Securing and organizing swimming lessons as part of the activities of scout groups in the Czech Republic

Title: Securing and organizing swimming lessons as part of the activities of scout troops in the Czech republic Objectives: The aim of this work is to describe situation concerning security and organisation of swimming education implemented by scout troops in Czech Republic and to contribute to objectivization of the conception of this specific education. Methods: In the thesis combination of quantitative and qualitative methods was used. A survey addressing scout troops in Czech Republic was used. Data was analysed partly statistically and partly using open coding. Respondents, who were interested, were invited for an interview. Interview was recorded on a recorder and then transcript was made. Data was also analysed using open coding. Results: For the research 7 research questions were established. 5 of our predictions were confirmed. Another 2 research questions offered up answers that differ from the predictions. 19 out of 35 troops do realize swimming education. Education takes place especially during winter season and summer camps. Most of the troops spend 10 hours a year with swimming as predicted, some spend with swimming education 30 hours a year. Except for 6 all troops (29) do have swimming pool close by their clubhouse and except for 4 troops all 31 have pool, river or lake close by...

Motivation for physical activities in the water for adult person

Title: Motivation for physical activities in the water for adult person Research: Total physical activity of adults Objectives: Implement and evaluate a case study exercise intervention with the use of swimming locomotion during the period of six months focused on increasing of total physical activity of a client aged 39 years. Methods: Case study, observation, interview, timing, scaling Results: The research object was an adult man at the age of 39 years. The exercise programme lasting six months contributed to improvements in his swimming literacy. The proband improved the quality of basic swimming skills, extended swimming breaststroke distance and eliminated the main errors in this technique. He mastered the basics of crawl and backstroke. The exercise programme made an assumption to the fact that swimming is to become his regularly performed physical activity. Swimming literacy 11-12 year old kids

Title: Swimming literacy of 11-12 year old kids Goals: The aim of this thesis is to identify and assess the level of swimming literacy of children at the eight year high school. Swimming level reference file is going to be assessed in relation to the defined primary and post the swimming literacy (see Sec. 2.3). We are going to work with a group of 24 pupils who shares swimming training in compulsory education. Method: In this work, we collected the data based on the observation and videorecording. Through expert evaluation using scaling, we obtained a video processed and evaluated. The obtained data are subjected to final processing using nonparametric statistical methods. Results: Based on the results of the work we can see that the level of the reference set of swimming is sufficient in terms of primary and post-literacy of the swimming. Watched group of boys and girls are not differ significantly from each other, except for one test in which the difference between boys and girls was significant. Aspects working in the field of swimming literacy in pupils of a small class school

ABSTRACTS The thesis will be focused on disposition, personality and socio - cultural aspects of pupils. The part of the thesis will be monitoring of essential swimming skills as disposition characteristics. The pupils in terms of personality characterictics will be divided according to temperament and their socio - cultural background will be surveyed on the basis of a questionnaire. These aspects will be assessed in the context of each other so that we can determine whether they have an impact on swimming literacy education. The thesis will be focused on children of younger schoolage in little classschools participating in compulsory swimming education, both in Bohemia and Moravia. Based on the apparent data, recommendations will be made regarding the suitability for the age at which compulsory swimming educationis to be carried out according to the FEP EE.
