Lacinová, Martina ; Horynová, Jana (advisor) ; Klenková, Jiřina (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of active and passive vocabulary in children aged 2-3 years. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on defining speech development in children, describing in detail the development and evaluation of vocabulary in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and abroad. Additionally, selected categories of impaired communication ability specific to this age group are described, more specifically, developmental dysphasia and delayed speech development. The main goal of the thesis is to test and evaluate the active and passive vocabulary of children at two to three years. The research is of a quantitative nature and presents the results of testing that was conducted using a newly created test of active and passive vocabulary for children at two to three years.
Peripheral Units of the Old Czech Lexical System: Retreating Units
Nejedlý, Petr ; Kučera, Karel (advisor) ; Pleskalová, Jana (referee) ; Komárek, Karel (referee)
Petr Nejedlý: Peripheral Units of the Old Czech Lexical System: Retreating Units (abstract of the thesis) The thesis deals with Old Czech lexical units retreating from the centre to periphery of the lexical system. It examines prerequisites of the process, i.e. loss of systemic relations of the lexical unit, and describes its individual forms (the extinction of a lexical unit in the last resort). The work submits an overview of both (intra)linguistic and extra-linguistic factors which are based on development of the lexical unit and influence its retreat to the periphery. Attention is paid to systemic changes in the language which modify internal relationships within the lexical system and also lead to the loss of central position of some lexical units.
The Language of Novels for Girls by Lenka Lanczová
Szyszkowiczová, Markéta ; Mareš, Petr (advisor) ; Synková, Pavlína (referee)
The thesis is focused on linguistic analysis of selected novels for girls by Lenka Lanczová (Znamení Blíženců, Kam se vytrácí láska, Potížistka, Dvakrát dospělá). Its aim is to analyse all language levels of examined texts and, above all, to refer to symptomatic linguistic devices, which are used in them. Furthermore, the novels are compared one to each other to point out possible development of author's language. Finally, the focus is given to the differences and similarities with the earlier production of novels for girls. The base of explanations is represented by literary research of novels for girls, especially the findings from Dagmar Mocná and Svatava Urbanová, and also by existing linguistic analysis of their language (the publication Prostor pro jazyk a styl by Oldřich Uličný and Jan Horák).
