Podzimek, Michal ; Kočárek, Jiří (advisor) ; Kolombo, Ivan (referee)
Cancer of prostate is the most frequent male malignity and also it is the second most common cause of death in Europe and in the USA. There are 2 228 new cases reported in the Czech republic per year. The probability of occurrence of this disease is one to six during whole life. There is a good success in detection of his disease in the early stage due to development of screening methods. In such case the radical prostatectomy is very successful method of treatment. Besides of operation methods like open radical prostatectomy and laparoscopic prostatectomy there is a new operation method using robotic system da Vinci. The aim of this machine is to bring the advantages of the miniinvasive surgery together with keeping intuitive handling like in open surgery. First da Vinci system was bought and installed in the Central military hospital in Prague, Czech republic in 2005. The common knowledge about using this method is very low in both general public and specialists. Nor patients, neither their doctors often know about possibility of surgery using da Vinci system. The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate almost three years of experience of treatment localized prostate tumor using da Vinci system, and to describe its possibilities, benefits and disadvantages. Approximation of velocity distribution in open channel flow
Ivanova, Irina ; Vlasák, Pavel ; Chára, Zdeněk ; Kysela, Bohuš
The paper deals with approximation of spatial distribution of mean downstream velocity of sub-critical turbulent flow in an open rectangular channel with rough bed. New formulae of the local downstream velocity component Vx(y, z) dependence on the vertical coordinate y and lateral coordinate z were introduced. The vertical velocity profile was approximated by log-law and the power law was used to describe the effect of channel walls on the horizontal velocity profile. The suggested formulae of spatial downstream velocity component distribution were calibrated and verified using the experimental data obtained by PIV method. The proposed approximation is in good agreement with experimental data, the difference between experimental and calculated data is in range of 5 - 10% except the area near the channel’s corners and water level, where the maximal difference reaches 60% and 30% of experimental values, respectively.

Kučerová, Zuzana ; Kopřiva, Radek (advisor) ; Lenka, Lenka (referee)
The thesis deals with contemporary theories of the citizens involvement in municipal life and civic society. It works with Nekol s concept which is a typology of forms of participation. The aim of the thesis is to test the usefulness of this concept on two selected municipalities in the Czech Republic Týnec nad Labem and Krakovany. The thesis focuses mainly of the description of participation forms and it examines the factors which influence the differences in people s participation. It shows that Nekol s concept is a useful tool in the effort to understand these differences in the two selected municipalities. The decisive distinguishing aspect is the stability of political environment. In Krakovany, the political environment is settled and is connected with the mayor, who is an important initiator of development in the town.

There have been eleven elections to the communal self-government during the tracked period. We have been able (thanks to the acquired results of the elections) to find that the electoral right has increased because of the pressure from minor political parties. Only 15% percent of inhabitants could vote the communal vestry in the prewar period because of the unfair election right. The majority of voters of the first congregation was represented by the members of the so called "honoration". The third chapter has shown the changes in the social structure of the self government of Pardubice. Comparatively stable and active component were the members of the artes liberales. The highest increase in the number of representatives was in the state bureaucracy. The fourth part focuses on the political development in the field of struggle for the directorial positions in the municipality. The fifth part deals with management of local self goverment of Pardubice and construction of the modern...
