Teacher´s attitudes to hyperactive pupils
KRÁLOVÁ, Martina
ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is nowadays the most frequently diagnosed children mental disorder. It appears at 3-6% of school children. One of the causes of this hyperkinetic syndrome is immaturity of central nervous system, where genetic and non-genetic factors, which emerge prenatally, are applied. Then children have attention problems, they are impulsive and hyperactive. The beginning of studies at elementary school is very important step for the child because the school is trying to socialize and develop the attitude to life. Teachers are expected to use respect to individuality and personality to make the studying attitude easy for the child. Working with hyperactive child (and working with the whole class where this child belongs as well) is de facto a special demand on the teacher and it is highly above the usual education competence. In theoretical part of this thesis I'm trying to describe ADHD problems and I write as well about conception of this syndrome and of corresponding terminology, from minimal cerebral dysfunction to today's conception of ADHD. Individual chapters are dedicated to symptoms of ADHD and to occurrence of the disorder, to it's causes and diagnostics. I also add a chapter about different course of ADHD at both sexes. Then I work in detail on problems connected with adaptation of child with ADHD to school environment ? I describe usual behaviour of hyperactive child, the influence of class, the teacher's personality and his (or her) ideas about students. I also quote the main legislation, rules and provisions connected to teaching a child with ADHD. Taking into consideration the importance of family on child's working at school, I add an extra chapter about a family with ADHD child, in which I describe relationships between the parents and the child and their rules to successful raising. At the end of the theoretical part I write about consulting facilities that parents and teachers can use, I examine how they work and what they provide. In my research I present the course and the result of qualitative research which is focused on elementary teacher's experience with teaching hyperactive students. I was not only interested in teachers' knowledge and in their attitude to hyperactive students but also in practical skills that they use during teaching. I am using these four questions to express the general task of my research: 1) What is the teachers' experience with hyperactive students like? 2) How is cooperation with their parents? 3) How does cooperation with consulting facilities look like? 4) How to apply methodical instructions? Research questions are further converted into questions for the semi-structured interview. The results from the research are supported by information from the interview with ten teachers from elementary schools. The most important result of my research is finding out that pedagogical assistant together with sitting in front of the class significantly improves children's adaptation to school requirements. Hyperactivity does not influence the class social status of children with ADHD. Between teachers there is a widespread belief that hyperactivity can be partially influenced in the family. Teachers are satisfied with cooperation between them and parents and they do not want to change it. Families cooperate with pedagogical-psychological advisory center or with other specialists (psychiatrist, neurologist or psychologist). While trying to apply methodical instructions, teachers from my research group do not rely on help from PPP and they prefer to solve problems themselves. This thesis demonstrates authentic experience of teachers who has worked with hyperactive children. I write about specific teaching demands and about principles for working with hyperactive students that can be useful for general pedagogical public.

The Renaissance in Musical Education at Secondary Schools
Tomšíčková, Marie ; Herden, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Hurníková, Kateřina (referee)
Early music seems to be rather unpopular with both students and their teachers at secondary schools. The reasons of this fact vary from case to case. Some consider it too remote from the contemporary world and as such they see no reason why it should be a part of general education. Some teachers may like the music but do not know how to make it appealing for the students. This is why I chose the Renaissance music as the topic of my diploma thesis. I think the music is still very attractive, even though about 500 years old. It can be profound and funny, complex and simple, graceful and rough as much as the Renaissance people were. In the first part of my work I have analyzed the school curriculum and the current textbooks to see to what extent the students are expected to learn about the early music and what sources do they and their teachers have to use. The second part comprises my own project of five ninety-minute meetings in which students experience both the authentic music (listening activities) and lively work such as elementary composition, dances, and class orchestra performance. The students are supposed to share the preparation for the meetings by preparing short presentations. These presentations are planned in such way that altogether they should create the whole picture of the Renaissance...

On the issue of past tenses in Portuguese and Spanish: a constrastive study based on a selected work
Weisová, Alžběta ; Hricsina, Jan (referee) ; Jindrová, Jaroslava (advisor)
In our thesis entitled On the Issue of Past Tenses in Spanish and Portuguese: Constrastive Study Based on a Selected Work we have compared the past tense system in contemporary Spanish and Portuguese, in order to discover main differences on the temporal as well as on the extratemporal level. In general, the complexness of the repertory of past tenses in Romance languages makes the full comprehension of the problem by not native speaker extremely difficult. Moreover, the linguistic proximity of both languages can cause many interferences and the phenomenon called "false friends". In the first "theoretical" part we have observed the principal theories of the most significant linguists and tried to demonstrate their statements on an authentic linguistic material. We have discovered many secondary meanings at every paradigm, which implicates difficulties during the study or translation. As we expected the essential difference on the temporary level consists in the use of perfeito composto in Portuguese and perfecto compuesto in Spanish, which also have different aspectual characteristics. On the other hand, most secondary (mainly modal) values are in both languages represented by imperfeito / imperfecto. In case of mais-que-perfeito / pluscuamperfecto there is an asymmetrical relation between the morphological...

