International involvement in the peacebuilding process on Sri Lanka
Mojžíš, Michal ; Havlová, Radka (advisor) ; Burešová, Jana (referee)
The final months of Sri Lankan civil war, the 26 year military campaign between the Government of Sri Lanka and the insurgent separatist organization Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, are marked by allegations of war crimes committed by both parties of the conflict, including attacks on civilians, summary executions of prisoners, enforced disappearances, restrictions on humanitarian assistance and recruitment of children. Since the attempts to put the Sri Lankan issue on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council failed on the unwillingness of China and Russia, the UN bodies in Geneva have taken a leading role in promoting the peacebuilding process on the island. The thesis aims to analyse the impact of the Geneva-based human rights bodies, in particular of the United Nations Human Rights Council, on the process of reconciliation in Sri Lanka, for which is crucial that the alleged violations of human rights in the last months of the civil war would be properly investigated and that the perpetrators would be held accountable. In order to put the activity of the UN Human Rights Council into broader context, the paper will examine the political development in Sri Lanka since the end of the civil war in 2009 as well as the failed efforts of Sri Lankan governments to launch the process of reconciliation.

Conea, Cristina ; Kandakov, Alexander (advisor) ; Ivanova, Tatiana (referee)
Moldova is considered the poorest country in the European continent. The most important sector of the national economy in Moldova is still agricultural sector. 75 % of the population of Moldova live in rural areas and their livelihood depends on agriculture. Yet, agriculture in Moldova is the least developed among European countries and it faces major problems. Because of these reasons, with the entrance of Romania into the European Union, Moldova became a neighboring countrz and EU countries get more interested in international cooperation with Moldova. Through developing the quality of higher agricultural education in Moldova the improvement of unfavorable situation of Moldavian agriculture could be reached. Thanks to transfers of knowledge, know-how and better preparation of agricultural experts can be significantly improved the competitiveness of country's agriculture within european market. In Republic of Moldova were held projects dealing with development of education. This work analyze the improvement of the quality of the educational process at State Agrarian University in Chisinau. The research of thesis was aimed to teachers of university, who passed courses of pedagogical qualification. The results show that Czech courses lacked direct stays in the Czech agricultural universities and other agricultural institutions and more practical lessons rather than theoretical were needed. Neverthless, profesors consider Czech courses of pedagogical qualification in the framework of implemented Czech projects as very beneficial and effective and their realiazation should continue at SAUM.

Inflation persistence in new EU member states: Is it different than in the euro area members?
Franta, Michal ; Saxa, Branislav ; Šmídková, Kateřina
Writors of this paper confirm that one should work carefully with the usual estimation methods when analyzing the NMS, given the scope of the convergence process they went through. They show that due to frequent breaks in inflation time series in the NMS, parametric statistical measures assuming a constant mean deliver substantially higher persistence estimates for the NMS than for the euro area countries.

Some exchange rates are more stable than others: short-run evidence from transition countries
Bulíř, Aleš
The paper investigates empirically the endogenous liquidity nexus of exchange rate determination on a sample of four transition economies. It finds evidence in favor of the hypothesis of a nonlinear error correction process vis-à-vis longer-term trend deviations. The results suggest that early and successful exchange-rate market and financial-account liberalization pays off in terms of depth of the market and, hence, faster adjustment of national currencies to short-term shocks to the exchange rate.

Cooperation with clients´ families in the Retirement Home Třebíč during the period of adaptation process
DOLEČKOVÁ, Olga
In the Bachelor´s Thesis I devote my attention to the issues concerning adaptation process of a senior starting in a long - stay social service - the Retirement Home Třebíč - in connection with cooperation with family members. The issues regarding old age, the elderly in need of help from others, are becoming more and more important in today´s society. This fact is closely linked with the increase in human life span. In the theoretical part I defined the terms: old age, age division, and the changes that take place in this inherent developmental stage of life. In addition, I dealt with the active process of adaptation to novel living conditions, and the symptoms of maladaptation. In the following chapter I described a family, its functions in today?s society, and the family relationships. I defined social protection and social services set in the legislative frame, as well as problems regarding registration of social services. I described the Retirement Home Třebíč, where the research took place, and the process of individual planning, whose component user´s adaptation is. The way in which adaptation takes place, how often and the manner in which family members cooperate with a senior and the staff of the organization is very important during this period. I devoted the research part of my Bachelor´s thesis to this particular area. In order to describe the cooperation I used qualitative research with the method of questioning, the technique of a semi-structured interview. There were eight respondents; family members, instructors of social services, and key workers, participating in the research. The results confirmed that a family´s cooperation proves to be a key area when looking into adaptation in a retirement home. If a family does not cooperate or in case of a lonely senior, this role is to be supplemented by staff of the retirement home. It is up to them whether they can eliminate the potential impact of social maladaptation on the senior. The results of the research confirmed that it is important to support cooperation between families and the users of social service, so that a life in a retirement home resembles the one in a natural environment before their arrival as much as possible.

Monitoring and Evaluation of Provided Services in a Social Sphere Institution in České Budějovice
GRÓFOVÁ, Zuzana
Many changes have taken place in the area of social services in the recent years, one of them being a bigger emphasis on the effectiveness of their provision. That is connected with higher involvement of economists and managers in this sphere of specific services. My thesis aims to fathom the processes related to the monitoring and evaluation of the social services in České Budějovice from the sides of the authorities and the providers. I chose this topic as a result of my interest in the ways both sides deal with this task and whether there could not be some room for improvement. I am convinced these procedures are important for the town´s inhabitants, as ensuring sufficient social services and their quality can become quite essential for them all of as sudden.
