Use of geography textbook tasks in the development of pupils' map skills in lower secondary education
Nedbalová, Amálie ; Hanus, Martin (advisor) ; Havelková, Lenka (referee)
This bachelor's thesis examines textbook tasks designed for the development of map skills. The purpose of the thesis is to determine whether, how often, and in what manner are Geography textbooks and textbook tasks utilized by teachers for the development of map skills in pupils in lower secondary education. The thesis also analyses teachers' assessment of the way textbooks and textbook tasks aimed at map skills are designed. The theoretical basis of the thesis explains the role and function of textbooks within teaching. The current state of Czech research on textbooks is introduced along with prospects for its further development. This is followed by the defining of what didactic textbook tasks are and what their purpose is. The thesis also addresses the determination of specific types of map skills (reading, analysis, interpretation, mapmaking) and gives a description of "models of map skills". Furthermore, it is explained how Geography textbooks can contribute to the development of map skills. In the subsequent part of the thesis, the findings of a questionnaire survey are presented. The results indicate that the majority of teachers actively use textbooks not only in lesson preparation but also in lessons as such. It is revealed that textbook tasks serve mainly as source of inspiration for the...
The pupil's solving of learning tasks from biology at grammar schools
TOMSOVÁ, Nora
This diploma thesis deals with the pupil's solving of learning tasks from biology at grammar schools. Five components of learning tasks were compiled on the basis of the Tollinger taxonomy. Each file tests a different category of Tollinger learning tasks. The main aim of the thesis was to find out which types of learning tasks are preferred by students. Analýza učebních úloh k maturitní zkoušce pro vybrané tematické okruhy učiva chemie
ŠAVRDOVÁ, Tereza
This thesis deals with the analysis of problem-solving exercises of selected chemistry syllabus topics for the GCSE exam. The theoretical part starts with a brief description of the conceptual evolution of the chemistry GCSE exam. Furthermore, the subject of chemistry in the Framework Education Programme (FEP) for secondary schools (gymnasium type) is characterized, and a list of the most common types of chemistry problems in the admissions exams for universities is presented. In the practical part, the authors compare the relation of chemistry GCSE topics at selected gymnasium schools with the learning objectives and syllabus defined by FEP. The partial aim is to analyze the preparatory problem-solving exercises for university admission exams and for chemistry GCSE exams in terms of a structure and prevailing typology of learning tasks. The authors have created a set of more complex exercises that emphasizes an interconnection of selected topics from organic and general chemistry. This outcome represents a potential contribution to the educational practice.
Level of difficulty of assignments and exercises in ICT and cumputing subjects at basic schools
Fojtík, Jan ; Černochová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Neumajer, Ondřej (referee)
The aim of the thesis is based on the existing approaches to the assessment of the difficulty of the task of teaching with a focus on ICT and computer science to design a methodology for determining the difficulty of the task and verify it on the model examples for elementary schools. The methodology will be to respond to the theoretical background, which are based, in particular, of the parameters, forms, functions, and the specifics of teaching jobs. Other theoretical basis for the analysis of the teaching jobs are from the known taxonomies, Focus group research method and statistical data processing. The empirical part qualitative research including the multi-round testing pupils Elementary school and the analysis of the data obtained.
Genetically modified plants in relation to solving the issue of global climate changes
Nedělová, Jana ; Opatrný, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Drda Morávková, Alena (referee)
The theoretical part of the diploma thesis summarizes basic facts related to the global climate change and provides up-to-date knowledge on the issue of genetically modified plants more resistant to stress factors of environment, including specific examples of strategies regarding preparation of genetically modified plants resistant particularly to abiotic stress. Although genetically modified plants and global climate changes belong to very important and current issue which public and foremost young generation should be sufficiently aware of, contemporary biology books and high school framework educational program pay to the issue very little attention. Therefore, the goal of this thesis is not only to summarize the basic facts and current knowledge regarding this issue but mainly to handle the issue in didactic level in the form of activating learning tasks. There were 28 learning tasks created in the thesis that gradually in unconventional way familiarize students with the issue of genetically modified plants and with the impacts of climate changes. Students must actively acquire information from accompanying materials to address the tasks properly, think critically over them, utilizing acquired knowledge and experience from the past to some extent. Fourteen tasks were chosen from the file created which...
