The influence of the bioclimatological factors and processes on the current status of the organism
FILIPOVÁ, Kateřina
The diploma thesis outlines bioclimatological factors that influence the current state of the organism, health problems related to those factors, and biorhythms that have a crucial impact on the organism. The empirical part of the thesis presents the outcomes of a research realised in a form of a questionnaire that examined the sensitivity of human organism in relation to the weather.
Antioxidační látky v medu a jejich vliv na zdraví člověka
Suchánek, Pavel
This bachelor theisis present whitch antioxidantion substances. Antioxidants are substances that are chasing free radikals ain the body in convert them to less reactive or non reactive forms. Work summarizes information about the use of honey as a source of antioxidants in human nutrition. In work is provided an overview of antioxidants and their role in the human organism. The bachelor work also deals with the other effects of honey on human health and the preservation of its allergenic properties. Further described herein are the properties of pollen, propolis and its use in food industry.
Metabolický profil biologicky významných látek v medu
Ošťádalová, Ilona
This thesis is introducing us theme of the metabolic profile of biologically important compounds in honey. This thesis is devided into two parts. The first part (the literature review) is introducing characteristic of honey, history of a use for medical purposes, honey content, content of biologically active compounds and their positive effects on human health. There are also described methods of determination polyfenolic compounds in honey. The second part of this thesis (practical part) deals with determination of polyfenols in 11 kinds of honey using the high pressure liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS). Extraction was carried out by using liquid-liguid extraction using ethylacetate and diethylether as a solvent and solid phase extraction using water as a solvent. These methods were then statistically compared.
Význam vitamínů na zdraví člověka
Bakhareva, Natalya
This bachelor thesis focuses on an overview of individual vitamins and their significance for human health. Vitamins are vital for the body's metabolism and for the proper functioning of all organs, tissues and systems in the human body. The work mainly affects their significant impact on the human body, the problem of complete absence, deficiency and overabundance of vitamins, which leads to disruption of some of the most important functions of the human body and contributes to the development of diseases that sometimes can be fatal. The data on the person's daily requirement for vitamins has been elaborated to avoid the risk of diseases, as well as what products can provide the body with them, how to cook and consume food, in order not to lose those precious sources of life, they contain. This work explains chemical structure, physiology and properties of vitamins, for better understanding the world of them.
The current health risks due to changing global bioclimatological conditions
STEIGEROVÁ, Michaela
This diploma thesis focuses on influences that arise from changes in global bioclimatic conditions and further affect human health and health. The most common in the literature bioclimatic factors affecting human health are the sun radiation, air temperature, precipitation, snow, wind and soil temperature. In most cases, one agent does not act alone but together with others. The work deals not only with health risks as a result of global changes at present, it also gives examples from the past and the forecast of the global climate of our planet in the near future.
Biologically active substances of medicinal plants within selected families (Rosaceae, Lamiaceae and Asteraceae)
Čápová, Klára ; Vodičková, Hana (advisor) ; Zelený, Václav (referee)
For ages plants have not only been used as a source of food but also to prevent or treat various diseases. Their healing effects are provided by biologically active substances, especially the products of secondary metabolism. Primary metabolites, such as carbohydrates, lipids and proteins, are particularly important from the nutritive point of view. They are an essential part of our diet. The same level of importance also applies to vitamins that serve as catalysts in a great number of metabolic reactions. The aim of this thesis was to describe biologically active substances found in medicinal plants of the Rosaceae, Lamiaceae and Asteraceae families and to summarize their effects on human health. These families include many species of plants that have demonstrated positive effects on human health. The effects are mainly attributed to phenolic compounds, most of which are represented by flavonoids, phenolic acids and tannins. Furthermore, essential oils and vitamin C also have a positive impact on our health. Medicinal plants from the previously mentioned families often have astringent, spasmolytic and antimicrobial properties, for which they owe to phenolic compounds, especially tannins, flavonoids and phenolic acids. Due to the content of essential oils and their spasmolytic effects they counteract cramps and diarrhoea, increase the production and secretion of bile and also have antimicrobial effects. Plants that contain vitamin C, an important antioxidant, can boost our immunity in general. Another aim of this work was to define external factors that can influence the content and the metabolism of biologically active substances. Considering climatic conditions we have to mention temperature and light, which primarily influence the content of essential oils. Other factors could be soil composition, methods of cultivation, harvesting and post-harvest processing. During the process of drying there comes the loss of essential oils and vitamin C. The integral part of this thesis was also to create an overview of selected medicinal plants of the Rosaceae, Lamiaceae and Asteraceae families, thein plant-based drugs, biologically active substances and their effects on human health.
Vliv antioxidantů na zdraví člověka
Hoferková, Adéla
Lately, antioxidants are getting attention in connection with the nutrition and people's health and are interesting for food and health professionals. They are particularly important for the prevention of starting and against causes from free radicals. If the free radicals accumulates in one's body, it leads to worsening human's health condition. In the form of research, this thesis explain natural and synthetic antioxidants. It mainly deals with the characteristics and effects on human health. The first part describes the free radicals, the possibility of monitoring them and diseases caused by free radicals. In the further part of this work, we can find the distribution of natural antioxidants, where the vitamins are divided, trace elements, carotenoids, phenolic antioxidants, ginkgo biloba etc. Among the synthetic antioxidants are included BHA, BHT, TBHQ, gallates and fumaric acid.
Biologicky aktivní látky v medu
Ošťádalová, Ilona
This thesis is introducing us a theme of "Biologically active compounds in honey". The first part is introducing characteristic of honey, mostly types not only domestic, but also from abroad and their spesifics. As next, the reader is shortly breefed about history of a use of honey for medical purposes such as skin treatments, inflammations, cancer and other diseases. At the end of this chapter there is a honey content described. Next chapter is explaining a term of biologically active compounds, describing some of them, their amount and comparing these amounts to others coming from different groceries. Also there is spoken about their positive influence on human health and methods of their laboratory determination.
