Monitoring of dear contamination by organohalogen compounds based xenobiotics
Doušová, Petra ; Stoupalová, Michaela (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
Various animal or vegetable origin bio-indicators are used for the assessment of the environmental contamination. The wild animals were chosen for monitoring of xenobiotic based organohalogen compounds. The district health facility staff collected the samples of wild boars in the territory of Central Bohemia. The controlled substances were isolated from the matrix by an extraction. The extraction was made by a petrolether and then it was purified by a column chromatography. A final cleansing of the extract was made by an acid hydrolysis. The determination of the selected analytes was finished by the method of gas chromatography with an electron capture detector. The results gave us basic information about the wild boar contamination of organohalogen pollutants.
Structural aspects of interaction between humic substances and charged organic xenobiotics
Prisažný, Adam ; Smilek, Jiří (referee) ; Sedláček, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis was focused on studying the interaction of humic substances with ionic organic xenobiotics and its structural aspects. The method was chosen from my bachelor thesis, steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy, which is suitable for substances with weak fluorescence. The results showed that the interaction between humic acids and representatives of ionic organic xenobiotics (Septonex) was reflected in fluorescence quenching of humic acids and the shift of emission maximum to lower wavelength, hypsochromic (blue) shift. From the measurement results, we can assume that the interaction that is formed between the aromatic structures in humic acids and Septonex could be -cation interaction.
The evaluation of findings of PCBs in bioindicators of animal origin - fish
Doušová, Petra ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (referee) ; Vávrová, Milada (advisor)
The baccalaureate theoretical thesis resolved the issues of use of fish as bioindicators to determine the level of ecosystem pollution. Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) were selected as a xenobiotic; it still belongs among the priority organic pollutants. The part of thesis is dedicated to physical and chemical toxicological and environmental characteristics of these organic pollutants. Its use in CR in the past was also mentioned, as well as manner of its application in industry, evaluation of its distribution and toxicological effect of individual groups of congeners PCB. Based on the contamination level of fish the evaluation of the water ecosystem was performed, which was compared to data published in Slovakia.
Bioindicators - their role in the evaluation of environment
Winklerová, Lucie ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Zlámalová Gargošová, Helena (advisor)
This thesis deals with the use of plant and animal bioindicators in an evaluation of the state of the environment. Bioindicators are divided in this work according to ecosystem for which they are used into bio indicators of terrestrial and of water ecosystem. Furthermore, they are divided according to groups of analytes, which are indicated by means of them. In the work the attention is paid to selected elements of risk, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and polychlorinated biphenyls. The presence of these xenobiotics in the environment is particularly influenced by human activities. First of all individual industrial and automobile transports are permanent sources of contamination of the ecosystem with these xenobiotics. Considerable influence on the ecosystem pollution with organic and inorganic contaminants had also an injudicious application of certain fertilizers in agricultural production. The importance of bioindication and bioindicators is big. They help us not only assess the presence of xenobiotic in the environment, the development of its occurrence and sources of pollution, but they are also necessary in the evaluation of its biological effect, and responses and mechanisms of the organism which are induced by it. Biomonitoring is now an essential part of environmental protection by reason of monitoring the presence and the transport of contaminants.
