HORMONAL CONTRACEPTION - USERS̕ KNOWLEDGE Student: Křiklánová, J. Tutor: Marešová, H. Department of Social and Clinical Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové, Charles University, Czech Republic Introduction: Hormonal contraception is a broadly used and very reliable birth control method. Nonetheless, it is not entirely risk-free. This thesis deals with the awareness of those risks in women who are currently using hormonal contraception or have ever used it before. Aim of the thesis: The main aim was to determine the extent of the users' awareness of hormonal contraception and its risks, undesirable side effects and contraindications, as well as their source of information. Furthermore, the awareness of the environmental impact, the reasons for using hormonal contraception and user satisfaction were examined. Methodology: The research was carried out by means of online questionnaires, which were spread among current or former users of hormonal contraception regardless of age, educational background or place of residence. 148 completed questionnaires were gathered and the data which were obtained were statistically evaluated. Results: It was discovered that women feel informed (25 %) or rather informed (44,6 %) more often than uninformed; the most frequent source of information is patient...

Evaluation of health risks lifestyles of older school age children.
DOPITOVÁ, Pavla
This thesis is concerned with assessment of the health risks of lifestyle of basic school children. The topic of the healthy nutrition, the healthy lifestyle and the healthy eating habits has been more and more popular. The healthy eating habits influence the whole human life and the term health has to be understood as a constant value that we have to protect and develop. Nutrition of children and youth is one of the most pronounced matter nowadays all over the world. First part of the thesis is focused on the lifestyle of basic school children, it´s parts and results too (especially the part about nutrition). Then it is focused on work of pediatric´s nurse who takes care about them. In my thesis I found two goals: to assess the specific lifestyle risks of basic school children and to find if basic school children keep the rules of healthy eating. Based on these goals four hypotheses were set: the H1 - Children eat more fruit than vegetables. H2 - Children drink sweet drinks more than water. H3 - Children don´t keep healthy eating habits. H4 - Children prefer fast-food meals to school meals. The hypotheses number H1, H3 and H4 were accepted. The H2 wasn´t accepted because the statistic showed that children drink more water than sweet drinks. The quantitative research was done to reach the goals and confirm the hypotheses via anonymous questionnaire for children from 13-15 years old. This research was given to approximately 310 pupils of primary school. The results were put into charts and tables and statistically assessed with Pearson chi square test. The results of research of my thesis were used for a booklet about healthy eating habits for children and their parents. The material should be ready for use for pediatric´s nurses who work for general practitioner for children and adolescents. The brochure can serve for gaining more information about healthy nutrition.
Mercury content in muscle of chub (\kur{Leuciscus cephalus}) from the downstream tributaries of the Elbe river
KOLEK, Bohuslav
Mercury content in muscle of chub (Leuciscus cephalus) from the downstream tributaries of the Elbe river. The aim of the present study was to investigate the concentration of total mercury in muscle of 141 chub (Leuciscus cephalus) from seven Czech rivers (Vltava, Berounka, Sázava, Ohře, Otava, Lužnice, Labe) and to evaluate the potential risk of eating fish from the rivers. Total mercury values results from 2011 were compared with 2010. Mercury was determined by means of cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometry using AMA-254. The highest mean concentrations of total mercury were found in the Otava-Topělec (0,240 +- 0,106 mg/kg) for year 2010 and Labe-Obříství (0,222 +- 0,102 mg/kg) for year 2011. The lowest mean concentrations of total mercury were found in the chub from the Berounka-Beroun for both years (0,053 +- 0,013 mg/kg and 0,064 +- 0,010, respectively). The fish intake hazard index calculated were between 0,1 and 0,4 for the individual tributaries monitored. The results of this study show that hygienic limit for fish product (0,5mg.kg-1) was exceeded in Otava-Topělec (0,59mg.kg-1).
The Health Risks Analysis in the Workplace of Stone Quarries, Measure and Evaluation
STODOLOVSKÁ, Květa
The purpose of this thesis was to evaluate the work environment of quarries. Four research questions were asked: What factors can be determined in the working environment of quarries? Are hygienic limits of the monitored factors in the work environment of quarries respected? What measures to protect the health of workers in the quarries are applied by the employers? Are the proposed measures to protect employees' health effective? The bachelor thesis was conducted as qualitative research. Conditions in two quarries in the South Bohemian Region were studied. For data collection, the technique of direct, disinterested and obvious observation, the study of professional literature, legislation, trial protocols and the findings obtained from interviews with managers were used. The data were processed by content analysis. In the theoretical part, I focused on individual risk factors in the work environment of quarries and on health risk assessment. In the practical part, I compared the measurement results with the health limits set out in Government Regulation No. 361/2007 Coll. laying down the conditions of health protection in the workplace, as amended, and in Government Regulation No. 272/2011 Coll. that lays down hygienic limits of noise and vibration. Individual professions were categorized according to Decree No. 432/2003 Coll., as amended. The factors assessed in the work environment of quarries were quarry dust, total and hand-transmitted vibrations, noise and physical strain. The lowest rated factors include dust and total vibrations. Hygienic limits were not always observed, and thus the employer is obliged to take measures to protect the health of employees. The most important step in the development of quarries is the purchase of new, modern machines and the overall modernization of production, resulting in reduction of the workers´ exposure to risk factors.
