Secondary School Teachers' workload and their coping with it

Teaching is among the professions with the highest risk of occupational burnout. Even though this issue was described and discussed in detail many times before, no effective solution has been found so far. In my bachelor thesis, I will focus on the work load of high school teachers and how to cope with it. In the theoretical part I will explain basic terms such as work load, stress, occupational burnout and stress prevention. In the practical part I will analyze the level of work load on Secondary Technical School in Klatovy. I will also describe methods used to cope with the stress.
Teachers: burnout syndrom versus engagement and professional enthusiasm

The thesis is dealing with the problematics of burnout syndrome and engagement in teaching profession in different types of schools and grades. Its objective is to detect the degree of burnout in a selected sample of teachers and map the main determinants of contentment related to engaged teachers. The theoretical part defines the concept of burnout syndrome, its development, progress, signs, causes and diagnostics. It clarifies the development of burnout in teaching profession. Furthermore, it describes the key characteristics of engagement, the diagnostic methods and the relationship between teaching and engagement. The empiric part has two goals: to find out the degree of burnout in teachers and depict the essential factors which contribute to their engagement. The research was based on questionnaires and interviews and answered the research questions. The results are presented in tables and graphs. In conclusion, there are some suggestions how to lower the risk of genesis and growth of burnout syndrome. Perception of Workload and Satisfaction of Workers in the Social Sphere

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the perception of workload and working satisfaction of workers in the social sphere. The aim of the work is to compare the workload of the social worker, which mainly deals with the administration and the worker in the social services, which moves in the field and further find out what affects the employment satisfaction of social workers as much as possible. This bachelor thesis is divided into two parts, namely the theoretical and practical part. The first theoretical part contains three main chapters. The first chapter deals with workers in the social sphere and their definition, describes workers who move in the social sphere and contains supporting documents for the pursuit of their profession and also the ethical codes of individual workers. The next chapter is the workload, which includes the definition of stress, stressors, the main causes of stress, the response to stress and also the management of burdens. The last chapter of the theoretical part is devoted mainly to Maslow's theory of motivation and the need for self-realization. There is a description of working satisfaction, theory of work satisfaction and factors influencing work satisfaction. In practical part, qualitative research was used and through structured interviews with inquiry. The information on workload and worker satisfaction was identified by social workers. Research has been able to identify what social workers consider to be a workload and as much as possible affect their job satisfaction. My work has shown whether social workers have any training opportunities in the area of workload management.
Perception of Workload and Job Satisfaction among Social Workers.

The bachelor thesis is focused on the perception of workload and satisfaction of social workers. Furthermore, it deals with work and psychological stress of social workers, on its compensation and sustainable motivational component of this profession. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part there is a more detailed description of the profession of social worker defined by Act No. 108/2006 Coll., about social services and related basic terms. There are also areas focused on work and mental stress, burnout syndrome, motivation and remuneration of social workers and related satisfaction. Last but not least, there is an area focused on coping with and preventing mental stress and workload. The qualitative research method was chosen to prepare the practical part of the thesis. The data were organized using a semi-structured interview with ten social workers of various organizations in the Czech Republic. The main aim of the analytical part of is to emphasize the work and mental stress of social workers and to find out what influence it has on their professional and private life. The research questions were mainly focused on motivation and rewarding of social workers, perception of specific stressors and workloads, but also on the influence of social, family sphere, and above all on the work team. Following the interviews, it was possible to point out the current perception of the performance of the social worker's profession. This thesis could be beneficial for students of Social Work as an insight into the current perception of a social worker's profession from a real and practical perspective. The result of this bachelor thesis can also provide insight into the current state of work and mental stress of social workers and point out the possible optimization of the prevention of psychological problems associated with the performance of this profession.

TITLE The Burnout Syndrome in Teachers' Work ABSTRACT The burnout syndrome represents a serious problem affecting the quality of the life of the stricken persons as well as their efficiency. The notion burnout is defined here. This bachelor thesis specifies the main theoretical sources of burnout, the evolution and the formation of its characteristics. It brings the summary of the circumstances which can facilitate or limit the origin and development of burnout. The burnout syndrome affects members of helping professions mainly. The concept of the helping professions is defined here. The teaching profession is one of the helping professions. The teaching profession is one of the demanding professions. There are the various influences disturbing the work of teachers which affect the overall personal performance and professional satisfaction. This bachelor thesis reports physical and psychical load in teacher work. Situations that can be the source of the emotional exhaustion for teachers are mentioned. The causes of the burnout syndrome, the symptomatology and some of its negative consequences considering the teaching profession are described.
