Gonzo journalism-his origin, progress and influence on journalism
Nouzová, Pavlína ; Beneš, Piere (advisor) ; Vedral, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with Gonzo journalism in all the world and especially in Czech republic. First part is about origin of Gonzo journalism and its "founder" Hunter S. Thompson. I use his personality to show a form of old Gonzo and I portray typical features of this style or its authors with using Thompson's articles. I choose as a main article The Kentucky Derby Is Decadent and Depraved, which is considered as a first Gonzo article. But not only history is important, so the thesis is also about modern Gonzo in foreign countries. As in the first part, I chose one typical representative of this style - Matt Taibbi. He contributes to Rolling Stone magazine (like Thompson did, too) and often disgusts many of his readers. In his case, I don't focus on particular articles, but on two magazines - The eXile and New York Press. I use these two distinctive personalities (Thompson and Taibbi) to compare old Gonzo with a modern form and I explain differences and causes of them. Next very short part of my thesis is about Gonzo in other branches and I show the popularity of Gonzo besides journalism. Then I focus on Gonzo journalism in Czech republic. I chose as main journalists Michal Nanoru, Honza Vedral and Petr Wagner and as main magazines Živel, Filter and Full Moon. I compare them and show their strengths...

Awareness of freedom and risks in the terrorism era
Brandejsová, Michaela ; Kabele, Jiří (advisor) ; Tuček, Milan (referee)
My final thesis tries to analyze the consciousness of liberty and risks in the terrorism time. It deals the analysis of questions of the terrorism itself as well as the anti-terrorist measures and their impacts on the democracy, human rights and freedoms. The text focuses the risks on the rights and freedoms which are jeopardized with the argumentation of the security insurance. In the first part, the problems and questions of the terrorism itself is handled and its contemporary images and interpretations of the origins are discussed. Later, the risks connected with the terrorism are mentioned with the stress of its societal fear. The analysis of the anti-terrorist measures follows the line in the inhabitants security. In the second part of the thesis, there is the presentation of the results of the survey. The research with the university students in the Czech Republic focuses the legitimacy of the implemented programs and the reflections of evens connected with the problems of the terrorist threats. The author finds the result, that the legitimacy depends on the type of a particular anti-terrorist program. The university students tend to accept the "pasive" measures (like the control and camera in the underground, phone monitoring) and the programs of the "democracy export". On the contrary, the students...

Formation and functioning of single-party governments under the conditions of proportional voting system
Tesár, Dominik ; Němec, Jan (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Miloš (referee)
The text deals with the formation and functioning of single-party majority and minority governments in democracies with proportional voting systems. It focuses on the conditions and circumstances of formation of such governments and on the aspects of political system which affect these processes - specifically on party systems that use the Sartori´s typology, on particular settings and effects of voting systems and on legal and customary rules of government formation, especially considering the relations between the government and parliament. Subsequent case studies are dedicated to particular instances of single-party governments in European Union countries (Spain, Portugal, Slovakia and Sweden) in the 21st century and to the circumstances of their formation. It is concluded that majority single-party governments are formed under the conditions of regular proportional voting system in moderate pluralism in the case of voters being inclined in a certain direction. The magnitude of constituencies is significantly influential in these cases. Minority single-party governments are formed in political cultures where it is acceptable, when no party wins an absolute majority of parliament seats, and if - thanks to the party system or to the rules (like negative parliamentarism or constructive vote of no confidence) and customs of government formation and dissolution - there is no possibility or need of forming a coalition government.

e-Voice Reader
Dvořák, Petr ; Jákl, Vojtěch (referee) ; Cejnar, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of this project is to make communication between human and mobile technologies easier and allow i.e. people with seeing difficulties to use it accordingly. Input and output methods based on keyboards, screens and touch screens might not be natural and usable in some cases. The most efficient form of communication is probably the verbal communication, in other words, the "method of spoken word". Unfortunately, most devices do not support this method in sufficient quality so that it could become widely spread. Mainly "smart devices" are very popular nowadays and they are a big challenge in making them more human-like so that they could become natural and standard part of our lives. They have almost no means of telling the information to user in other way than via (touch) screen. However, a voice control is becoming a standard. Project e-Voice Reader is an application that can perform a voice reading of some common file formats and it enables user with limited ability to see to use PDA and perform some common tasks with such a device.

Návrh školní odborné dílny
Holek, Martin
This bachelor thesis describes a proposal of school technical workshop for engi-neer of electronics and related fields of studies. The theoretic part defines the specifics of electrical workshops which succumb and comply with safety standards, framework education programme and teaching methods used in lectures of technical training. There is also a lot of emphasis on the specifics of psychology in the working environment. For processing of the theoretical part are used methods such as studying of reference books, creating notes and their analysis, comparing and synthesis. The practical part contains its own proposal of electrical workshop with equipment (in terms of psychological factors of work environment, teaching observations, safety standards and framework education programme). This proposal is analysed by evaluation questionnaire which was collected from selected high schools and vocational schools. The data are analysed by using a descriptive statistics.

The qualitative approach in modern research of addictions in Czech Republic during 1990s
Miovský, Michal
The development of qualitative approach and methods in research of drug users and drug use was during 1990s very rapid. It is impossible to provide a summary of this approach and methods in the Czech Republic unless we describe wider contexts of development of science in our country in the second half of the last century. Influence of communist ideology on science was obvious in many disciplines. However, the field of humanistic studies suffered the most. Under the communist regime, qualitative approach was not officially discussed in universities, and it was regarded as unscientific. Therefore, apart from a few exceptions, officially published scientific studies that made use of qualitative methodology have only started to appear in 1990s.

Art, play and the development of personality
Šašek, Miroslav ; Zuska, Vlastimil (advisor) ; Dadejík, Ondřej (referee)
Art and play are social phenomena with features which could be used in personality development. This thesis is at first plan trying to see what these phenomena are likes. It seems that mentioned phenomena are cultural universalities and that art has a longer tradition of thinking of its subject than play. This thesis tries to say how play manifests itself. Its manifestations are called symptomas and we can find ten of these. We part from works of J. Huizinga, R. Caillois and E. Fink. In this way we get a measure to distinguish among the play and other forms of activities, e.g. little games, riddles, sayings as less structured activities. And sport, outdoor, model and psychological activities as the ones with greater complexity than the play on the other side. We point that a play lies on the aesthetic ground or even that its aesthetic activity is dominant. In the following part we deal with the term art. Across historical use of this notion we come to Jan Mukarovsky's and Nelson Goodman's point of view. Art is a system of signs which not only in functions as means of meaning, but its meaning lies on different symbolical fields from plain sign immediacy to complex reference. At the end of this work we have compared these two phenomena and try to point out to different possible ways of use for personality...

Environment for Animation of Algorithms - Translator and Data Manipulation
Štěpán, Petr ; Holan, Tomáš (referee) ; Kryl, Rudolf (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis describes some of the main components of the AAnim software project. AAnim offers an environment for viewing and creating own programs in a simple Pascal-like language named AL. AL programs can be singlestepped, it is possible to display and change the values of their variables using the table of variables or using more advanced renderers and type editors. The more specialised animation of the running program is provided by visualisation modules (named animators). The titled input data of an algorithm (input variable sets) can be created, further used and managed by AAnim. AAnim is extensible by adding modules which deliver new types, functions and procedures to AL and animators. The following main components of the program are described in this work: translator, unified algorithm data management, type editors and renderers and animators.
