Circumstances of finding and comparison of health care for different bird and mammal taxa at a rescue station

This thesis is focused on the Wildlife Rescue Station Makov (county Písek). The thesis presents an overview to the rescue station activities during the observation period 2016-2022. The practical part is dedicated to the analyses concerning the birds and mammals admitted to the rescue station. The analyses stand out from the individual reasons for admission, the success of treatment, the time of care for each order and the impact of whether the animals thrive more when they are singly or in a group. The thesis also introduces the National Rescue Network, its activities, history and funding, and the environmental education of the stations. The thesis is enriched by some of the reasons for intake, which include injuries caused e.g. by power lines, traffic or in any way disadvantaged animal (e.g. injury).

9 Legal regulation of wild animals in human care Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the legal regulation of wild animals in human care. It outlines the related terminology, legal resources and individual legal provisions that are relevant to the topic of this diploma thesis. It also defines specific ways of the treatment of wild animals, the possibilities of their acquisition into human care and breeding. The diploma thesis in detail analyzes selected entities that breed wild animals. That means rescue stations (specifically their care for handicapped animals), zoos, circuses (namely their training of animals), as well as entities that experiment on animals. For chosen entities, it deals primarily with their obligations under the wild animals legislation. The last part then deals with the issue of liability in relation to wild animals. In the context of civil liability, it means both damage caused by the animal and damage caused to the animal itself. The diploma thesis also deals with administrative offenses based on the Act on the Protection of Animals Against Cruelty and the Act on the Conservation of Nature and Landscape, as well as penalties that can be imposed under these acts. The diploma thesis deals with the legal regulation of the treatment with wild animals. It compares different terms used in legal regulation of protection of animals. It specified differences between concept of an animal in private law and public law. The diploma thesis is focused on possibilities of gaining ownership to the wild animals, proving origin of animals bred in human care. It concerns with legal regulation of treatment with handicap animals. The diploma thesis analyzes preparation and realization of Action and Management Plans and is also concerned about protection of wild animals against cruelty.

Biodiversity protection in the Czech Republic

This bachelor thesis deals with an actual topic of animal and vegetal species extinction. It defines the term of biodiversity, discusses reasons why the diversity should be protected, what are its threats and how the diversity can be protected (obligatorily by law). There is introduced an overview of legislation for protection of biodiversity in the Czech Republic, specifically international treats adopted by the Czech Republic and laws. There are introduced changes which came about in context of entrance in European Union, mainly in law no. 114/1992 Sb., about protection of nature and country. The aim is to give an overview of the legislation which has been adopted in the Czech Republic to protect biodiversity because legal regulations are the only chance to bring moral sense of the Czechs to protect nature into reality.
