Title: Memory Training Strategy for Patients after Acquired Brain Damage Abstract: This bachelor's thesis is focused on the training of memory strategies for patients after acquired brain damage. Acquired brain damage affects all components of the body. In the cognitive area memory disorders are most common which is reflected in the lives of individuals. Memory strategies can help people with memory problems live a self-sufficient and independent life. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on acquired brain damage, memory and memory strategies. The practical part is processed in the form of two therapeutic case reports, which describe the history of patient, examination results, the course of therapies and the conclusion with recommendations. The frequency of therapies was determined twice a week for 45 minutes for eight weeks. The therapy included a daily home exercise lasting 45 minutes. Therapies focused on memory strategies that patients used or wanted to use. Education and therapy for seniors in Prague

My Bachelor Thesis deals with the education and therapy of seniors in Prague. I dedicate the first chapter to the basic terms (such as senior, old age, education, therapy etc.). The second chapter focuses on the third age, or early old age, when old people are still independent. The third chapter is about seniors of fourth age, which is the period of real old age. The fourth chapter treats the University of the Third Age. Here I deal mainly with positive influences and barriers which seniors might encounter, when they decide to study. In the fifth chapter I describe selected therapies (Reminiscence Therapy, Art Therapy, Music Therapy, memory training…). In the practical part of my thesis I write about chosen institutions, that is The University of Lifelong Education and the old people's home in 7, Sámova, Prague. I interviewed a senior who goes to the University of the Third Age. The interview is focused on his motivation to study and on the benefits he got from his studies. Further, I have carried out a therapy focused on reminiscence and memory training in the chosen old people's home. The Effectiveness of Cognitive Support for Seniors in the Context of Viewing the Old Age

The present Rigorous Thesis treats the cognitive function training and physical exercise of seniors in the context of viewing the old age. It touches upon the problematic of active ageing which is highly relevant nowadays. The theoretical part deals with current findings and results of studies mainly with regard to cognitively healthy seniors. The practical part represents a questionnaire-based analysis ascertaining how the adult population across the age spectrum evaluates selected abilities of elderly individuals and, furthermore, it represents research determining the subjectively perceived effect, both short and long-term, of combining the cognitive function exercise, also known as a memory training, and the physical exercise in cognitively healthy individuals at senior age. The thesis discusses the training of cognitive functions and physical exercise in the elderly population. It concerns the issue of active ageing, which is a very topical one. The theoretical part describes the findings and results of the latest studies mainly in seniors of good cognitive health. The practical part presents the research in how the seniors of good cognitive health respond to the combination of cognitive training, in other words memory training, and physical exercise. Memory and techniques for its training

In the bachelor thesis titled Memory and techniques for its training I describe what the memory is, how it works, how it relates to learning or our attention. I also details how emotions affect memory, what happens in our brains when creating a memory processes and I mention and describe in detail several kinds of the memory. The basic division is on short-term memory, which includes for example sensory, echoic or photographic memory, and long term memory, which includes episodic, autobiographical, or musical memory. Conclusion of the theoretical part of the thesis is quite an extensive chapter about selected memory techniques, for example: a very specific method neurobik, Dominic system for remembering large quantities of numbers or mind maps using a visualization to capture the informations. In the practical part of the bachelor thesis I evaluate the results of the survey, which I applied to the students of our institute. Respondents answered questions related to certain memory techniques, which I wrote in the theoretical part.
Seniors and memory training

Bachelor thesis named Seniors and memory training is dealing with memory training and its meaning for senior's life. Theoretical part includes senior's characteristics and principles of aging process. It also presents general information about memory, including the influence of aging on memory and resulting risks. Memory training is presented here not just like a set of techniques and means of memory functions improvement, but also as an important element in fighting the negative effects of aging. Practical part consists of inquiry research aimed on personal review of seniors' memory and their attitude towards possibilities of memory training. Respondents are members of senior club, who mostly never came into contact with memory training. Based on analysis and data comparison, the idea of seniors' memory quality is created, including their opinion on memory training efficiency and subjective experience from this field. Results are supplemented by qualified memory trainer's comments for clarification of some points of interest. Conclusion of the thesis is enriched by several information concerning specialist's experience, acquired in form of structured interview.
