Difficulties of an Adult Student in Learning and Remembering Vocabulary
Šilarová, Lucie ; Dvořák, Bohuslav (advisor) ; Vít, Radek (referee)
This bachelor's thesis is intended to search for the most efficient methods, strategies, techniques and activities in learning and teaching English vocabulary regarding an adult student with difficulties in learning and remembering English vocabulary. The research is founded on theoretical part which deals with general questions of learning vocabulary, processes of remembering words and various approaches, methods, strategies and activities, with special focus on memorization. Practical part of this thesis is based on the student's characterization according to his multiple intelligence type. The research examines various techniques and activities which were used in lessons and their effects on the student's success in remembering words.

Security of Enterprise VoIP Telephony Networks
Šolc, Jiří ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor)
This thesis focuses on enterprise VoIP telephony network security. Introduces brief comparison of old analog and digital voice networks and IP telephone networks with special focus on VoIP system security. The goal of the thesis is to identify the risks of implementation and operation of VoIP technologies in enterprise environment and so thesis brings some conclusion how to minimalize or avoid these risks. First two chapters briefly introduce the development of telephony technologies with differentiation of enterprise telephone network from public telephone networks. Further it describes individual technologies, digitalization of voice, processing the signal and VoIP protocols and components. Third chapter focuses on infrastructure of telephony networks with special interest for architecture of IP telephony and ways of establishing call processing. It describes data flows for further security risk analysis, which this technology came with. Fifth chapter is about enterprise security standards in common and is trying to describe information security management system (ISMS) adopting VoIP technology. Individual security threats and risks are described in sixth chapter, along with known methods how to avoid them. Final parts of thesis concludes of two real situation studies of threats and risks of VoIP technologies implemented in environment of small commercial enterprise and medium size enterprise, in this example represented by University of economics. These chapters conclude theoretical problems shown on practical examples.

Non-metabolic use of solar energy in plants
REJŠKOVÁ, Alžběta
Non-metabolic use of solar energy in plants can be seen as plant thermoregulation driven directly by solar irradiance. Adaptations leading to warming up are particularly important in cold habitats. Cooling processes are needed everywhere where there is short-term or long-term excess of solar energy. Plants are of utmost importance for ecosystem and landscape functioning. Vegetation has a potential to regulate the Earth{\crq}s surface temperature and improve conditions for other living organisms. By regulating energy and water fluxes between land surface and the atmosphere vegetation is closely related to the climate system.

Diffusion processes in modified humic gels
Grunt, Jakub ; Sedláček, Petr (referee) ; Klučáková, Martina (advisor)
This bachelor thesis presents a study on diffusion of cupric ions in humic acid gels. A total of four types of samples were made during a modified preparation of gels. Humic acids were dissolved either in sodium hydroxide or in the solution of sodium triphosphate. Subsequently, hydrochloric acid and magnesium chlorid were used for "precipitation" of the gels. Gained samples differed particularly in the nature of interactions forming their gel structures. All the samples were subjected to diffusion experiments. Two different methods – constant-source diffusion and immediate planar source diffusion – were used to assign the diffusion coefficients. Both these methods were based on monitoring how the diffusion profiles of cupric ions in gels develop in time and on assigning the overall diffusion flow. The aim of the thesis was to assess the impact of gel preparation procedure and resultant structure on diffusion coefficients of cupric ions and their transport attributes in gels in general. Two different methods of diffusion inquiry were chosen particularly to assess the impact of cupric ion concentration on the diffusion coefficient.

Drugs and activities that could cause danger to life, health or damage to property
HANDSCHUHOVÁ, Silvie
The objective of this thesis is to summarize the effects of drugs, especially of the cannabinoids and amphetamine type stimulants, and to analyse which of these substances leads to high-risk activities, that could endanger life, health or result in damage to property. One of these activities, an important one, is driving under the influence of drugs. Driving itself is a complex demand, involving perception, decision making, psychomotor skills, knowledge, as well as attitudes and personality characteristics. Substance use and abuse has an impact on the functioning of the brain and mental processes and therefore on the performance of the driving task. Driving under the influence of drugs is a high risk activity which endangers not only the driver but also their surroundings. In the last few years, the Czech Republic registered a rapid increase in the number of impaired drivers, namely at police check points and in car accidents. The young drivers are mostly under influence of marijuana, respectively tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Its negative effect on driving results from impaired co-ordination, slowed complex reaction time and in space and time distortion. The second group of drugs which can impair drivers is amphetamine type stimulants. Amphetamines are frequently sought by truck drivers, especially long-haul drivers, in Western Europe for its stimulative effects. In the Czech Republic the methamphetamine, Pervitin, is much more common. Intoxication is characterized by increased wakefulness, increased physical activity, increased respiration, rapid heart rate and an irregular heartbeat. The risk factors for driving are a lack of concentration and an overestimation of one{\crq}s own capabilities. After the acute phase of intoxication subsides, fatigue or states of narcolepsy may occur. Another amphetamine-based drug is methylenedioxymethamphetamine, MDMA or Ecstasy. This synthetic substance, chemically related to mescaline, is dangerous due to its ability to regulate body temperature. On rare but unpredictable occasions, this can lead to sharp hyperthermia, resulting in liver, kidney and cardiovascular system failure, and death. It can also cause hallucinations. All common drugs are easily detectable with ``drug test-cards{\crqq}, which are used during police checks around the the world. The Czech Republic is currently testing their utilization and is preparing legislation accordingly. Utilization of these tests during random checks could help to decrease the number of fatal road accidents and could help to decrease the number of impaired drivers on the roads.

Comprehensive Assessment of Energy Demand in Production of Granules for Renewable Resources Heating
STERNBERG, Jiří
The first part of the graduation thesis deals with renewable resources, utilization possibilities of biomass and plant phytomass. The most common sources from which phytomass is obtained, are also mentioned here. A great deal of attention is paid to selected energetic plants included into the experiment. It is Sorrel Rumex OK-2 (Rumex tianschanicus x Rumex patientia) and Poppy seed (Papaver Somniferum). Further there are summarized the processes necessary for separating and pressing of biomass into granules for direct combustion. Within the research, two-year experience of growing sorrel stand is described. On the basis of performed technological operations in the stand, energy demands of growing are calculated. The real usage of energy at the production of one tonne of granules is measured. When labour costs are taken into account I can say that the expenses for the production of one tonne of briquettes from biomass would be 4 592 CZK, which is a non-competitive sum.

Biodiversity of standing floodplain waters and processes of its formation and preservation
Pithart, David
Water chemistry and planktic communities in the naturally eutrophic alluvial waters in the Lužnice floodplain have been studied. The floofplain waters are naturally eutrophic, with strong vertical physico-chemical gradients and oxygen depletions at the botom. Small pools and backwaters of this type have unique phytoplankton structure. Prevailing dominance of flegellates, namely Cryptophyceae, and low proportion of green chlorococcal algae and Diatoms, and almost absence of Cyanophyceae are very unusual for such eutrophic waters. Flagellate dominate thanks their ability to keep the vertical position in a permanently light limited conditions (resulted from poorly mixed water columns and intensive shading of water surface by vegetation). Floodplain geodiversity play crucial role, determining morphology and location of pools and backwaters, their exposition to flooding and inflows of underground water. Terrestial vegetation effects light exposition, leaf litter.
