Methods: In this thesis, the research method and the questionnaire method were used. The main sources include professional literature, websites of key institutions such as UCI, Czech Cycling Union and others. An anonymous and voluntary questionnaire method was used to collect data. Children in 3. primary school in Chomutov were asked a series of questions. Of the 108 pupils surveyed (2nd-9th grade), 75 (69 %) said that they ride a bike. There is an almost equal ratio of girls to boys (37:38). The majority of respondents (75 %) learned to ride a bicycle before the age of 6. However, the frequency of cycling varies, with only 31 % of children reporting that they cycle regularly. The most popular routes are cycle paths and other paved roads (55 %). Interestingly, there is also a relatively high number of children with other hobbies (92 %). Růžička, Michal ; Brtník, Tomáš (advisor) ; Šafránek, Jiří (referee)
Title: Wheel size selection preferences in recreational and active cyclists Goals: The goal of the thesis is to find relation between anthropometric and training indicators and selection of bicycle wheel size. Methods: The work is a descriptive study of a sample of randomly picked men and women. The research sample consisted of 250 respondents of the age range 13 - 77, with 106 women and 144 men. The research has been carried out in the form of semi structured website survey. The data have been categorized and analysed using basic statistical methods and the results were interpreted in the charts by the frequency of answers. Results: By analysing the survey results we have found the existing relation between the used wheel size and anthropometric and training indicators. With the growing height and weight of the respondents, the tendency to use 29" wheel size increases, as mentioned 81 respondents in height range 160-199 cm. The research has also shown that older riders use their bikes primarily to the cycling tours and that with the smaller wheel size. The size 29" use only eighteen respondents of the age range 40 - 77. The comparison of training indicators with the used wheel size has proven direct relation between effortfulness of the surface and used wheel size, when 2500 km and more will be...

Kubišta, Adam ; Gnad, Tomáš (advisor) ; Fořterová, Petra (referee)
Title: Comparison of snowboarding on simulator Maxxtracks and snow Author: Adam Kubišta Head of work: PaedDr. Tomáš Gnad Objective: In this study, the aim is to compare snowboard riding and teaching methodology on a Maxxtracks simulator and snow. Methods: The combination of data analysis and qualitative research, in the forms of interviews, has been chosen. The interviews were conducted primarily to gain an objective view, as that is crucial in teaching snowboarding, due to the limited forms of schooling. Results: Ride on a Maxxtracks simulator is in many aspects similar to a ride on snow. It has its advantages and disadvantages. Based on our work, which is backed by interviews with snowboarding instructors, the simulator seems to be beneficial for teaching beginners. The advantage of the Maxxtracks simulator is the training hand bar and a mirror, which helps to control the body movement. The disadvantage is the disability to practice all snowboarding skills. Therefore, the schooling is incomplete and should be continued on snow. Key words: Snowboarding, technique and methodology of riding, simulator
