Designing Methodology for Effective Testing and Evaluating User Experience of Small Web Applications
Novák, Ondřej ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Šedivá, Zuzana (referee)
The main objective of this diploma thesis is to design an efficient methodology for testing and evaluating user experience of smaller web applications. The proposed methodology is based on understanding the issues of user experience testing of small projects, exploring the principles of current methodologies and analysis methods for testing and evaluating user experience. Based on the analysis, appropriate methods are selected and the methodology is assembled. Part of this thesis is verifying the methodology on a real project in practice in order to reveal its potential shortcomings. This thesis is composed of two parts. The first, theoretical part includes analysis of user experience issues and its testing, description of the methodology principles and the analysis of methods themselves. The second part includes the designed methodology and its verification in practice. Proposed methodology should be beneficial for small development teams or companies that have a need for testing the user experience, but do not have enough resources to develop their own methodology or purchase the methodology developed by another company. In practice, I was not able to find freely available methodology for testing the user experience, which would also be designed specifically for small projects.
Optimizing the recruitment process applicants for consumer credit - case Study
Moudrý, Vojtěch ; Říhová, Zora (advisor) ; Střížová, Vlasta (referee)
This thesis is focused on analyzing the process of an online request for a consumer loan. In the theoretical part, the thesis covers issues of consumer loans and explains topics from user testing and usability. It also describes methodology of the research. The practical part of this thesis is centered around a general simulation model, which was created based on the previous analysis. With this model and using selected methods the thesis identifies critical points common to most tested participants. Based on the results of the user testing, recommendations are made to resolve these issues. The general model was modified according to the validity of these recommendations and then subjected to re-testing. This thesis is unique for the use of an eye-tracking camera among other methods.
Creating a user-friendly website (UX)
Knopp, Filip ; Borovcová, Anna (advisor) ; Buchalcevová, Alena (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the process of creating user-friendly websites. Thesis is not directly engaged with questions concerning the technology behind it, but instead focuses on the process of designing a website that will meet both the needs of users as well as business requirements. A website based and designed on such concept will be easily understandable for users, and will be regarded as usable and useful. It will effectively enable users to fulfill their individual aims and provide them with a positive User Experience (UX). Along with the placing of this procedure within a specific context, an area of User Experience is defined, and consequently related disciplines that fundamentally affect and shape the UX. A scheme of this procedure of creating user-friendly websites as put in practice is shown at the end of this thesis: a case study on redesigning the company website VINICARS Ltd.
The web analysis and design methodology MANW
Karlec, Jakub ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Kafka, Daniel (referee)
The main subject of this thesis is to prepare the web analysis and design methodology, MANW. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the definition of the methodological framework on the basis of which the methodology will be built. The framework comes out from the methodological framework MEFIS which has been accustomed to comply with specific needs of the web application and websites development. The second part of the thesis is dedicated to the research of existing methodologies for web project implementation. Based on the research, the elements of the methodologies suitable for analysis and design are selected and then incorporated into the MANW methodology. The last part of the thesis is the description of the methodology itself and description of its characteristics and elements. The goal of the diploma thesis is to prepare a simple methodology for websites and web applications analysis and design which can be used in agile web development. The methodology is described by its phases, processes, roles, inputs and outputs and other elements which are defined in the elaborated methodological framework. The output of methodology processes are the data for implementation, deployment and operation of web solutions. It was necessary to define the term methodology and define a methodological framework first in order to work out the methodology itself successfully. Another starting point for methodology design was the research of existing methodologies which also serves as an introduction to the problems of web projects implementation and provides an overview of existing tools. Output of the thesis is the MANW methodology which is a synthesis of the working experience and of a methodological framework theory. This methodology is easily modifiable and thanks to the clear process definition it can provide the companies with an effective solution of web products analysis and design.
