Comunication of Self-help Group Focused on People Suffering from Social Phobia

The aim of this thesis is to propose new ways of communication of the self-help group focused on people suffering from social phobia. The theoretical part deals with perspectives of self- help groups and participation model taking into account socio-demographic profile, barriers to participation and motivation to participate as factors influencing participation. In the empirical part the reasons for the selection of questionnaires and interviews as data collection methods are described. In the part "results and discussion" I present the results of the analysis of external communication, the characteristics of the target group, the motivation to participate in the self-help group, barriers to participation in the self-help group and I propose new ways of communication adapted to the target group.
Prisoner's Family as an Object of Social Work

The diploma thesis deals with families who face sudden separation of a loved one due to imprisonment. From previous experience the work differs in focusing primarily focused on the family, not prisoners. Theoretical part is devoted to conceptual and legislative definition, the negative effects of imprisonment and the specific needs of the prisoners families as an object of help. Thesis marginally touches on recidivism in the chapter about the family as an entity assist in the reintegration of prisoners and also highlights the potential risks that may family for imprisoned in the process mean. It results from foreign experience, which is traditionally ahead. The empirical part of the qualitative research carried out within of self-help groups of prisoners families provides insight into the specific experiences of families. Its purpose is both to draw attention to this marginalized social group and its needs, as well as outline effective assistance, which would deal with this life situation the best. POTOCKÁ, Veronika. (in English): The Bachelor thesis Self - help groups, their significance and offer in Czech Republic is focused on experience and a point of view of self-help groups founders and organizers from different towns in the Czech Republic. Moreover, it deals with important factors influencing birth, development and keeping a good- working self-help group. The theoretical part includes features, definitions and typology of self-help groups. It is concerned with the meaning and risks of self-help groups. The research is, through qualitative dialogues, based on so far less discussed topics concerning self-help groups from the point of view of their founders and organizers.
The Influence of SASA Group on the Treatment and Integration of the Rape Trauma

This thesis Influence of SASA group on treatment and integration of rape trauma deals with specific contributions of self-help group seen from the viewpoint of its members as it brings healing to their experience with sexual abuse. The work can be helpful for people, who personally experienced sexual abuse or rape or other kinds of sexual assaults and also for people, who are dealing with such a victim personally or proffessionally. The goal of the thesis is to view the healing aspects of the SASA group contributing to recovery from rape - what specifially helps and thanks to what factors. It also shows what obstacles the group can bring about and how its members deal with a concept of 12 steps. Theoretical part explains basic terms and up-to-date situation in the matter. In a nutshell it shows posttraumatic experience of the rape victim in feelings, behavior and needs. It looks upon the trauma how it results in the mental state. Also it shows the self-help groups phenomenon and its role in the system of help as a complementary human care possiblity describing particularities of a specific spiritual self-help SASA group (Sexual Assault Survival Anonymous) based on 12 steps program inspired by Alcoholic Anonymous. Therapeutic approach to tinnitus in Hessen

The diploma thesis is dealing with the issue of tinnitus which is defined as the perception of sound within the human ear in the absence of corresponding external sound. The thesis describes classification, etiology, symptomatology, diagnosis and therapy of tinnitus. The focus lies particularly in the description of various therapeutic approaches. Empirical part of the thesis presents the case studies of 12 respondents with tinnitus. Using qualitative research methods, the answers received from German respondents from Hesse region are compared to the answers of respondents living in the Czech Republic. The research focuses on the tinnitus diagnose, cooperation with experts, possibilities of therapy and their results, ways of funding, satisfaction of respondents with the therapy and contribution of self-help group for people with tinnitus.

Meaning of social support in Self-help Groups

The aim of this diploma thesis is to depict the uniqueness of a person suffering from alcoholism, including a self-reflection of his own life before joining the AA group and after. Moreover, the thesis focuses on the perception of a person's addiction and especially his search for sobriety. The next objective is the identification of specific kinds and sources of social support for each individual in the context of AA group. The theoretical part concerns the concept of social support, the topic of self-help and self-helping groups, focusing on a self-help AA group. This part of the thesis also includes the characteristics of addictive behavior with the specifications of alcohol addiction. A qualitative research and a method of semi-structured interview have been chosen for the purposes of the empirical study. The analysis and interpretation of the data was inspired by the principles of the grounded theory. This empirical study is based on primary research areas: a description of active alcoholic's life perception, a strategy of the struggle with addiction, a way to abstinence through the self-help groups of AA and a reflection of the alcoholics' lives in sobriety.
