THE ISSUES IN METHODOLOGY AND DATA INTERPRETATION IN STUDIES OF TOURIST ATTRACTIONS' ATTENDANCE Lukáš Nekolný Abstract Attendance belongs to the main quantitative indicators of tourism which is one of the most important sectors of human activites. Knowledge about number of visitors has substantiation in scientific research and in destination management. In this case it is essential to combine the sustainability and the economic benefits. The number of visitors (visits) is important regarding to education and media. Therefore the use of comparable methodology is appropriate before interpretation of corresponding data. The aims of this thesis after analysing methodologic risk issues are to create the recommendation and to compare data of tourist attractions. The main points of recommendation we can mark are to compare individual attractions regardless of the ownership structure and to separate counting of tour routes and counting of visitor numbers with season tickets without distorted coefficients. Analysis of destination management in the Ostrava region

The diploma thesis Analysis of destination management in the Ostrava region is about relations between the Ostrava tourist region and tourism itself. Formerly-by-tourism-untouched region has experienced development of the tourism industry and this fact has lead to a need of an effective tourist destination management approach. The destination marketing and management is not done by one superior institution but it is performed by many subjects. The most important ones are the Ostrava city and the Moravian-Silesian Region. The thesis analyzes their planned and realized projects and destination products. The end is dedicated to a suggestion of a new destination product - the Ostrava tourist card.
THE EVALUATION OF PRAGUE´S SIGNAL FESTIVAL´S IMPACT ON THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE TOURISM REGION

This thesis focuses on evaluation of Prague's Signal festival, organized in 2013 and 2015, and it's impact on regional development in Prague and the Czech Republic as a whole, from economic, social and cultural stand point. The theoretical part puts emphasis on explanation of tourism, specifically event tourism, and cultural events. Quantitative data analysis in practical part proves that the festival was successful in bringing in higher number of visitors of the city. The number of visitors throughout the duration of the festival was higher than during comparable time periods and that Signal festival was clearly a decisive factor for visits, which allows us to draw conclusion that the festival supports tourism in the region. Calculations presented in this thesis prove that city council's financial contribution to 2014 Signal festival indirectly contributed to national budget as well as direct economic contributions to regional budgets, due to increased spending by visitors and other economic activity. Empirical examination demonstrates festival's positive impact on region's cultural life, better perception of public spaces by residents and the sustainable development of tourism region.
Marketing projects on enhancing the attractiveness and attendance of Zoo Chleby

Main goal of the bachelor thesis is to outline marketing projects, which could help Zoo Chleby to be more attractive and visited. The theoretical part characterises tourism, specifics of its marketing and management, tourist attractions and event marketing and management. Moreover it focuses on zoological gardens and activities provided by them. The practical part states basic data about Zoo Chleby, its premises, inhabitants and activities. The core of this part lies in the outline of marketing projects, ways of their organization and a guess of possible impacts on the run in zoo.
The analysis of the offer of tourism products in the selected region

The aim of the thesis is to summarize and valorize the offer of tourism products in the region Zlín. The introductory part of the thesis judges the tourism of the region as a whole. It describes the statistical data of the tourism, the main projects of the tourism and the main tourist attractions of the region. The main part of the thesis consists of the analysis of the tourist offer. Tourist attractions and products of tourism are described separately for each tourist area and they are divided into different categories. Accommodation and additional services are rated as well. The conclusion of the thesis includes the comparison of the areas, SWAT analysis of the region as a whole and a draft of new tourism products.
Development of tourism along Castle Road

This bachelor thesis deals with development of tourism along the Castle Road. First chapter describes main principle of this important international tourist project. Next chapters are focused on basic information about development of the Castle Road, describe member subjects and analyse supply of the services and social functions and attractions, which are offered to visitors of this project. Final chapter evaluates current situation of this project in the Czech Republic and suggests certain measures for further improvement and development of this project.
Possibilities and limits to the development of tourism in Microregion Šumava - Západ

This Bachelor thesis examines the influence of tourism on regional development, and characterizes the tourist region Šumava and mainly contains an analysis of tourism in the Microregion Šumava - Západ. The practical part consists of interviews with the two mayors of the villages in the studied area and the evaluation to questionnaires from visitors of this microregion. The aim of this study is to evaluate the potential of Microregion Šumava - Západ, particularly in terms of its natural and cultural attractions compared to other parts of Šumava, as well as to assess the current facilities for tourism and provide more options and limits to the development of summer and winter tourism in this microregion.
Development of tourist attractions and tourism products in the CR using fictional literary characters

This bachelor thesis deals with using fictional literary characters in tourism. The first part defines the supply in tourism and the use of this characters abroad, in the field of literary and film tourism. Another section is devoted to the presentation of attractions and products in the Czech Republic. The last chapter summarizes the findings from the field and describes the project of a new product using a fictional literary character.
