The Right Guy World: The Analysis of Television Beer Commercial Discourse

This paper's aim is to critically describe and use Michel Foucault's method archaeology for discursive description of contemporary television beer advertisements broadcasted in the Czech Republic. Theoretical part tries to define terms as denounce, discursive formation and discourse and propose their possible usage in practical research. The paper supposes that television beer advertisements are governed by the same discourse which was used in other beer advertisement and all advertisements form a coherent whole. Analytical part's aim is to describe this coherent whole from the aim of discourse and specific chose of denounces that form picture of beer and its role in a men world. The image of housework in television advertising through gender perspective

Stereotyping of male and female roles is currently the subject of many discussions in various spheres of society. Stereotypes are widely used in the advertising industry, where they aim to make it easier for potential customers to identify with the product and support the company's image. Choosing the right gender for a particular advertisement depends on the nature of the product as well as on the target group. Some product groups are more gender- differentiated than others. An exemplary group are household cleaning products. Related advertisements traditionally show female characters more often than male characters. However, the time when cleaning products were promoted exclusively by women is over and nowadays, men appear in these kinds of advertisements too. The growing number of characters who are portrayed in non-stereotyped gender roles in television commercials began to be discussed more prominently as early as the end of the 20th century. From a sociological point of view, the gender role is a set of socially defined behavioral norms, reflecting what society usually expects from a man or a woman. Bachelor thesis Media Presentation of Fanta Brand - Semiotic Analysis of Television Advertising describes what forms of media presentation company Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company Česká republika, s. r. o. chose for its brand Fanta during the period between years 2010-2015. Further it is focused on Fanta soft drink television advertisement in particular. In the beginning of the thesis the history of the company and the Fanta soft drink are described. Following part is dedicated to marketing area and the way how the beverage products should be communicated to customers to be effective. The chapter Media is focused on media communication and media mix specifics that should be always taken into account by soft drink beverage companies during the consideration process about media and the way of communication for the target group. The next part is about the way how to analyze media putting the emphasis on the media content analysis. The thesis also explains vital terms related to semiotics (such are code or sign). Children and Advertising

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of advertising to children. It aims to evaluate the extent of children's exposure to advertising on television, to analyse instruments used in this kind of advertisements and products presented in them. The thesis also aims to find out the opinion of parents on the subject, their view of the influence of advertising on children and the impact their children have on their parents' purchasing decisions. The theoretical part contains the definition of advertising and other terms connected with this topic, the qualification of the children as target audience followed up with specification of individual age categories and the most impactful instruments in different ages. The practical part consists of two parts. The first one deals with own research of advertisements directed at children on television, the second one deals with the questionnaire answered by parents.
