is the reason why the bass function can emerge also in a form of the rhythmic pulsation.

Title: Study of semiconductors by methods of time resolved laser spectroscopy: Luminescence spectroscopy of nanocrystalline diamond Author: Branislav Dzurňák Department: Department of Chemical Physics and Optics Supervisor: doc. RNDr. František Trojánek, Ph.D. Abstract: The PhD thesis is focused on optical properties of nanocrystalline diamond prepared by chemical vapour deposition method. Photoluminescence of nanocrystalline diamond samples and effects of ambient temperature, pressure, pH and UV irradiation on it are studied by laser spectroscopy. Results suggest the keyrole of water and air adsorbates which affect the energy states in the sub-bandgap region of diamond. Photoluminescence decay of samples of different surface termination and structure and its dependency on ambient pressure and temperature is studied by methods of ultrafast (picosecond and nanosecond scale) laser spectroscopy. Results are analysed by power-law decay function which fits well the luminescence decay curves and also describes the dynamics of charge carriers in states localised within the bandgap. The model of interaction of nanocrystalline diamond with air adsorbates is proposed. Non-linear optical properties of nanocrystalline diamond are also studied, namely the generation of second and third harmonic frequency. The thesis...

Agrioenvironmental programms, landscape and nature friendly practices
Jarošová, Lucie ; Fišer, Bohumil (referee) ; Čihař, Martin (advisor)
Agriculture is an important economic phenomenon. Its function, however, today not only in food production but also in the creation and protection of the countryside. It is one of the most important factors affecting biodiversity. In today's agricultural landscape in particular, suffer a small number of habitats for wild fauna and flora. New opportunities for promoting farming friendly nature brings agri-environmental programs, a set of titles contributing to maintaining a harmonious and colorful mosaic environment. Already his name combine agricultural and environmental approach. Gradually become an important financial instrument for the protection, maintenance and active creation of a nature and landscape. Farmers are allocated subsidies for friendly farming, which protects nature and the landscape beyond the normal agricultural practice. This thesis aims to summarize the general knowledge on agri- environmental programs and determine how they impact on nature and landscape. I will try to identify problem areas in the CR and provide an overview of the implementation of programs abroad.

Old Brno - CITY INSTEAD OF FACTORY
Hanousek, Jan ; Kotlas, Michal (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
Studied area is located in the vicinity of the Old Brno Mendel Square, which currently operates as a transport hub. This is the area of the former factory Krass and a connected area towards the Brno Exhibition Centre. My intention was to create a pleasant site for a comfortable accommodation with facilities, services and shops. Public spaces for recreation with plenty of green for a harmonious environment where people like to spend time after coming home from work. The proposal is the most appropriate combination function, so that the streets were never empty. When I came out of formation conditions of the existing building traditions from the surrounding construction. Most buildings in the locality has a business parter, the courtyard is then oriented recreational facilities to their residents. The whole area is lined with a barrier of higher buildings. As the starting area of the square Mendlovo and exhibition is considered a shopping center with arcade. Below the center is also located car park. In the middle of the square is located, is easily identifiable by high-rise landmark - the chimney heat. Floors territory ranges from 4 to 12 floors with a gradation towards the center. The location is surrounded by traffic and be served a few strokes, so I tried to do not let in a lot of cars.

Generalized limits of affine functions
Holub, Aleš ; Spurný, Jiří (advisor) ; Holický, Petr (referee)
We construct a co-analytic filter on the set of finite sequences of natural numbers, which allows us to obtain a strongly affine function of arbitrary Borel class from compact convex subset of locally convex space through single limit process (by this filter) applied to countable system of affine continuous functions. Conversely we show that function obtainted as result of such process is necessarily Borel and strongly affine. Further we generalize this method using metrizable reduction approach for Baire functions on non-metrizable spaces. Last chapter covers similar result for bi-analytic functions on separable metrizable spaces.

Methods for Analysis of Switched Circuits
Kovář, Jan ; Ondráček, Oldřich (referee) ; Kalous, Jaroslav (referee) ; Kolka, Zdeněk (advisor)
The dissertation deals with simulations of the DC-DC converters in their basic configurations (Buck, Boost, Buck-boost, Cuk, SEPIC). In the first part of the thesis derivation of transfer functions Line-to-Output (LTO) and Control-To-Output (CTO) can be found. These symbolic responses are derived for three types of basic converters (Buck, Boost, Buck-boost) using well-known average model [1]. Derived expressions are very complicated. For reduction of these expressions symbolic approximation method was used, however the generality is lost. The average model was used to for decreasing the computational effort of analysis of DC-DC converters in the time domain. For these simulations VHDL-AMS language was used. The main topic of the thesis is harmonic balance method, which was adapted to DC-DC converters. Because conditions and assumptions for LTO and CTO functions are very different, harmonic balance method was derived into two variants. For obtaining of LTO response, duty cycle of switching signal can be considered as constant in time. Spectrum of this signal is simple as follows from well-known sinc function. For obtaining of CTO response PWM modulation must be used. Compared to sinc function spectrum of PWM modulation is richer (contains more combination frequencies). Many types of PWM modulation is described in [31]. For simulation PWM modulation with uniform sampling in two variants (single and double edge) was used. Non-ideal switching of PWM switch was modeled by PWM pulse with defined slew rate. Last section deals with comparison of all derived functions (LTO, CTO, modulation type, defined slew rate) with well-known averaged model.

Harmonic analysis of a musical composition
Hradecký, Tomáš ; Holan, Tomáš (referee) ; Obdržálek, Jan (advisor)
This work describes what is known about music theory and it suggests an algorithm for dynamic just-intonation tuning. Software Prelad (Retune) is an integral part of this work. This software contains the following functions: loading a MIDI file containing a musical composition; inserting microtuning instructions and exporting to a MIDI file; classifying melodic and harmonic notes; the automatic suggestion of a tuning in the musical composition with a view to achieving just-intonation distances between notes in chords; the possibility of user corrections of the automatic suggestion; genetic algorithm to find suboptimal settings for the weighting of criteria for classifying melodic and harmonic notes. The text of this work contains the description of well-known tunings, the explanation of melodic and harmonic notes, the description of the MIDI-file format and the description of the software Prelad (Retune). It also describes the algorithm for the automatic suggestion of a tuning and the genetic algorithm for finding suboptimal settings for weighting of criteria for classifying melodic and harmonic notes. This text also contains the user's manual and the program documentation.
