Application of backstroke to a patient with ankylosing spondylitis
Horničárová, Eva ; Břečková, Gabriela (advisor) ; Čechovská, Irena (referee)
Title: Application of backstroke to a patient with ankylosing spondylitis Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of the application of backstroke with chosen parameters to a patient with ankylosing spondylitis. To compare the effectiveness of this swimming exercise programme with a traditional exercise programme held in a gymnasium. This work investigates whether it is suitable to recommend backstroke swimming to patients with ankylosing spondylitis as an effective form of physical exercise for improving range of movements and reducing pain. Methods: The effectiveness of a 9 week long swimming programme was evaluated using a range of movements of the glenohumeral and coxal joints and of the spine. The presence of pain was measured by the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Diasese Activity Index. The same parameters were measured for another patient with the similar activity of the disease who took part in group exercises in a gymnasium. At the end of the programmes the parameters were compared and evaluated. Results: The swimming programme has improved the patient's posture and has strengthened back muscles. Pain was reduced in some parts of the back and also general pain measured by BASDAI. The range of movements of both glenohumeral joints improved in all measured directions. The range of movements...
Evaluation of force presumptions for swimming triathletes from Czech team in training cycle 2009-2010
Švejda, Roman ; Horčic, Josef (advisor) ; Kovářová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Evaluation of force presumptions for swimming triathletes from Czech team in training cycle 2010-2011 Intention of work: Evaluation of specific force presumptions for swimming and ability maximal utilit force efficiency in long time stress, wide spektrum of triatlonist from beginners to elite czech competitors. For evaluation we used 3 indikators: 1. average Power Output - PO - [W] 2. average power output on kg body weight - PO.kg-1 - [W.kg-1 ] 3. complete work - W - [Nm] Method: Testing on swim trainer Biokinetic by tests which simulated free style strokes and butterfly strokes. 10 strokes by free style and butterfly styl, 50 and 100 strokes by butterfly style. Results: Some people lives in mistake about their directionality. Someone think, that he is better for long distance, and oposit eis true. Lot of people, in our test, made more work [Nm] in free style strokes, than butterfly strokes. More offen people made more work [Nm] in butterfly strokes. Our people swim butterfly just especialy and that's the reason, why they have more force in crowl. Keywords: Biokinetic, triathlon, swimming, testing, swim force.
The Offer and Advertising of Tachograph Measurements of Swimmers
Komárek, Robin ; Blahutková, Marie (referee) ; Šťastný, Jan (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with the proposal of marketing strategy of static measuring of powers and kinetic measuring of speed of athletes. Based on theoretical knowledge and analysis of contemporary conditions an marketing research, proposal of marketing of services strategy is developed.
Measuring unit for race swimmers motion analysis
Kumpán, Pavel ; Hrbáček, Jan (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with a design of the computational method for the analysis of swimmers training with the use of an inertial measurement unit. The developed algorithm uses quaternion-based Unscented Kalman filter and merges accelerometer and gyroscope measurements. The proposed method enables analysis of velocity, acceleration and inclination of a swimmer. Verification of the method was based on an underwater video camera capturing and a tethered velocity meter.
Specifics of school children comperatitive swimming
ČERNÁ, Pavlína
As a theme of my bachelor thesis I chose the specifications of race swimming of school children and influence on child's progress. I divided my thesis into the two parts. The first part is theoretical, in which I closely characterized this. I focused on individual age period and how are the children able to learn schwimming skills in this certain period. Then I occupied myself in sport preparation, which training is suitable for a certain age group and if the frequency of schwimming trainings causes some health or social problems.

Waterproof wireless IMU cover design
Kračmar, Filip ; Březina, Lukáš (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design and realization of waterproof wireless inertial measurement units cover to measure data of swimming training. The model of casing was created in 3D CAD software. IMU is fixed to lower back by using belt. Easy access to electronics and charging connectors are guaranteed. The shape corresponds to hydrodynamic requirements. Manufacture was made by 3D printing. Casing was tested of waterproof and used for measurement of swimming training.
Sports activities for individuals with disabilities
ČEPÁKOVÁ, Aneta
This bachelor thesis researches a beneficial effect of swimming at the life of disabled persons. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the disabilities of the group of researched persons followed by a short report about a rearing a disabled child. Second chapter introduces a civic association called Kontakt bB České Budějovice, whose collaboration was crucial for this research. I describe its initiation, agenda and its KO-NEV method of conducting swimming courses. The third chapter starts with the presentation of 7 case studies that have been formed from the responses of the interviewed persons. The case studies are followed by a section that emphasises the importance of sport in human life and suggests a positive effect of swimming at the life of disabled persons; the conjecture is based upon the interviews, but it is also supported by existing literature.
The swimming effect on the body condition at patients with transversal spinal cord lesions
NOSKOVÁ, Petra
The theory part contains information regarding spinal cord injuries, possible complications, therapy, influence of swimming and water environment on the physical constitution, muscle functions and respiratory functions. Information about the methods of water movement therapy for physically handicapped are a part of the theoretical part as well. The aim of the practical part was to evaluate the influence of regular swimming on the physical condition and respiratory functions of spinal lesion impaired patients.
