The thesis deals with the design and review of the supporting structure of the exhibition pavilion in the suburb of Brno. The design is shaped dome built over the octagonal floor plan with eight lateral niches. The pavilion is 30m wide and 8 meters tall.
Reinforced concrete construction of cooling tower
Zralý, Tomáš ; Buřič, Pavel (referee) ; Šulák, Pavel (advisor)
There was solved reinforced concrete cooling tower in the diploma thesis. This is a rotationally symmetrical construction. The cooling tower is concrete shell on columns. The cooling tower was solved using the finite element method, computer program Midas FEA. The work includes: calculation using the program Midas FEA, comparison of load between eurocode and foreign literature, the design of shell and columns, drawings form
Lookout tower
Jedzoková, Patricie ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Balázs, Ivan (advisor)
The object of the diploma thesis is design and assessment of a steel lookout tower situated in Beskydy mountains. Two different variants were designed. The first variant is of square shaped plan and the second one is of hexagonal shaped plan. Both variants are spatial truss structures. They are shaped as hourglass. The variants were compared and the first one was chosen to be further developed. The lookout tower is 36 meters high and it is divided by floors. One floor is 3,6 meters high. The widest section is 8 meters, the narrowest section is 5 meters wide. The structure is pin-supported into concrete foundation. The concrete is class C25/30. The roof covering is made of trapezoidal sheet of class S280GD. Each steel element is made of steel of class S355.
Roofing of Athletic Hall
Potůčková, Simona ; Melcher, Jindřich (referee) ; Karmazínová, Marcela (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is a design of two versions of bearing roof construction of the athletic stadium in Brno and a smaller side roofing of changing rooms. The building has rectangular plan of dimension 67 x 102 m and the side construction has also rectangular plan of dimension 61x 8 m. The minimum height is given by requirements of various athletic sports. Material used for the main construction is steel strength class S355 and for the side construction it is steel strength class S235. All the calculations are according to valid norms ČSN EN.
Watchtower in Brno Kohoutovice
Komárek, Ondřej ; Bajer, Miroslav (referee) ; Barnat, Jan (advisor)
The main aim of my master´s thesis was to design a load-bearing steel structure of the lookout tower situated in Brno-Kohoutovice. The height of the load-bearing structure is 35.5 m. My design comprises two different engineering solutions. Solution A is a lattice space frame whereas Solution B works with continuous columns with vertical bracing. For further development, Solution A has been chosen. The proposed structural material is the S355 steel. My thesis includes an engineering report, a statics analysis and drawing documentation.
Winter Stadium in Olomouc
Tomčíková, Lucie ; Melcher, Jindřich (referee) ; Karmazínová, Marcela (advisor)
The content of the bachelor thesis is static verification and the desing of two options of a roofing of the winter stadium in Olomouc. The object has a rectangular plan of dimension 68 x 100 m, the minimum clearance is given by requirements of the operation of winter sports. Steel construction is made of steel strength class S355. The calculations are made according to valid norms ČSN EN.
Steel Structure of Observation Tower
Virág, Patrik ; Pilgr, Milan (referee) ; Hron, Lukáš (advisor)
The subject of the diploma thesis is design and structural analysis of loadbearing steel structure of observation tower, which is located southeast of Černá Hora, township Blansko. The design is processed in two options. Parts of the thesis are engineering report, structural design report for both of the options and graphical documentation in specified range. The structure’s height is 25.3 m and maximal ground plan dimension is 6 x 6 m. Steel grade S355 was chosen as main material. The sub-objectives of the structural analysis are load effects calculations (permanent load, imposed load and climatic load), entering of loads to the calculation model and calculation of internal forces and deformations. An assessment of the supporting elements and selected joints is also included. There are dynamic design features considered in the calculation. All calculations were performed in accordance with valid ČSN EN standards.
The Multipurpose House in České Budějovice
Špačková, Eva ; Pilgr, Milan (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The subject of this thesis is the design and assessment of the supporting structure multifunctional building in the Czech Budejovice . The construction of a sphere with a maximum diameter of 30 m and a height of 19.5 meters the highest point . The supporting structure consists of curved ribs , elevator shaft and ceiling beams . The structure is designed in 4 versions . Two variants are made of steel, the third option is wooden and the latest version solves a combination of wood and steel. In the variant selected is done loading , ultimate limit state, serviceability limit state , fire resistance and compounds selected details.
Numerical modeling of wind load on photovoltaic panels
Zajac, Zbyněk ; Vlk, Zbyněk (referee) ; Martinásek, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with wind loading on photovoltaic panels installed on a flat roof. Numerical calculation was made for a fictitious building. Photovoltaic array was installed according to the general principles. Wind load on the array was applied in different directions in order to calculate the highest value in the area. Calculation and interpretation of results were done in ANSYS. Results were compared with coefficients given in the Dutch standard NEN 7250. This standard is not part of European standard.
Timber structure of a view tower in southeast Moravia
Vrbka, Jan ; Straka, Bohumil (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
he master’s thesis consists of a case study of an observation tower design made of glue laminated timber and steel. There are two different tower shapes of anchored or free standing tower and these towers are compared. One of the design is chosen and elaborated into final detailing. A short review of main issues bound with the observation towers is given. The review deals mainly with loading (mainly priniples wind loads are analised) and evaluating of towers (ultimate limit states, service limit states and acceleration comfort). The height of final construction is up to 60m. The design is formed by a space lattice structure made of glue laminated timber and steel members of different class. The members are fastened mainly by means of dowel joints with slotted-in-plates . There is a light steel stairway inserted into the main structure.
