Japanese Character Description
Holáň, Jakub ; Zámečníková, Eva (referee) ; Horáček, Petr (advisor)
The Japanese language has from historical reasons a very complicated orthographical system based on more interconnected alphabets where the characters can be logograms (characters representing whole words) as well as phonograms (characters representing single sounds or syllables of a language). When searching or compiling a japanese dictionary various nontrivial methods of sorting these characters have to be used, e.g. sorting them by number of strokes or by radicals (basic building elements of a character). The aim of this thesis is to find an ideal database structure to accurately describe japanese characters and relationships between them. For good measure, a demonstration application has been developed, which can be used as a learning and revision tool for japanese students. The application is intended for internet use and it has been put together using the most up to date web technologies, such as Google Web Toolkit and Java servlets.
Educational Apps in Grammar School Biology
Fousková, Karolína ; Novotný, Petr (advisor) ; Bartáček, Tomáš (referee)
The rapid development of digital technologies is also influencing our view of what the content of education should be and what methods should be used to deliver it. The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of educational applications in the context of teaching biology. The thesis analyses three types of educational applications that are most specific or potentially beneficial for biology - visualisation, virtual laboratories and interactive textbooks. These types of applications are united by their ability to combine attractiveness to fun with didactic content, thanks to which they can positively influence the learning process of the student. For a broader context, the paper also includes a look at the positives and negatives of digital technologies that can be used for teaching. Despite their many advantages, such as rapid feedback, interactivity, collaboration or individualisation, technologies can cause severe health or psychological problems. These effects can be prevented by correct body positioning during use or parental control. The thesis also addresses the question of what expectations are placed on educational applications and technologies. One of the biggest expectations is the motivation of students for the subject. As biology can be more difficult for some students to understand,...
Mobile Application for Easy Online School Education and Communication with Students
Otáhal, Lukáš ; Vlnas, Michal (referee) ; Chlubna, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the work is to create a supporting mobile application for students and teachers, enhanced with capabilities that are not yet available in existing school applications on the market. There will be 2 views in the app according to the login. A view for the student and a view for the teacher. The app is designed with an emphasis on simplicity and user friendliness. The app offers options such as writing and grading tests, viewing study materials, assigning or viewing assignments, viewing school news or school events, schedule overview, class overview and detailed student information with classification. The new school app is built using the Jigx platform and the data is stored in an AzureSQL database.

Interactive application for teaching the topic of the Earth as a planet
Černík, Václav ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Houfková, Jitka (referee)
Interactive application for teaching the topic of the Earth as a planet Abstract The thesis is focused on the creation of an interactive application for teaching the topic of the Earth as a planet at secondary schools. The theoretical part generally deals with digital technologies for teaching, educational applications and pedagogical-psychological aspects of the subject. The topic was defined and analyzed using curriculum documents, textbooks and school atlases. Based on the analysis, partial topics were selected and turned into an application that covers separate learning objects. 8 learning objects were created ("Distances and dimensions", "Earth's orbit", "Seasons", "Solar time", "Moon phases", "Solar and Lunar eclipses", "Orbiting around the barycenter", "Tidal phenomena") and 4 learning objects were taken ("Solar System", "Earth's shape - geoid", "Time zones", "Future eclipses"). Each learning object has been provided with its theoretical introduction and methodological questions and tasks. The final educational application will be available on the Internet as a web application, without the need for installation. Keywords: educational application, interactivity, teaching Geography, the Solar System, the Earth, the Moon
