JELÍNKOVÁ, Adéla
This thesis focused on the French female writer Benoîte Groult studies the influence of her life and her feministic attitudes on her literary work. The work is divided into two parts, a theoretical and a practical one. The first part describes individual stages in the evolution of the feminist movement in France. In addition it contains Groult´s biography, the beginnings of her writing career, and her involvement in feminist events in France in the latter half of the 20th century. The practical part consists of analyses of two of her novels. It primarily focuses on the characteristics of the main female characters of these books and their relationships to their environment. The aim of this research is to find out through these analyses whether and how Groult?s feminist attitudes are reflected in her work and to what extent they are inspired by her life.

Picture of woman in the Milan Begović's prose
O to více překvapuje, navzdory nepodloženému mýtu o autorově ustašovské orientaci v období druhé světové války, trvale nízký zájem, který domácí literární sféra projevuje o Begoviéovu osobitou tvorbu. Milan Begovié do prozaického zobrazení svých ženských hrdinek obratně promítá konzervativní pohled příznačný...

Desire, Torment, Effie Briest and L?Adultera. There is a theoretical part at the beginning of my thesis. I have focused on dealing with specialized foundation. It is followed by comparison of historical reality with reality shown in the book. At the end of the whole thesis, there is the third part ? comparison of all three novels, generally as well as from the point of view of the main characters and the historical fidelity of books.

Time and Space in the Work of Karl Šiktanec

Love and faith. Erotic motives in Jaroslav Durych's writing.
Paukerová, Lucie ; Vaněk, Václav (advisor) ; Wiendl, Jan (referee)
The present thesis focuses on the relation between religion and sexuality on chosen works of the catholic author Jaroslav Durych (1886-1962). It deals with his essayistic work, which contains the author's concept of art, as well as with his poetry and prose, in which he examines erotic motives and the image of a woman-virgin. The aim of this thesis is to show, how Durych, as a substantive catholic, deals with the topic of sexuality, in which contexts he puts the sensual beauty of a girl and what meaning creates Eros in his writing. Inter alia, the thesis also deals with specific aspects and motives of Durych's erotica and pays a big attention to the analysis of the girl heroines whose mutual similarity and interchangeability, their fixed way of imaging and the idealized image create a standardized woman heroine of Durych's works - called in the thesis "the nude girl", who is the intersection of Eros, the religious ethics and the motive of poverty.

Christian Symbols in M. A. Hansen's Novel The Liar as a Work of Christian Existentialism
Slouková, Radka ; Humpál, Martin (advisor) ; Hartlová, Dagmar (referee)
The Liar is one of the Danish writer Martin A. Hansen's best known and popular novels. The Liar is influenced by existentialism, one can call it a work of Christian existentialism. In my thesis I demonstrate which main features of Christian existentialism are present in the novel. In the first part I describe existentialism as philosophy. Existentialism came from France to Denmark. It is a philosophy that focuses on the concrete individual. People must create their own existentence by accepting responsibility for their action. The important concepts are freedom, choice and responsibility. They denote the authentic existence. People in the inauthentic existence are passive, they don't act and don't accept responsibility. Existentialism takes up the question of freedom, too. But one is condemned to freedom and can't escape. That's why the world is absurd and incomprehensible. One can find most of the existentialist elements in The Liar. The protagonist Johannes Vig lives an inauthentic existence. He likes to lie to the people. He is passive, he doesn't act. In the middle of the novel he understands that he didn't live right and tries to find a better way of living. It is not easy, Johannes has lost the fight about Annemari (the girl he loves) and slept with Rigmor (the woman who loves him). But now he has...

Reflection of French Religious Conditions and Renaissance Thinking in Margaret of Navarre's Heptametron
Beranová, Daniela ; Listíková, Renáta (advisor) ; Ébert-Zeminová, Catherine (referee)
The diploma thesis The Reflection of French Religious Conditions and Renaissance Thinking in Margaret of Navarre's Heptameron is about the life and work of Margaret of Navarre who is one of the most important personalities in French history and literature. The thesis introduces her as an enlightened woman representing significant progress in French society who was ahead of her time in many areas. This paper focuses on the analysis of her only prosaic book Heptameron. The analysis proves that this book contains not only medieval, but also renaissance characteristics. Deep philosophical and theological questions, which were actual for the religious reformation were brought up and elaborated by Margaret in Heptameron. The thesis tries to uproot an erroneous idea about the unimportant role of women in the past. It also tries to prove that it is impossible to distinguish distinct dividing lines between different periods in history. KEYWORDS Margaret of Navarre Heptameron Renaissance Reformation

Women as a literary motif in work of Jakub Deml
Brkičová, Nea ; Wiendl, Jan (advisor) ; Binar, Vladimír (referee)
The work deals with the motif of a woman in the works of Jakub Deml. It starts by presenting some necessary facts and events of his life. In the main part, it tries to identify the basic archetypes of feminity in Deml's works, focusing especially on the Marian Cult, that strongly influences the transformation of living persons into supra-personal and symbolical ones. In the final analysis, the question of whether the motives of archetypal women are really dominating or whether they just mirror the poet's spiritual search and fight is adressed. Key words Eliška Wiesenebergerová, Jakub Deml, Kateřina Sweerts-Sporcková, catholic mysticism, catholic poetry, marian cult in the literature, Marie Rosa Junová, Matylka Demlová, Miriam, motif of a woman in the literature, Pavla Kytlicová, Forgotten Light
