Classical concepts of stratification and their comparison with the situation in contemporary society. Subjective and objective position in the social structure
Rádl, Michael ; Šafr, Jiří (advisor) ; Jirkovská, Blanka (referee)
The central theme of the thesis is the current conceptualization of social classes and the issue of stratification in the Czech Republic in the period after 1989. In the first part I confront key theses of classical stratification concepts and follow their transformations in the history of exploration of the social structure. In the second part, by secondary analysis of quantitative data, I am trying to find the key factors of self- classification into social structures and to determine how this subjective self- classification correlates with objective (sociological) classification. An important part of the research is also the question of to what extent and in what sense people perceive the contemporary Czech society as a social-stratified. In the conclusion, on the basis of the results of analysis, I am trying to suggest which of the classical concepts of stratification best reflects the situation in contemporary Czech society. Key words: subjective and objective position, stratification, class, stratum, status, society, social structure

The Social Stratification of particular Collectivity
Štádlerová, Jana ; Novotná, Eliška (advisor) ; Syrovátka, Oldřich (referee)
This bachelor's thesis is concerned with the social structure of population in Chodová Planá. The goal of this thesis is the analysis of social stratification in the village using application of stratification criteria of Warner's stratification model. The bachelor's thesis is divided into two main sections. Basic terms of the stratification theory, pre-stratification-theory, current stratification models and the criteria for their building, measuring and criticism of stratification are explained in the theoretical one. The analytical part deals with the analysis of social stratification in chosen village. At the beginning of this part attention is paid to the basic characteristic of chosen village, used methods and the process of collecting and processing data. The most important part is the analysis of data and creating the stratification models for Chodová Planá according to individual stratification criteria. The stratification of the society is compared with preliminary dates from Counting of people, houses and flats 2011 (Sčítání lidu, domů a bytů 2011).
