Comparison of the relationship of the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party and the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Party to the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in the postwar years 1945-1948

This bachelor work compares the relationship of the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party and the Czechoslovak Social Democratic Party to the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in the term of the third Czechoslovak Republic, that implies in the postwar years 1945-1948. The aim of this text is to interpret the examined relationships in the context of selected internal political event, in which proved the similarities and differences among these three socialist parties. First, the text sketches the postwar restoration of the activity of political parties, the approval of the Košice government programme and the creation of the National Front. Then follows a passage devoted to the Czechoslovakian parliamentary elections to the Constituent National Assembly in 1946 and an analysis of the debates on the nationalization and the land reform. Another part of this text deals with the disputes about the millionaire's taxes, that caused not only the internal political conflicts, but it escalated even more the contradictions within social democracy, which subsequently changed the party chairman on the Brno congress. The Failure of Democratic Socialism - The Inner Development of National Socialists and Social Democracy in the First Year after the Second World War (Spring 1945 - Summer 1946)

The Bachelor thesis is focused on inner development of two democratic socialist parties in the afterwar Czechoslovakia. The first one is Československá strana národně socialistická (The Czechoslovak National socialist Party). The second party is Československá sociální demokracie (The Czechoslovak Social Democratic Party). Both parties were included in total amount of six parties allowed by National Front. The goal of the thesis is to present the development of both parties (since May 1945 to summer 1946) with focus on clarifying the reason of failure in parlamentiary election. In the first and second chapter the choice of the theme has been explained and the evaluation of used literature is presented. The third chapter shows the political development among the National Front parties in spring 1945 (before Czechoslovakia liberation). The next chapter is focused on the period between the end of the II. World War and autumn 1945, when both parties were reestablished. The focus of my study lies on the inner organisational structure of both parties - from the top positions to the lowest ones. Comparison of program and politics of Czechoslovakian national socialist party and Czechoslovakian social democratic party in years 1945-1948

This text is focused on the Czechoslovak National Socialist Party and the Czechoslovak Social Democracy in the period of the Third Republic. The objective is to find out why these two socialist parties did not cooperate with each other during that era. The thesis is divided in four chapters. The first chapter describes how those two parties dealt with the Munich Agreement and their activity during the Second World War. The second chapter refers to their restoration after the liberation. The third chapter deals with the election in 1946, how its relults influenced the activity of those parties. The last chapter analyses the reasons, why the socialist parties did not manage to face together the arrival of the Communists at the absolute power.