Questions and interrogative sentences in Czech
Dřímal, Jakub ; Hošnová, Eva (referee) ; Nebeská, Iva (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to describe the system of questions and question sentences in Czech language. The question is defined here as being an utterance with interrogative function. In the first chapter, the position of question within the system of other communicative functions is being searched for. The primary function of questions (interrogative) and distinctive formal devices of question sentences (e.g. rising tone in a yes/no question or a question-word in a wh-question) can be contrasted with secondary functions, e.g. an expression of an expectation of a certain answer, surprise etc. Those can be signalized by the form, for instance by the word order, negation or by particles. Complex relations between both primary and secondary formal devices of questions and their functions are examined. The questions without interrogative form and the question sentences lacking interrogative function are dealt with too. In the second part of the thesis, the theoretical observations are applied in the analysis of the questions in TV debates. Therefore, the interpretation is extended with the information about the specific forms and use of interrogative utterances in an authentic dialogue.

Safe Cryptography Algorithms
Mahdal, Jakub ; Hanáček, Petr (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
This thesis brings a reader an overview about historical and modern world of cryptographic methods, as well evaluates actual state of cryptographic algorithm progressions, which are used in applications nowadays. The aim of the work describes common symmetric, asymmetric encryption methods, cryptographic hash functions and as well pseudorandom number generators, authentication protocols and protocols for building VPNs. This document also shows the basics of the successful modern cryptanalysis and reveals algorithms that shouldn't be used and which algorithms are vulnerable. The reader will be also recommended an overview of cryptographic algorithms that are expected to stay safe in the future.

On the Role of Man in the World (Contemplations in the Late Works of Jan Patočka)
PIZINGER, David
Annotation This work is interested in the late philosophy of Jan Patočka. The leading idea is to find basic motives in Patočka{\crq}s concept of The care of soul, and tries to make a connection to his life and social context. One of the most important expressions of the social reality is art. Jan Patočka{\crq}s continuing theme was the problem of human exsitence. How to live an authentic life. The post modern art is also interested in being authentic. The man according to Patočka is a personality determined by going out of his self and by finding this self from a different point of view. That is the question for performing arts: How to express the inside to be visible, how to make it a partner of a dialogue? Which means that Jan Patočka{\crq}s philosophy can be realized by some special kind of praxis. A praxis which is not practical as such. In the works of Jan Patočka, Being and social role play a substantial role. The problem of narration {--} a myth as a part of the process of young man{\crq}s identification and his acceptance from the society. The question of how to be a part of a society implicates another one: what are the foundations of society? What is the idea of European society? Questions concerning the heritage of Europe are {--} in anticipation {--} questions about the sense of Europe (or the European Union) today. In general, is there a possibility to live together, in any kind of human comunity? Through society he gets back to individuality with its questions. Patočka tries to ask concrete questions, expecting answers from Being itself. What is important: he doesn{\crq}t want to make a comprehensive system (following the example of Platón), he only urgently seeks the questions which can open the Being's truth. The sources: This work uses Jan Patočka`s texts from the 1970s. It compares them with texts from the field of art and tries to find their historical context.

Lexical coselections in non-native speaker English text
Felcmanová, Andrea ; Klégr, Aleš (advisor)
The research reported in this thesis explores the degree of authenticity of the formulaic language used by NNSs and the extent to which a learner's L1 interferes in the production of different types of multi-word units, namely non-idiomatic recurrent three and four-word combinations (lexical bundles), phrasal and prepositional verbs and collocation. Drawing on Granger's Contrastive Interlanguage analysis (CIA 1996), the investigation is conducted on two different learner sample corpora and subsequently contrasted with a native sample corpus. The study aims to prove that multi-word units pose a challenge for learners for several reasons. In general terms, learners are assumed to operate predominantly on what Sinclair calls the open-choice principle, that is to say their production will be less idiomatic than that of native speakers'. This assumption is independently tested on different types of phraseological combinations. As regards non-idiomatic recurrent word combinations, learners are expected to be more repetitive in their three- and four-word combinations and use less creativity in their writing. Concerning the phrasal verbs, it is highly likely to observe a small number of phrasal verbs in the non-native writing whereas prepositional verbs are considered problematic for learners due to the...
